Summary: Buy only if you use multiplayer
Review: BF1942 is my favorite game for the pc right now. I was excited that there was going to be an expansion, but disappointed that not that much was 'expanded'. New vehicles, maps, French and Italian forces, and fixed bayonets for engineers are the only things new for this game. I was looking forward to the single play campaign, but the game doesn't even incorporate the new maps into it. I think that the designers could have added a little more to make it worth buying. If you like multiplayer gaming, maybe you should buy this game, but still, it seems like a lot for so little.

Summary: Best War Simulation Game EVER!
Review: This game is tuley the best war simulation game ever! You fight your way to victory in the most intense battles of World War II.
You can take control of every vehicle from battleships, to tanks, to aircraft carriers and much more. The game has 35 veichles in it and 20 real life weapons. You can be the victorious Allies(USA/Britain/Russia) or the ruthless Axis (Germans/Japanese)in 4 theatres of the war: The South Pacific, Northern Africa, and Eastern and Western Europe. You can also play online against friends using GameSpy.
Now the expansion pack, Road to Rome, is available. Road to Rome focuses on the Italian and Sicilian campagnis in World War II. It gives you 8 new vehicles, 2 new figting forces (French and Italian armies), and new hand held weapons.

Summary: I like it too...
Review: This game inspired me to create a FAQ, annotate the maps and put them online, create an extensive tips and tactics page, and create a weapons effects chart, to name a few things...P>What makes the game wonderful is all the vehicles and fixed weapons. One of my most memorable early games involved driving a destroyer down the coast, jumping out into a landing craft as it was sinking, landing and stealing an enemy tank, then capturing an enemy outpost with this tank. Wonderful!

Yes, there are some bugs that have mostly been fixed... under the game's options, you can change mouse sensitivity. I *do* recommend having a GeForce4 ti (not MX) at least to fully enjoy this game - a good graphics card makes a difference, and this game is a great excuse to upgrade.

Summary: Too many things in no depth
Review: I'm not saying this is not a good game. But certainly this is NOT one of the best WW2 games. Yes, it has almost everything you want to see in battle. Infantry, tanks, bombers, fighters, aircraft carriers, jeeps and so on. But it fails to make players feel the thrill of battlefield and experience WW2. In BF1942, all weapons and equipments are too simple and unreal. Moreover, it is ridiculous that you can identify friend/foe with name tags from a distance. Well... enjoyable if you don't know about WW2 and don't care the reality of battlefield. But this is not for WW2 fans like me.

Summary: Need plenty of ram
Review: It's a great game, but you do need at least 512m ram. Even a 2g proccessor with only 256m won't cut it.

Summary: Great Game, but...
Review: BF1942 was one of the best games of the year. When I heard about BF1942 expansion Road to Rome I couldn't wait to get it. But when I had purchased this game and went home to play it it I was sort of disappointed because there wasn't that much of a change from the original BF1942 and only a few things were added. Most of the vehicles were almost the same except with a little modification and that you can't use the new vehicles on the old maps. Overall the expansion was well worth the price and no matter what this game is still one of the best.

Summary: its battlefield 1942 and more
Review: This game is everything you ever would want in battlefield 1942 and more. EA has included a handful of new planes, armies and weapons. a fun little weapon they included was the bayonet which is fun to turn a corner and find an enemy and get him. If you have a beefy computer and the original battlefield 1942, buy this expansion pack. if you dont have the original battlefield, buy it and road to rome. Trust me it's well worth your money

Summary: The best of the best
Review: This game is great! Don't buy this if you have a significant other... they'll get sick of watching you sit at the computer for hours on end. After reading the reviews, I did also have some stability problems when I first played it, but having the most up to date drivers solved those problems. I have this running on both an older AMD 850MHz with Via chipset... and a 2.8GHz P4 with Intel chipset. A good NVIDIA Ti 4600 in the 850Mhz makes it very playable (Make sure to have a large P/S of at least 350W if you do this). Anyhow I hope the Road to Rome exp is just as good or better! :)

Summary: Oohmygod!! It rocks!
Review: I dont really have the time to write this because I got to get back to that Italian hill to decimate the number of Germans hindering me and my French brave soldiers way up to Monte Cassino!

For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, BF42 is a revolution in online gaming, a revolution which is enhanced by this expansion pack. After having bought this, you will probably put away your old games for a while. This game sets a new standard when it comes to total liberty in a game. It's a feeling that anything is possible. You drive a tank, steal a plane, blow up a jeep and all this while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Italy and listening to hectic commands on the radio from your fellow soldiers and the agonizing cries of your enemies dying around you...

Come join the battle!
