Review: A really great and underrated game.
When it comes to games in this genre - Broken Sword, Day of the Tenticle, Grim fandango etc - Curse of Monkey Island is the very best. I have never had so much fun playing any game, even when compared to the latest 3D games. It's addicting and fun and funny and smart and stupid. Smartly stupid. It doesn't have much to offer in terms of graphix because it looks like a cartoon - but really that's the whole point - the graphics suit the game just perfectly and offer plenty of artful backgrounds with a lot of color.
At fist glance this game seems a little childish, but as you play your way through it you encounter many tough obstacles that you really have to think to get yourself out of. Although, sometimes you have to solve a particular problem by doing something or combining something that makes absolutely no sence, which adds to the comedy factor, but can also be anoying if you've spent hours trying to get past it.
This game is a must-play for anyone who had fun playing the old Maniac Mansion games, and for anyone who enjoys fun games that can make them laugh out loud.

Summary: Go buy the first 2 or Full Throttle if you want a great game
Review: Am I the only fan of the first 2 games that doesn't like this one? C'mon, underneath the funny intro, the vastly improved graphics and sound and the overall presentaition of the game, is there really a game that lives up to the first 2? I would have to say no. The graphics, as good as they are, are way too cartoony. The jokes (aside from the intro) are either not funny or are non-existent. The puzzles are almost all really obscure. The plot is incredibly cliched (save the governer - AGAIN). I can't help but feel that had this been released almost immediately after LeChuck's Revenge with the same graphics and sound that it would be scorned apon compared to the other two. Generally, I don't find this at all fun to play. Adventure games are one of the few genres where older games are still good for the simple reason that they don't need superb graphics or the latest technology. They need good puzzles and a good plot. They need you to get engaged in the characters. Just check out the first two games and ignore the lack of technology - they are much better. My favourite adventure game though would still have to be Full Throttle. Now THERE'S a game.

Review: Another adventure game from Lucas Arts filled with humor, good puzzles and hours of entertainment. Hard enough for those who want to enjoy a good adventure game. The answers to the puzzles are very singular, but not exotic. I mean, you can imagine what is going on. The game is not 3D, which gives it a special taste, especially for those who don't like the 3D interfaces of the newest games. Besides, the Curse of Monkey Island has a lot of background information about the past adventures of the Monkey Island series, so that the player does not need a lot of non-available information.
Very good for those who like adventure and a good game to have in your collection.

Review: As a long time fan of the monkey island games, I was at first a little skeptical as to whether this game would live up to the previouse two, which, though the graphics were lacking, contained great story lines that made you want to play and laugh all over again. However it took about 5 minutes into the game before I realized that this one was exactly like the other two. With it's interesting, and quite humoruse story line, it's cool tropical music, and it's blatant parodies to the various works of Gorge Lucas, Everyone is sure to love this swashbuckling tale of adventure. And if you don't, we'll lock you in a room with Murry.

Review: CMI is propbably one of the best monkey islabd games! I love all of them but this just tops em all! The strory is as follows: Guybush Threepwood the swashbuckling pirate is back to Melee island. To find Elane tuned to gold! So he has to bring her back before the evil ghost pirate Le Chuck Makes her his Deamon Bride! I suggjest this game for evryone!

This is one of the best advneture games I've ever played, other than Myst and The Longest Journey, which were very exciting games to play too! Anyway this review is about Curse of Monkey Island (Jewel Case) and I shall stick to that. Storyline: Guybrush Threepwood stupidity has caused him to turn Elaine Marely into gold and he must rescue her from the evil demon pirate LeChuck. What's so nice about Curse of Monkey Island (Jewel Case)? For starters : humour. This game keeps you laughing from the start to the end. With it's incredibly funny puns and the way the game pokes fun at today's culture ( such as the THX ad ) makes Curse of Monkey Island (Jewel Case) one heck of an enjoyable game to play! Playing Curse of Monkey Island (Jewel Case) was like playing a giant interactive cartoon movie! Comical high resolution graphics really gives you an unforgettable exprience. The game interface is easy to learn. Basically, Curse of Monkey Island (Jewel Case) is a point and click graphic adventure. For example, if you wanted Guybrush to examine an item, all you have to do is click on the item, drag your pointer to the skull that appears and voila! Guybrush will tell you in full detail all about the item and it's usefulness. The sound and voice talent is FANTASTIC! The music of Curse of Monkey Island (Jewel Case) really makes you feel as if you are in the Carribean. The voice acting is great. The characters in the game were brought to life with the incredible voice acting done by many many talented actors. As with most adventure games, Curse of Monkey Island (Jewel Case) is a puzzle based game. Collect items and combine them to solve many well integrated puzzles in the game. Frustrating at times, but the sense of being able to slove the puzzles keeps you going. Curse of Monkey Island (Jewel Case)comes in two modes, one easier than the other. Curse of Monkey Island (Jewel Case) is a classic. With its new low price this is one game that is value for your monkey... I mean money. It is a refreshing game that steers away from the other 3D first person shooter games in the market and with it's delightful humour, this game will ease all your tension after a hard day's work. Summary: Great game for the entire family
Review: Curse of Monkey Island is the third in the popular adventure series, Monkey Island, which started with the 'Secret Of Monkey Island'. Is this better than first or the second? Yup. The game has two difficulty levels, one for people who are more puzzle inclined and one for people who aren't. The two modes are great and there is some variety between the two so you can play it easy and then re-play it hard. The games jokes are hilarous, from the "evil" talking skull Murray to the vegitarian cannibals, the jokes don't stop. Another great feature of this game is the fact that it is impossible to die. So you can experiment all you want with whatever inventory items or walking into a evil pirate's lair or such and you won't be killed. This game is highly recommended for anyone, even if they never played the first two. It is great!
