Summary: Most boring game I've ever played
Review: Okay, I loved the original AC, but that's about it when it comes to MMORPGs, they are repetitive, and simply boring.

AC2 is no difference. Hack, slash, loot, repeat.

-But this time you don't even have towns, because Turbine felt players didn't want to do the boring town runs, they'd rather power level 24/7.

-You don't have NPCs, because talking stones make much more sense.

-Although you have many character customization options, everyone looks the same. Why? because everyone wears the same armor.

-Not only all armor looks exactly alike, it's also useless. You'll find dozens of people fighting naked.

-The game is 100% level based, instead of skill based. A level 20 has no chance whatsoever beating a level 26 in PvP.

-The quests are ultimately useless. This was implemented to encourage the fun hack, slash, repeat, game style(no need to loot, armor is useless, and you only need 1 weapon).

-Oh ya, you only need 1 weapon. Nope, no weapon types, damage types, elements, etc. Just pick this weapon that does all kind of damage and press the attack button.

-The chat interface is confusing and unclear. Most people don't even bother to chat. Text color is fixed, so is background color of chat log.

-You need a fellowship to advance in this game, but there's no fellowship finder. Makes sense.

-Fellowship window doesn't show all stats, and updates slowly.

-The world size is decent, but it's filled with water structures, and mountines. The actual playable land mass is small.

-Characters movement is sloppy and rigid.

-The graphics are really nice, that's why it gets 2 stars.

Every point I stated above is valid, but you'll always find people liking the game "just cause".
I say save yourself 50$, and give the game few months to develope before even considering buying it.

Summary: Dont believe the Hype Either way.
Review: First off to clear things up there is Alot of fantasy on both sides. The game is fun, but currently lacks depth. The beta is very bare bones and there are core issues that need fixed. On the up side Turbine has a very established track record of adding content. If they fix the core issues, Chat being my biggest pet peeve for items that need correction, the game has good potential.

A lot of the haters are AC1 fans who simply wanted a reworked AC1. This is a different game very loosely based on the lore of AC1 that is it.

Summary: ac2 beta testers review
Review: AC2 has become a stable and fun game to play. Once you get into the game and really look at it you find out it has more depth to combat from level 1-15 is one style of game from 15-25 is another ETC. ETC.. Each level spaceing opens up a new area to play in and new skills that you can use, and depending on how you equip yourself and utilize your skills will make the game easy or hard, but either way you can never make a mistake since you are allowed to untrain skills that dont fit your play style.

Summary: fun game, lots of promise
Review: Turbine and MS have hit a home run with AC2. It's already very stable and fun in beta, and we can expect lots of content, quests, and good ol' monster killing in the months to come. Asherons Call 2 will be a new game every month.

Summary: Its still in beta people.
Review: I felt I must post and defend this game. There are alot of people posting saying the game is no good. But it is still in beta so how do they know it will not be a good game? I know the "its a beta excuse" doesnt hold much weight with most people but give me a break. There are people saying its the worst mmorpg ever! I have played DAoC, AO, AC, and UO. so far this game is already better then DAoC and AO IMO. At release It whould be about as good as AC was. But it isnt near as good as UO was in the early days. No game since has had that kind of content and role playing. Still its not fair to compare to UO becuase this isnt really in the same catagory as UO. they are 2 totally diffrent games.

I have played the beta for about 2 months now. I really like the game.

First thing that is good(everyone agrees on this) is the graffics.

Combat: Simular to DAoC as far as tehre are special skills you can use when fighting. There are many more unique skill them in DAoC though.

Content: there isnt much content as of now.(it is beta after all) I am not worried about content though becuase AC had very good monthly updates and I expect alot from the updates in AC2. Most of the quests really just seem to be testing the quest sytem. There isnt much story behind them there like; go there, do this, then go do this, this and this and get this out of it. But the accuall machanics of the quests do work.

Items: Crafted items seem the best. especially crafted weapons. they have higher damage for there level then you normally find as loot. There are quite a few enchanted weapons to be found in the game but again, this is beta expect alot more added later. They have a live team dedicated to adding items ,quests and overall content.

Fun factor: The game is fun. Combat is fun especially when you get to a higher level whre you have alot of skills to use. The leveling is WAY to slow at this point. It seems that they went from way to easy to way to hard to level. Hopefully they will find a nice medium soon.

Overall the game is solid. All I care about is haveing a playable fun game at release. Hopefully they fix most of the balance issues by the end of beta. I admit there are problems but not nearly as bad as the haters make out. This will be a solid game after release. When the updates start rolling in everymonth alot of people are going to change there minds.

Summary: Wonder virtual world. Refreshing.
Review: I'm currently in the beta, and have been playing for a week now.
I am hooked, I have never had so much fun with a game before. Between interacting with others to complete quests, to chalenging each other to a duel.
For graphics this game is spectacular. I've yet to see better. It does require a highend video card for the best look and a fast i-net connection, but it is worth it.

Summary: Great and Getting Better
Review: I've been beta testing for 2 months now and have seen this game go from rough outline to contender. Great concepts, breathtaking visuals, an easily expandable world, original creatures, nuanced combat, and a new storyline help Asheron's Call 2 stand out amongst the rest of the 2nd Generation of Multiplayer Online Games. Once this thing takes off in November, there's no limit to where it can take you. Enjoy.

Summary: Expecting a lot of fun
Review: The game is bilt "around" mouth patches, everything will be very easy to "modulate" for devellopers. So even if the "base" seems a little poor, i expect a lot of fun in AC2

Summary: For those reading these reviews.. you need to remember
Review: The beta that most people are commenting is not indicative of the way the game will function come retail.

Yes, some of the GUI elements and other things will stay the same, but AC1's legacy to AC2 is its very inventive monthly patch content team, which as of now has not shown itself in beta at all.

If you are reading these, wait till new reviews come in after the end of beta event Oct 31 - Nov 3 and see if people change their tune.

AC has the best reputation for monthly updates, but the worst reputation for CoC enforcement, which will change entire for AC2 due to increased financial resources for +admin staff.

I look forward to this game, knowing what Turbine is capable of delivering on an ongoing basis.. something you will NOT see in any other game in the genre on the market.

Summary: ASHERON'S CALL II TAKES MMP GAMING TO A NEW LEVEL
Review: Those that enjoyed Asheron's Call will find some of the creature's names familiar, but that is about it. Asheron's Call II combines the best of Asheron's Call and other popular massively multiplayer online games. The graphics are incredible and the environment truly comes to life, as each component seems to move independently. Game play is considerably different than the original. For example, hunting will require new strategies and tactics to account for a much-improved monster AI. The land mass is smaller than the original Dereth, however traversing the continent will keep even the most adventurous on their toes and prove much more challenging than Asheron's Call. Although solo adventuring is possible (and enjoyable), character interaction in this game is required to fully appreciate all of the aspects. Player interaction drives much of this game - from purchasing goods and services to developing towns. Again "grouping" will not be required to enjoy the game, however it should be noted that over time characters of power would be able to affect the very landscape. I highly recommend this adventure to anyone familiar with online gaming and caution those who pick this up as their first - other games will only disappoint.
