Summary: Fun, Fun, Fun
Review: This game is just awesome. You start out playing single player it's fun. Then you decide to try multi-player.Thats where the fun really starts. You can do quests trade or duel. But just to warn you, there is lag every where.

Also, if you have the original BUY THIS.There is 800x600 more items 2 classes expanded stash and a new act. ... .

Review: I couldn't possibly give this XP a 4 outta 5, maybe about 4 and three quarters. I say that because there's not much to the expansion besides the new items. Just a somewhat short but exciting final act which concludes our battle against the last of the prime-evils. another drawback is the size of the game. for those of you without extensive hard drives, Diablo II installed with the XP will really hurt you Hard disk space. regardless of your choosing of installation size when installing Diablo II, the expansion will put you well over a gig of Diablo II things. In conclusion, this is a great expansion with a few tiny drawbacks. but it is great fun.

Summary: This is not just a mere PC game...
Review: this is an adventure! Wow this may be the best, most addictive game of all time. This game has lasted on my PC more than a year and a half! while most games hardly grab my attention for 1 month.
every aspect of this game is flawless. The graphics are nice and detailed, the music and voice acting are top notch, the story is very interesting, and most importantly, the gameplay is simple, and the longevity is perhaps the biggest of all the games I ever played! (largely because you can choose 7 different characters to play with).
don't buy Diablo 2 without this expanion, for me Diablo 2 + the expansion is the full game.
Even if you don't like role playing games I highly recommend this one, I think any person can play it.

Summary: PROBLEMS WITH XP
Review: Like many here, I had a great time playing d2. Perhaps like not so many here, I had a miserable time getting LOD to run. The box says that the game is playable in XP, but I cannot get the characters to run smoothly, and it's not the hardware (1ghz Ath.; geForce2 GTS; 256K RAM). D2 seems to run fine in XP, but both the cinematics and the game for LOD don't work. Blizzard's technical support on this issue is underwhelming. For the five seconds that the game worked before it froze, though, it looked like it might have had some potential.

Summary: This isn't exactly a BAD game, but...
Review: I used to play D2:LOD. A lot. I mean all the time. There wasn't anyhting wrong with playing this game so much, it was free and it was fun. After a while, though, it just go SO BORING. The same levels and stuff, over and over and over again. Sure, you can makea new character. Big deal. You're still not doing anyhitng new and interesting with the game. You're just seeing the same sights in a new suit. I recently purchased Everquest and even though there's a monthly payment, I truly beleive that it's worth it.

Summary: yeah its cool and all...but is it worth it?
Review: Alright people. Im sure for all you buyers out there that are really hoping for the best in this game, right? Well im not exactly dissing the game or anything. Its just that after playing it for so long....and you have your "high level" sorc and all and you think it's "so cool"...it starts getting really boring. Yeah ok i love the whole new character thing. And yes the
graphics kick and all :) But isn't Diablo II already good enough? After you have beaten it so many times though, yes you are right. I would buy this game also (and i did) :) But nonetheless, this game gets really boring after a while. Oh and by the way, multiplayer is the only way to have fun for me anymore. I have met friends and some cool people which really is why i keep the rating at 4. Otherwise it would prob be about 2.5 :)

Summary: A great game
Review: This is just a great game. It is way better than the original Diablo 2. It has a new act, which is better because there is less of a jump from the normal to nighmare settings, but thats bad for those of you who want more of a challenge with your character. There are also two really cool new characters, the assasin and the druid. Just a tip for those of you planning to buy the game, don't devlop shapeshifting with the druid, only elemental and summoning.

This game is great and is good for anyone who buys it.

Summary: I Quit Playing Soon After
Review: I was a hardcore fan of Diablo II and had been playing for several months. So when they announced this expansion, I went ahead and pre-ordered it online. I actually thought that Act Five was pretty decent. I liked the new characters, the Druid and the Assassin, as well. However, pretty soon, I stopped playing the game. I had played all the characters, Battle.net was always slow and choppy, and I already knew everything that happened, so the interest really wasn't there anymore. Please, take your money and buy a brand new game. Buy one of the Final Fantasy games. Buy anything other than this unless you're a really major fan and you just can't stand not to see the new cinematics, characters, acts, and other items, and reading about them online just isn't doing it for you.

Summary: The "gateway" to RPG addiction
Review: First off, let me get one thing straight:

DIABLO II is NOT AN RPG!!! It is an Action/Adventure game with "RPG Elements".

However, this in no way decreases the fun/involving/depth factor of Diablo II. But still, it does somewhat decrease the options/possibilities of the Diabo II game. For example, to all you girls/women that play Diablo II, don't you wish you could have a FEMALE necromancer/druid/barbarian/paladin? And all you guys/men, don't you wish you could have a MALE sorcerer/assassin (NOTE: male Amazons are sort of an oxymoron, sorry). Second, don't you wish you play through Diablo II as an elf, or a dwarf? Also, in games such as Dungeons & Dragons, you can do things such as thieving from merchants, killing party members (I know most wouldn't, but the point is that you can), etc. My point is that Diablo II is not an RPG (hey Amazon.com, you should read this).

Now, don't get me wrong, Diablo II is an extremely fun and addictive game, and I have spent many hours playing it. But it simply lacks the possibilities of a "true" RPG. And I understand that seeing the scenarios in Diablo II come to life on your monitor is one EXTREMELY enticing feature. But, if you're drawn by the "visual fctor" of these games, and have finished Diablo, Diablo II, and Diablo II: LoD, try some games such as Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, and Dungeon Siege. These games are extremely similar to the Diablo series, but are based on D&D and have extremeley more possibilities than Diablo II does. One thing that I must accredit the Diablo series with, however, is it's ease of use, and extreme addictiveness that serves as a "gateway" to true RPGs for those who come out of their adventures wanting more. Somewhat like a certain plant to a certain bad type of addiction.

In conclusion to my review, this game is f**king awesome, but it left me wanting more, and I got that from D&D/D&D based PC games (RPGs). So, for the deeper adventurers, go to D&D for the real thing.
