Summary: Man this is fun!
Review: This game Rocks. I am not into multi-player games, but I started playing this and can't stop. This is one of those games that only comes along once every couple years. Make sure you have at least a DSL connection or Cable Modem. 56k is not enough. be warned, If you buy it for single player only, you will end up wanting a broadband internet connection.I am running this game on a 500mhz AMD athlon with 192 Megs, and a Geforce 2 64 Meg PCI and it runs great, and looks good. I have a cable modem as well. Buy this if you have a brodband connection. You will love it!

Summary: Bury me with this game...........
Review: First of all, I am not a glutton for first person shooters, team based or otherwise. I played Return to Castle Wolfenstein's Multiplay for a few months last year, but eventually it became redundant and I moved on to other games such as Freedom Force, Neverwinter Nights, and GTA III. The Team Based shooter genre needed a game of this caliber in order to pull me back in, and let me tell you, hands down this is THE best Game, shooter, RPG or otherwise that i've played in awhile. I have seen some reviews blasting this game due to compatability issues, but I had no problems on both systems I own, one running WIn 98 SE and the other running Win XP.
BF 1942 offers a single player mode(which I've pretty much ignored) but the multi play is the real kicker here. Be sure you have a Broadband or DSL connection, as it is required to play. And play you will. This game offers 16 multiplayer maps, each one recreating a classic WWII battle that places you in the middle of the conflict as one of five somewhat typical, but thoroughly enjoyable character classes. There are modes of play such as CTF, Head to Head, Team Deathmatch, etc. but the most fun is the assault mode, which is similar to Unreal Tourament's domination mode(teams battle for control of several flags placed throughout a map). There are over 35 vehicles at you disposal, ranging from Naval Battle ships, to Sherman Tanks, to Planes, to artillery, and so on. Piloting each vehicle requires a little bit of practice, but becomes second nature after awhile as the controls aren't extrememly daunting, and it is ALWAYS fun. The developers made sure that nothing is too complicated and have thus engineered a sublte learning curve to the game. The physics are very different than most shooters because gravity actually plays a part in everything you do. Bullets, Bazooka shots, tank shells and artillery fire descend in an arc the further out they travel, so no more 'line it up in the crosshairs and blast 'em' action. This makes it very satisfying when you do score a kill, as it requires a little more skill than in most other games. I could gush on and on, but i will let you, the faithful buyer, discover the rest for yourself.

Summary: Battlefield 1942
Review: I bought this game about a couple of months ago and when I first played I was impressed with the game play and your choice of being a medic, infantry,so on so forth. After a while i realized that the framerate was horrible, or in other words it was freezy A LOT!! If you moved the mouse it would go a mile of to the other side of the screen. I had all the right requirments but it just froze to much. I bought a gaming magazine,( Gamepro)and they said the same thing i said. The framerate is way to slow. In my case check if you have the right video cards and sound blasters, but if i were anybody else i wouldn't buy it. The gameplay was very well done but the graphics were a little choppy. I would just stick to Medal of Honor and get amazing results.

Summary: Not bad.. Not bad guys
Review: Could be better. The choppiness was a problem until I found servers closer to me. I use gamespy 3D (not arcade) and am satisfied with the servers I found. Some I even ping sub100 with ISDN!

The graphics have been turned to low settings. I have a Geforce 4 and expected better. Still it's not to shabby. Glad I purchased the game.

I anxiously await the additional patches.

Summary: What they don't tell you!
Review: The game overall is great..........as long as you don't go online with dial up. They don't tell you that if you dont have a broadband connection you won't get online to play. Also you have to have a powerful computer and lots of memory.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: For those of who you have problems w/ framerate:
Review: Some people have had a huuuuuuge problem with battlefield running at a halfway decent framerate. Namely, whenever you get close to another player in the game, it gets really choppy. If you have this problem, search for an application called dxdiag. Open it and go to the 'sound' tab, and reduce your sound acceleration all the way down to nothing. The game will run much, much better.

Review: To play this game, you "MUST HAVE" NVIDIA GeForce4, GeForce3, GeForce2, GeForce256, ATI Randeon 8500, Randeon 7500, Radeon, Matrox Pathelia. If you don't, don't try!

Summary: Worst game ever
Review: I have a pent 4 1.7 geforce3 still worse lag i have ever experiened. Don't buy this game unless you have a powerful system. Even when it ran decently it was still boring. I would NOT suggest this game to anyone

Summary: Not ready for prime time yet...
Review: Unfortunatly the horror stories of glitches and lock-ups for some computers applied for me this time. I got the game to run only by turning everything down to stupid. Even though I downloaded the v1.1 patch, the graphics effects never did materialize and although I could see the potential behind the poor performance, nothing I could do would bring it to life. I have a P-III 800mhz with 256k ram, Rage Furry Max 128 video card, Sound Blaster and 32x CD ROM - not good enough I guess. I also disliked their suggested "Ctrl-Alt-Delete-turn all the background programs off" hassle ( which did no good ) and will wait to see if the up comming patches address this unstable program's bugs. Operation Flashpoint worked fine right out of the box and so should this one.
