Summary: They are still working on it!
Review: These guys who reviewed before me wrote one or two days after release. Funcom has men working on server issues and bugs 24/7 and everyday improve by leaps and bounds. It really is a great game, you just need to have the patience to sit still while they patch every little detail up.

Summary: A rough start but getting better.
Review: The first week or so of Anarchy Online was pretty rough. Servers going down, patches and lag. All the standard stuff we've come to expect when a game of this nature launches. Funcom has made amazing progress in a week. As I type this, my wife is playing the game, as she has been all day. A few disconnects but otherwise it's fully playable. And what a fun game to play it is! I quit playing Everquest over a month ago, I got bored with the constant camping, begging for groups and corpse runs. AO has eliminated these annoyances with a very unique mission system. The graphics are amazing, much better than the screens for the upcoming Shadows of Luclin. The fighting system is lots of fun and best of all NO CAMPING! I think this game will hold my interest for quite a while. (The downside is my wife may never let me play again, she's already told me to cancel her EQ account!)

Summary: Anarchy Is Awesome, When you are able to play it
Review: The actual gameplay of Anarchy Online is spectacular and really fun to play. The graphics are gorgeous and the sound is music to your ear. The reason I only gave this game 4 stars was because the stability of AO is terrible. You pretty much have a 50/50 chance of getting on to it. Or once you've logged on there also is a good chance that the server will crash. Luckily FUNCOM has been working on this problem so it seems that it is definetly getting better. Overall AO is definitely the Ever Quest killer when it comes to the actual game. In a month when everything is patched AO will be one breath taking game that everyone should pick up.

Summary: Startup Troubles
Review: Apparently the CD Key codes have been hacked. Funcom will require proof of purchase and I strongly urge anyone who orders this to save all receipts both electronically and paper.

Summary: Major disappointment
Review: I played beta. I bought a copy and muddled through a horrific first-day-of-release installation. I was able to create and play my character through a variety of expected first-week glitches. But now we're in week 2, and the game is all but unplayable - I cannot zone, I cannot go on the newbie missions, and I cannot leave the backyard where I was "born." I have gotten no responses to my petitions and bug reports, and I cannot get onto the AO website to pass on these thoughts. Let me suggest this: hold off on buying this game until you see all the gaming community - the *players* - come out with positive reviews saying this has all changed. Pity.. I was really looking forward to this game.

Review: Okay, just going to give you the good and the bad... The graphics, gameplay, character creation, settings, missions, are all great. This is what all MMORPGs should aspire to be. Now the bad, and there is a lot of bad. Can only play for around 15 minutes until the server(s) stop responding, or the server crashes, or they take it down for patching, and you lose all the experience you've been acquiring. Once they get it stable, it will be fantastic. Just the frustration is getting to me, but it is good enough for me to keep trying anyway. Again, I would get this as soon as it is stable. Not a moment before. Do not become another tester that will get burned on this, or burned out.

Summary: New program: Bugs: Poor Privacy Policy: Credit Card required
Review: This product doesn't seem to be put out by a U.S. company and, as such, doesn't seem to follow simple, established e-business protocol. In addition, the game seems to have bugs that crop up even before you can play the game.

Cases in point:

*-* You must enter in your full address and credit card data, just to try the game out. *-* Your credit card is automatically billed each month, forever. There are no instructions on how to stop or quit. *-* Web site doesn't by default redirect you to a secure page to enter in your credit card data, so a large number of users (including you?) might have their credit card numbers sent half-way around the world to Oslo without encryption. *-* Funcom has no posted privacy policy. Who knows what data they're selling of yours. They're not even a member of BBBOnline or TRUSTe *-* Game servers may be overloaded and you might not be able to play when you want to play... but you still have to pay

My advice is to wait a few months until this company gets it's act together, otherwise you may find yourself getting more than you might think from this service.

Summary: Anarchy OFFLNIE
Review: To start this off let me say that in no way am I a basher of AO or Funcom. This game has such great potential it is bursting out of its seems! ... You get into this GIGANTIC world and you are literatly amazed at the size of everything! Not only that but the graphics are just incredible for this game thus I reccomend a higher-end system because sometimes in the cities your Frame Rate can drop to as low as 8.5/sec! The emotes are plentiful and run VERY smooth, some are even down right hilarious! For example, typing /moon will make your charector appear like he is dropping his pants and mooning you. Or another is /ymca where he will literatly break out into dancing the YMCA! If this game currently did not have the bugs it did I would have easily gave it 5 stars but because of these bugs I had to drop it down a little.

Once Funcom works out all the tinks the game will work great and will easily become the next big contender in the world of MMPORPGs!

Summary: Anarchy Online is a game that cannot be passed up
Review: I have been an avid player of Everquest and Asheron's call for the past year and a half or so. Both were good... but both needed major improvements in many areas. The first time I heard of Anarchy Online, I thought that it would share the same problems that EQ and AC have. Surprisingly, AO doesn't. If you want a rough sketch of what Anarchy Online is like, then think of a MMORPG, set in space, where all the frustrations of EQ and AC have been completely taken out, the put back in, morphing them into great features. FunCom obviously studied EQ and AC, because everything that was BAD about those two games exist in AO, however, those bad features are actually very useful when implemented properly. The game has been out only for a week or so, which simply means a lot of server problems. These similar server problems happened to both EQ and AC when they first were released and have been completely fixed, as will AO's servers very soon. The gameplay in AO is excellent. Everything is well though out, balanced and (finally) fun to play. One thing that almost scared me was the amount of music this game has. Pretty much ever area that you're in, there will be music which suits the setting perfectly. It scared me since AC has no music at all, and EQ has some music which is really crappy. Simply put, AO is a godsend in the sound department. The graphics are much better than in any other MMORPG- much more detailed and fluid. There is too many good things to write about in this review, but let me leave you with this: Right now (right after release), the servers are crap. They WILL be fixed, and when they are, AO will blow every other MMORPG straight out of the water. AO deserves 5 stars, since it is the closest MMORPG to perfection so far.
