Summary: Best online game ever
Review: Basically this is the most ambitious and detailed game I have ever play. It has unparalled depth and I see myself still playing hard years from now. The only bad point is like all new online games there are a few bugs but these are quickly being ironed out and is still a joy to play even with them.

Summary: Don't bother buying this game.
Review: The game is kind of fun. Too bad that it is riddled with many bugs. I have had the game eight days and have been unable to play it for 4 out of those eight days. Between my character getting bugged and crashing when trying to log in(support que is 12 hours long) and the downtime and even a 12 hour rollback I have recieved much more frustration than fun from this game.

Summary: Incredible deep and eerily beautiful online space game
Review: There simply isn't another game out there like Eve Online. In essence it's classic Elite, but set in a fully progressive online world with stunning visuals. The feeling of being part of a huge living environment is captured perfectly in Eve. Design a character and choose a destiny that could include mining, bounty hunting, salvaging, researching technology, joining a corporation or just going solo and exploring the staggeringly beautiful universe laid before you.

I've been hooked since I signed up and I urge others to dip and and experience it for themselves. Just remember that this is a game that requires patience, and as a result it won't suite many players out there looking for an action driven space combat game. Eve is all about soaking up the atmosphere and communicating with others in an evolving sci-fi world.

It's also worth noting that there's a subscription charge to be payed every month and the game is still going through some post-launch 'issues'. Patches should smooth everything out soon enough but have some patience and expect the occasional disconnect when you come to play.

Summary: Game with uncertain future
Review: This project is very weak. It lacks the immersiveness most other MMORPG's have. Leveling in Eve does not exist, rather it's skill's that are levelled, most of the rare ones requiring purchase. Skills level individually, so you when you do decide to train a skill it prevents you from training others. There are only a very few amount of skills that level themselves and those require training if you want them to be efficient as it takes very long to let them level themselves. It's not unusual for some skills to take over 5 days to level, think about that, 5 days training 1 skill and all others are not trainable in that period. The graphics and community are excellent, very nice player base and generally friendly people in game. It becomes stale however as a game very fast, too fast. It boils down to mining and uprgrading ships as well as laboriously training skills. The music was nice the interface is nice it's just a husk though as the substance is not there. This could have been great and should have been great but it just doesn't have what it takes.

Summary: Good game, bad experience.
Review: The game concept is great, there is no doubt in it, and it is interesting and new. The only problem is, and it is a big one - the game is in very much "wet" condition. Those who are willing to play it right now will experience problems with connection, problem with a game play, often disconnections and constant patches. This game was obviously pushed on the market by the management, not by the developers. So it is just not finished, problems are masked but not fixed and the customers are guinea pigs.

Summary: Too many bugs, poor customers support
Review: I've played EVE online since Beta 5. Indeed, it is a great game. Probably, this game is the best one on market right now. Game design and features are pretty simple and logical.

Unfortunately, right now the game is not ready yet.
You get a CD with a beta version 934 (yes, I'm not kidding).
However, you cannot play the game unless you agree to download patches every day. There is downtime for game servers from 11.00 till 12.00am GMT. During that time developers (devs) apply new patches, fix bugs and respond to your petitions (the only option to communicate with customer service). The same situation was with the game beta test. The only difference is that now you pay money for testing the game.

I started playing the game release on May 6 but on May 15 I quit playing it. Why? During those 9 day my main char had got stucked 2 times (I couldn't login because of desktop crashes). The only help you could get in this situation is to write a petition. BUT.... THe first time it took devs 10 hours to fix my char and 17 (!!) hours for the second time. Would you play a game if you have to wait most of the time for somebody to fix it? But that's not all. In-game money is very important. Imagine that you can easily loose everything during those locks. And you would never get anything back from devs. You could spend 2 days mining minerals but in less than a second all your minerals would be gone so that you would have to start it from the scratch. The most funny thing is that if you write a petition and ask devs to return you money/minerals/goods back, you get an answer "according to our policy, we do not reimburse in-game money or goods. If you don't like the game you might cancel your subscription at any time".
It's funny, isn't it? It almost looks like devs just don't care if they are going to loose players. When I wrote my last petition and I asked them to return the money] I paid for the game, I received a reply that, according to EULA (End User License Agreement), CCP doesn't return anything AND (Please pay attention to those words because you would have to accept their terms before you could start playing the game):
-------
CCP does not guarantee that it will continue to offer access to the System or support the Game. CCP may, in its sole discretion, cease to provide any or all of the services offered in connection with EVEā„¢ (including access to the System and any or all features or components of the Game), terminate the EULA, close all Accounts and cancel all of the rights granted to you under the EULA.
--------

Practically, it means that you can buy the game one day and on the next day you won't be able to play it and there is no way for you to get your money back.

I suggest you to think twice before you decide to buy such a game.

Summary: Very poor indeed, what waste of a great possibility.
Review: Possibly the most boring online game currently out there at the moment.
I started the Beta at phase 3, and during the past 6 months or so, it had become obvious that this is nothing more than an online mining simulator.
The day before release, about 20mins before they turned the beta servers off, there was still at least 3 major exploits, including money dupes/item dupes and a rather nasty pvp invulnerability flaw.

Do NOT buy this game (unless you like how buggy neocron is).

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
Review: Ok this has got to be the worst launch of a MMORPG to date. With character delete bugs, serverwide rollbacks, and more bugs you can count, I would definately pass this one by. This game came out WAY too early and despite the thousands of beta testers screaming to not release it, they did anyways and are paying for it now. If you are considering buying it DONT, but if you must wait atleast a few years for them to iron out the bugs.

Summary: The Truth about Eve
Review: There are a lot of naysayers to this game but much of that is simply because they dont KNOW. Sure, they played Beta; so did I. Yes Beta was rough with lots of lag but that is because of all the bug and error work going on. I am playing Eve commercial as i type this and you should all know this game rocks! 99% of the bugs are gone, lag is almost nonexistent, and very rarely do i get dropped from the server. Yes it takes a while to get going but so what? Any game worth playing usualy does or wheres the challenge? If you like rpg's, if you like PvP or NPC combat, if you would like to take over the universe against all odds fighting with or against thousands of players from around the world, GET THIS GAME. Even if this dosnt sound like your thing you should take a look at it just for the incredible graphics and sound. Im getting a second copy for my wife who normaly prefers games like the sims. Forced her to try this and in 1 day she is hooked. You will be too.
