Summary: If only it had a save system worthy of the gameplay.
Review: The gameplay is great, the story isn't as good as Baldurs Gate 2 but is decent nonetheless. The Save system will irk you though. Good game, probably the 2nd best of the past year

Summary: best game ever
Review: The reason I love this game so much is that you always have something to acomplish.this game gives you so much more choices then d1. the characters are asome each uniqe in one way or another. I am a paladin and this character is fun man. the best part is if you beat the game you have four more characters to choose from. This game is defanatly a must-have.buy it!!!!!!

Summary: Time to Dispel a Myth Again
Review: So you've read about the five character classes with unique abilities. You read that two level 25 Amazons (for example) could be very different depending on how they were developed. You may know about the 4 Acts, greatly improved multiplayer (not to mention free via Battle.net) and numerous other features in Diablo 2. But I'd like to address two myths that are constantly written about and deserve correction:

1) You do NOT have to exit the game to save your character. Again: You do NOT have to exit the game to save your character.

It is saved automatically when: a) 5 minutes have passed b) Another player enters/exits the game you are in c) You enter another area d) If in Bnet, your character is saved when you lose your connection. AND e) When you exit a game Why did Blizzard do this? So that you can worry about slashing demons and helping your friends. Can you imagine playing for an hour and not saving before getting yourself killed by one of hell's abomindations? I don't have to imagine, it's happened to me a few times on Diablo 1. And an hour of gameplay seems like 10 minutes because it's so addicting and engrossing. I guess Blizzard made it too convenient for those who don't even open the manual. On that note the manual doesn't have the detail above but it's on Blizzard's website. But the manual does say that it's saved automatically periodically as well as when you exit the game.

2) The graphics are vastly improved from Diablo. But don't believe me, load up both games back-to-back and compare for yourself. The artwork is noticably superior in every way, particularly in the latter acts. Furthermore, when the expansion comes out, you will be able to increase the resolution so the graphics will be even better.

I hope the myths haven't altered your decision to buy this game. It really is worth the time and money unless the genre isn't for you. But even if you THINK it isn't for you, check out the demo. You may be surprised. Single player is great, but gathering a few friends (or meeting them online) adds another dimension of fun that can't be ignored.

Summary: Best PC Game Ever
Review: This is definitely the most addictive game ever released on the PC.First when i bought the game,i wasnt into this kind of RPG but the game sucked me in with its addictive and challenging gameplay. The internet features are excellent too.But be warned this game might be too addictive for some and may result in loss of sleep and concentration.Believe me i am not joking. This game took many hours out of my sleep and took some of my grades down. But its worth it because this is one of the most enjoyable, addictive, challenging and rewarding game ever.Half Life is not the best game on the PC it is this...No further words necessary...

Summary: better then Diablo. . .but not best of all
Review: I have a love/hate relationship with Diablo 2. The new characters are wonderful; I especially like the sorceress. And all the characters have special abilities that they can put "skill points" into. Blizzard simply went crazy peppering powerful magic artifacts throughout the game. Be ready to spend long hours contemplating if you should wear the armor of the fox or the beryl chain of light. I like the town-portal function A LOT, which the Baldur's Gate games don't have. This saves you the time of traversing through multiple levels of dungeons just to get to town. There are also things called "waypoints" scattered at intervals that transfer you back to the town.

BUT. . . I hate the fact that you can't save without exiting the game. When you do save and exit, you start in town again, regardless of whether or not you were in a dungeon when you saved. Any town portals you have will disappear, so you have to take a waypoint to the nearest area. Unfortunately, the areas are repopulated with monsters. So, if you just spent a bunch of time killing a difficult unique monster, get ready to do so again. Plus, although you can hire mercenaries to aid you on your quests, they have little or no combat value and are basically a waste of gold. Diablo 2 is VERY extensive. Too extensive. If you are searching for anything, be prepared to spend a lot of time going over seemingly endless areas in search for items to satisfy the quest you're on. Also, the plot isn't very involved, so sometimes playing feels pointless. But, I still devote much of my time to playing this game. The reason it got three stars is because my not-so-minor annoyances have won over my overall enjoyment of the game. I would think twice before buying this, escpecially with games like BG2 out, and things like Myths of Drannor and BG2:Throne of Bhaal on the way.

Summary: Get This Game!!!
Review: Diablo 2 is much better than the original diablo. Your charactors change looks (armor) for every different type you use and same with the weapons and shields. you can also trade online with other players without having to drop items on the ground. You have a choice of whether you want to run or not and if you have ever had trouble in diablo 1 getting spells...well in Diablo 2 things have changed. Every level you get to choose 1 skill/spell from 30 different ones on a skill "tree" along with your 5 stat points(every charactor has their own unique group of skills). There are also 4 different areas/acts which are made up of about 10-15 smaller areas. Diablo 2 is my favorite game I own. I would recommend this game for you especially if you are a big fan of diablo 1!

Summary: SIMPLY THE BEST!
Review: This is, by far, one of the best games out there. Sure, B 1 & 2 have a good storyline, but try D2's graphics, creatures,"replayablity", thrill, and multiplayer and it will blow you away! 2 words : THE BEST!!!!

Summary: Best Action RPG There is!!
Review: I Admit i never played the first Diablo but that was only because i had a low end PC and it couldn't support it, and by the time i did upgrade it, it was two years after and my graphics card couldn't handle the old game. So once Diablo 2 hit the shelves i decided not to miss the chance this time. And am i glad i didn't this game rocks! First off the character choices are pretty diverse, each of the characters has his or her own special ability which means you don't get the same powers in all the characters. My favorite is the necromancer because he can bring back the dead and summon other creatures from the earth. There are about five classes to choose from and each one of them has a set of magic or physical powers which you can upgrade as you gain experiance from killing monsters and collecting items. The graphics, although i never actually played the first diablo, are a major improvement. The lightening and rain effects give the game some major atmosphere, and the music is great as well especially in the first level in the caves it has a sort of white zombie tone to it. Overall i can't think of one bad thing about this game single player wise. Multiplayer, though, is a different story. I tried the server a couple times and at the start of the game i would get booted for no apparent reason not mention all the players usually frag me no questions asked! This got very annoying and to tell you the truth it didn't interest me that much anyway. So i just stuck with the single player. It's still plenty of fun and extremely challenging.

Summary: FUN! FUN! FUN! .... REPETITIVE! REPETITIVE! REPETITIVE!
Review: Diablo II lived up to the hype, no doubt about that ...but it's fun fails in comparison to the first Diablo. Why? Because Blizzard didn't bother to change the gameplay one bit.

Yep ..its EXACTLEY the same. Of course, that's not really a bad thing considering how great the gameplay is BUT it's just sooo sooo ...REPETITIVE!! All Blizzard needed to do is add more depth to the gameplay, and it would of recieved a perfect score. But still, while repetitive .. it's very replayable and fun ..especially since Diablo II has Battle.net to back it up ;)

Another thing that remained the same is the graphics. Yup, no change at all ...or so I think.

Sound ...great

Control ...so easy

So is Diablo II worth buying? Of course. But don't expect too much out of it or you will be dissapointed.

In my opinion, the first Diablo is better.

The series needs to end here, period.

...But of course it won't ;)
