Summary: Quite Disappointed
Review: I played the game in beta and disliked it but figured they would change things so I gave it a chance in retail. There are almost no changes from the beta which shows that the game was rushed and they didn't listen to their customers. Combat is extremely boring and a lot of crafting is bugged. Patches are coming in the future, but if they didn't fix things from beta, I have little hope for the future. The game doesn't even hit seven thousand people playing during prime times. Seems like a lot of people are disappointed like myself. Save yourself some money and wait on this.

Summary: Pretty Good
Review: I have had this game for about a month and I am still hooked. Microsoft must be putting nicotene in the game because I cant stop playing it. The gameplay is sweet, the skills are sweet everything is perfect. Its even too perfect I have a pretty new computer with a brand new graphics card and I still had to crank the settings down to get optimum performance. IT is a system requirements HOG. Otherwise, I reccomend this game to anyone who is willing to pay a small monthly fee for it. If your interested and want to find out more check these websites out...

Summary: asherons call 2, waste of money!
Review: This has to be the most disapointing game yet. every other mmorpg ive played (UO, AC, EQ) kept me interested for at least a month, (uo for 4 years) this game had me going for a week, tops.

It has no play value, you kill monsters, level up, do it again. Basically the higher your level the easier the higher level monsters get and you do the cycle over and over. For example, a level 100 char, killing a level 100 monster is just as easy as a level 1 battling a level 1.

All you can basically do is monster kill. Crafting is a waste of time, anyone can craft their own items. (so their goes the social aspect of the game) No npc's all people make their own potions and armor etc. But whats the fun there? I'd personally prefer to have an alternate character to sell my items. It gives the game more of kick. I find the ac2 team was just to lazy to program npcs.

On top of everything, the game isnt completed! they are already planning to patch it and change things. AND once again, the game has no horses. So you run everywhere portal to portal, this gets tedious, just because sometimes itl take you an hour to get to where you wanna go.

all and all this game is complete garbage, spend your bucks on something else.

Summary: Down in Flames.........
Review: This game is so simple compared to AC1, if you liked AC1 you will not like this. If youve been living in a cave and think DAoC is a good game, this might be for you. I feel like ive been ripped off.

Summary: Outstanding Online Game!
Review: I'm a big fan of games like Diablo II and Neverwinter Nights, so I logically was inclined to buy this game. However, Asheron's Call 2 is a much different game than Neverwinter or other D&D games. This doesn't mean it isn't fun and very stimulating though. Just a warning for those who buy it wanting another Neverwinter Nights.

Asheron's Call 2 is beautiful in every way. The sound is amazing! Music is wonderful and doesn't get on your nerves. The graphics is best of its kind at this point in the game. And, there is little lag or drop-outs like you get in games like Earth&Beyond or the [bad] Everquest.

There is a huge land to explore. It can take hours to walk from one area to the next. In this way, it reminds me of Morrowind. There is so much to explore - you never get bored.

Finally, the best part of the game is the lack of documentation! I love that someone finally understands that we like to figure things out on our own. I'm discovering new things every day.

Buy it and enjoy!

Summary: Fairly smooth start
Review: Using the final version

Lag was down, graphics were up, quests were easy to find. The maps great, crafting is easy, and combat is the same as in AC but with the ability to do more powerful attacks at times. It's a lot easier to get used to, a lot less confusing, and a lot less of a hassle. No more trudging back to town to sell things-you can cash in in your inventory screen. Better yet, use the items to craft what you really want.

This is a very beautiful, easy to learn game. There are no real need for shop keepers as everyone can craft with practice. There were no real towns...we the players are to rebuild them. And finding a fellowship was fairly easy, once I actually tried. It will be interesting to see what we do with the world.

The only problem I have is that it REQUIRES a 733 mhz processor, a 32 meg video card, etc. That means that those of us with older machines need an upgrade to play. Still, with the low cost of parts nowadays (not to mention entire systems) it isn't too expensive.

If you enjoy camping and spending months on a quest that will net you a shiny new breastplate, play everquest. If you want a settled game, fully explored, with lots of help for you online, go for AC. If you want a beautiful, quest filled, non-ordinary (didn't kill a single bat or snake!) that will keep on growing, the come join me in AC2.

Summary: I didn't find it any very fun...
Review: Graphics/Interface/Sound all okay. But my biggest gripe is the lack of anything interesting to do. You kill a few creatures roaming around, gain some xp, visit one of 21 "vaults" or dungeons (i visited 4 and they seemed standard in layout -- 1-2 creature types roaming around, and 1 boss creature type). The towns are all ruins (with horrible popup on my poor system). Most social activity seems to be gathering in one of these ruins and playing your instruments. There's no trading; more just giving out old things you don't need anymore, and the only use for gold is to "gamble" up a short term enchantment on yourself. In other words, no economy. Crafting items seems even more tedious than leveling up. People who played FFX on PS2, remember "capturing" creatures 5 times each? Sorta reminded me of that. Just didn't live up to my expectation of a 2nd gen MMORPG.

Summary: Wait 6 months
Review: The fan boys and MS marketing would like to convince you to buy this game now but I recommend that you wait. Sure the graphics are nice but that wears off fast. The game has severe imbalance issues. Personally I find that character development and combat are boing and very unoriginal. While I thoroughly enjoyed AC1 I find that AC2 simply doesn't grab my interest.

Maybe in 6 months they will have addressed many of my issues. If not then there will be something else to play with equally nice graphics by then.

Summary: Beautiful, Fun, Interesting, Mysterious, Amazing.....
Review: I have played Asherons Call 1 for 2 years and after my wonderful experience with it I bought Asherons Call 2. After several hours of playing it I was lost, confused, and didn't know much about the game. When I asked the admin for help they helped me very quickly and helpfully and I was having fun.

This game is very different from AC1, it has different graphics, different gameplay, and different items. Many of the towns have no NPCs and that would make you think they are deserted but now with item crafting there really is no need for NPCs, most towns if not all have many different workshops and forges and each one has around 10 people standing next to it, usually trading and crafting.

Many people say that this game has no storyline but yes it does have a story, it has a great story. The story is layed out in a BIG quest made up of vaults. Vaults are mysterious dungeons that unlock the secrets of what happened to Dereth. There are over 20 vaults and when you complete each vault it unlocks a little cinematic clip. I haven't completed every vault yet but im on my 6th one and it's great.

The music in Asherons Call 2 is amazing. Its not battle music like in Dark Age of Camelot but instead it's soothing music that makes you feel like you are in dreamland..... until a giant Tyrant kills you. The sounds are also amazing, from the sound of monsters to the sound of a Tumerok(one of the three races in Asherons Call 2) playing a drum, its all good.

The crafting system is very easy and powerful. You can make dyes, make armor, make weapons, make tools, and make some other stuff. Usually crafted items are much better than looted items. Almost everyone crafts and many of those people are very nice and would gladly craft you an item if you are new.

The combat system is like the Dark Age of Camelot combat system but a bit better. The way you raise skills is awesome, it's like the skill tree in Diablo 2 but you can also untrain skills so it can be impossible for you to be gimped. The skills are all equally balanced despite what other people say. The three races which are Human, Lugian, and Tumerok are also equally balanced.

The graphics are of course amazing even on low quality.... so enough said about that. The bugs and glitches are about the same as in Dark Age of Camelot now so enough said about that also.

There are 2 types of player versus player combat. The first one is Free For All which is the one like in Asherons Call and Everquest. The other type of player versus player is Kingdom vs. Kingdom which is basically like RvR from Dark Age of Camelot but the Kingdoms aren't based on location, they are not based on race or class, and there are no level requirements to go out on the battlefield and compete in massive team combat. Kingdoms also battle for wealth such as minerals and stuff.

One of the most exciting things about AC2 that make you keep coming back for more are the monthly patches, also known as episodes. Each monthly patch changes the bad things and adds good things, they can change the whole game into how the majority of players like it just like they changed AC1. The episodes also add new quests, vaults, items, monsters, etc.

I hope my review helps and I hope it changes your mind about this game.

Summary: It is a blast.
Review: I've played AC1 for a few hundred levels on various characters, 2 characters on DAoC to 50 & played AO for not to long.

After you play AC2 for awhile you realize that this game is actually more complex & fun then the others. It takes awhile to grasp why this is so, but when you do the game rocks.

Amazing graphics (you are gonna need at mimum a decent computer)

Slaughtering endless counts of monsters is not a must since the quests & vaults provide much better xp & offer a nice diversion from killing critters.

Great Crafting system once you start to understand it & advance your skills.

Excellent PvP gameplay at later levels.

Turbine is well known for doing some of the best monthly content updates in the industry, and they havc twice the staff to do this in ac2 then they did in ac1, so you can expect great updates monthly.
