Summary: Definitely not ready for prime time
Review: I have been beta testing this game for several weeks now and, unless miracles happen between now and release, you will get very weary of dealing with all the bugs. Ok, the graphics are awesome and the music is cool, but this product is very far from being ready for prime time. Even the simplest, most fundemental things are still broken, and most of the game elements (trading and manufacturing, for example) have not even really been tested yet.

Summary: A Great Game
Review: This is all I can say. I have been Beta Testing this game for a long time now. This game is somthing that is unbelivibly amazing. This is gonna be good trust me. This is the best game ever played by me. (And I've been doing this for 10 years now)

Summary: This game will own all other MMORPGS
Review: Awesome graphics! Great Gameplay! It has everything you could ever want!

Summary: Great game, not perfect
Review: One of the reviewers above talks about " Too many bugs, poor customers support". Well, that is a very very old review. Of course since then they've fixed many of the bugs. The game is playable. But what that person said is still somewhat true, there are still too many bugs. But they usually are not Fatal bugs, they are usually just little annoying bugs. Sometimes though you loose a ship and die because of the bugs. It's just a game.

Another person said "Allows 'Narcotic' trading with realistic drug names/details". What that person said in his review is completely true. But they are fake drugs in a game, so who cares? And if you transport them the cops will get you. What he said about the GM's is still very true, but it is true in every game I've played with GM's to one degree or another. You deal with wild and crazy gamers all day long and you might get a bad attitude, too.

It's an incredible game, with very good graphics, good game play, and a lot of bugs and arrogant, semi-useless GM's. But they are from Iceland, and I guess with all that ice they don't know what bugs are.

But I still play it every chance I get.

Summary: Allows 'Narcotic' trading with realistic drug names/details
Review: Eve online also allows commodity trading and 'smuggling' of 11 narcotic substances on it's market, which strongly resemble known controlled substances. One of these drugs also ties in to the human(oid) slave trade, which players are free to participate in and profit from with little npc interference. The publisher is based in Iceland, which must have milder terms for promoting the profits of drug trade than the UK or USA. ESRB 'T for Teen' seems inappropriate. System specifications are now:

Windows 98 or Windows 2000 / XP
DirectX 9.0
PentiumĀ® III 600 or better
256 MB RAM
32 MB GeForce, RADEON 7200 or better
56 Kbps Internet Connection
1 GB of hard drive space

with recommended at:
Windows 2000 / XP
DirectX 9.0c
PentiumĀ® 4 or better
512 MB RAM
64 MB GeForce, RADEON 8500 or better
64 Kbps Internet Connection
1,5 GB of hard drive space

and as an online game updating to this system load to play is mandatory.

Although a player may have up to 3 characters, only one may develop at any given time using a time-based skill system. Some skills can require as much as 30 days to gain a single leve (of 5) in, and some equipment requires multiple level 5 skills to use (at all). 12 months out and you will still be unable to use many new ships and pieces of equipment, even at maximum attribute levels. GMs are notably hostile to criticism and have gagged and taken action against people for 'complaining' or criticizing the publisher/service in the context of the game. GM participation in the storyline is thinly veiled and exceedingly frustrating - combining denial of involvement and consistent 'superuser' action with a fair amount of bias typical of a game boasing only 8-12K simultaneous users overall.

This review is the product of one full year of gameplay.

Summary: best game ive ever played
Review: seriously this is the best game Ive played, as opposed to other mmorpg's its not a level grind, and the graphics and audio is some of the best ever.

The game promotes roup play ie: its a highly social game.

All I can say is try it.

Summary: Best Massively Multiplayer Online Game Available
Review: Eve Online: The Second Genesis is without a doubt the best MMOG on the market. First, I have never encountered a company that strives as hard as CCP (makers of Eve Online) to improve a game and make it as easy and troublefree as possible. The game itself is marvelous. Breaktaking graphics, gorgeous sound tracks, and an intriguing concept make this a great game.

An average, intelligent adult will have no problem learning this game. I should qualify that by saying that the learning curve is fairly steep, but most aspects of the game are very intuitive, and there are always other helpful people online to help you with any questions. If you have ever yearned to pilot your own spaceship across the farthest reaches of the galaxy, involve yourself in collecting resources by mining, customizing your ship and hunting down pirates, this is definitely the game for you.

If you're an attention starved child who only wants to shoot people, Doom 3 is out and Halflife 2 is on the way. If you want an in-depth, beautiful game experience, this is for you.

Summary: One of the Best MMORPGS out on the market
Review: When i first started playing Eve Online, i was literally blown away. It seemed like i was really IN the Eve Universe. The Graphics are superb, and the game system is excelent. There is almost no learning curve Whatsoever. If you just do alot of mining, you can amass a fortune in just a few days. Of course, thats if you buy bigger ships with which you can put on more mining Lasers. For those of you who want money fast and get it by killing someone, you can always go out into the fringes of the 4 Space Empires and kill some people with bountys on their heads.

The missions are good. I never got very far (i didnt get past bring water to some colony place), but they seemed to be good. Most of the music is very Eerie and solemn, but i got past that by just listening to the Songs "We fight proud for the holder" and "Below the Asteroid Belt".

The fighting system was simple, if nto too simple. You get guns, and put ammo in them. When you're attack you guns automatically attack the enemy. If you have multiple guns you can attack multiple enemies. Simple. You can also buy drones who help you do the fighting. I never got into an Organisation (i guess thats because no body likes me), so i cant say mucha bout how good they are. I WAS in a startup Org, though, and they gave me alot of hints and help. THe player-based economy in this game is WOW. Baisically every shop only sells stuff sold to it by human players. Your gonna really want that 100,000,000 Isk for that Battleship, but dont go buy it on E-Bay, just mine and mine and mine and mine.

Seeing how this game has all this stuff in it, i bet you are thinking "Hey, man this guy says this is the best MMORPG ever, lets all go buy 50 copies!". Unfortunatly, i havent finished yet. This game has SOMETHING missing. I really cant tell what it is though. It may be the fact that you can go many systems without even glimpsing another Player ship, i dont know. But for some strange reason, i stopped playing this game. It may be that after a while, mining Gets repetitive. I dont know. All i will say is though, if your the kind of person who wants to Blowup everything you see 12 times and then once more for good luck, this is deffinetly the wrong game for you.

Summary: Good Game, with one flaw
Review: I have played Ultima Online, Everquest, and Anarchy Online. For my tastes, this bests all three because of it's rewarding team (corporation) based gameplay. It is also pleasing that everything so player driven and the next free expansion or patch, known as "shiva", looks to make the game so much better. As a late adopter of the game. The one problem I encountered, wasn't that it was hard to catch up to those who had played since the beginning, but rather it was too easy. You can buy items and money(known as Isk) on ebay. I was not ready to put down an additional $100 for 100 Million Isk. Pleanty good to keep me busy until Pirates of the Burning Sea comes out
