Summary: Great Game!
Review: This game is extremely fun. I am sick and tired of people playing for a week or something, getting discouraged and saying the game...wasn't any good... However it is an understatement to say the game is an average game. It is highly addictive and pulls you in, probably with a replay value of 10 of 10. ...

Summary: MOST HORRIBLE GAME
Review: Played it for about 3 months, made it to lvl 31, had a monk, pally, wizard. (I tried SO HARD to get any sort of "fun")
Game is horribly BORING AND A WASTE OF TIME.
All you do is slap on the auto attack an sit an watch with nothing else to do, or sit in 10 minute intervals staring at the screen refilling mana... not very exciting...
Ever played RPGs? thats what Everquest is, but everything made so ridiculously longer from getting the next "better weapon" to the next "level". Any RPG fan that played Final Fantasy or any GOOD RPG knows that Everquest is such a waste of time with absolutly no fun or any sort of action. What a piece of trash, buying it with the additional 10$ a month is NOT WORTH IT.
(I wouldnt even play it for free)

Review: This is a awesome game, ...

Graphics:Depends how high you set them, nice eye candy in general though.

Gameplay: Awesome. Nothing beats online games, and the items and magic is really cool, not to mention all the cool races and Classes.

Story: Best part of the game, there is no story. this is a real role playing game. This is what they are supposed to be like. You play a role, get creative, make up quests to go on. Make a personality for yourself. You can be a greedy human jeweler, a sly elf theif, a barbarian mercenary who only joins groups for money, the possibilities are unlimited.

Control: Its an rpg, the controls are always simple.

The only thing that is a miniscule wrong with this game, is that you have to pay ten dollars a month. For some people, that aint bad, but for some it is. Also, this can be solved if you ask your family and friends to get you a few prepaid cards that worth about 3-6 months. (Birthday, Christmas, etc.) Also, it takes a little time for each zone to load.

Summary: Everquest is a great game
Review: The tech issues that many people complain about are really not that bad. I run the game fine (admittedly, with many options turned off or low) on a 350mHz PII with only 72mB RAM. And my modem connects at only 31.2k on average. The game is still very enjoyable and not choppy or laggy.

As far as the other people wrecking the experience? I read a couple of other reviews stating that the game was just a big playground for obnoxious kids.. NOT TRUE. There are quite a few kind and mature players, and there are very merciless policies in place for those that abuse the system.

Outside of all that, Everquest is easily the most fun RPG that I have ever had the pleasure of playing. There are many race/class combinations with very realistic in-game affects, and the expansions only add to this.
The only reason that I don't give five stars is that to make to the game look really pretty, especially with the expansions, the system requirements are pretty high-end. The game is still an excellent RPG without the graphincs set to their max; very enjoyable...

Summary: Yuck!
Review: Beautiful graphics (but if you have tech issues- forget it! (Sony loves to play the 'it's someone else's fault' game), some interesting features- but its the players that make this truly bad... Imagine a world of wizards and warriors all played by pushy, obnoxious 11 years olds, and you get a taste of EQ (or Ever Crack as some call it). Odd thing...Found the game very frustrating.

Staring at a wall might be a better use of time...

Summary: Infectious disease, not less
Review: I just helped two of my good friends out of this addiction, it took 6 months for 2 intelligent individuals with a little bit too much imagination to kick off the habit. One of them got addicted in November, pulled in another one and both tried to recruit me. That's how this contagious thing spreads.

...

My younger friends were not that lucky, they And they got caught up for 6 months, with 6 months of their lives taken away from them, with no chance of return. This infection is designed to suck you in and keep you sucker, that's a Hotel California for you right there. If you are fully grown up person who has any kind of real life, beware: that's a swamp for you. You'll find yourself with crowds of young, abusive kids with no real lives, doing same stupid thing they do. I would put a cap of 14 years old, anyone older than that should run away from this game and go learn skills, earn experience that will help you survive in real life. This thing won't give you anything at all, you only pay money to be abused that's it.

Summary: Ugh!!
Review: Buying this was the worst mistake I ever made in my entire life. If you think this is fun, think again.

I was at level 20 for over two weeks, and when I did level up, I was hardly any stronger than I was before.

Review: EQ is the most fun you can have with a computer game. Patience and social skills required.

Summary: The most addictive and exciting rol playing game ever made!
Review: I was turned on to this game by a friend at work. As soon as he told me about it, I knew I would have to give it a shot. I bought the basic game online from Everquest.com and have played it daily ever since. I soon plan on upgrading to Ruins of Kunark and Scars of Velious and then I will finish up with Shadows of Lucilin! (AMAZON.COM has a great price on the upgrades and the trilogy pack, which contains the basic as well as Kunark and Velious)
You have a plethora of servers to choose from and can develop up to 10 characters on any one server. I have several characters on Lanys server. This review is being written in the first person by my 20th level Paladin who is currently (as of 3/17/02) travelling through the High Hold Pass. Orcs and Gnolls are the targets of choice but there are plenty of NPC's to kill also. This game is awesome and very, very addictive too. I played Dungeons & Dragons for many years and this game overshadows D & D by miles and miles. If you choose to practice your fighting skills, you can duel with other Playing Characters without any loss of XP if you lose or die.
Be safe and enjoy your travels. Happy hunting and remember to help others as you were help before them.
