Rating: Summary: The BEST MMORPG! Review: Let's see... the only game possible to compare this to would be Everquest. While I'm not a big fan of EQ (I play AC mostly) I find that DoaC has taken all the good parts of EQ - and then improved them dramatically! In addition, whilst I've not yet been able to actually take part in PvP - it is increasingly clear that there is no better PvP game on the market or in the near future market!! Choose a realm: Hibernia, Albion or Midgard, then defend it from attackers, or try to gain territory by attacking the enemy. With a somewhat standard number of races to choose from, each with their own weaknesses and strenghts, and a varying degree of classes - everyone can enjoy this game Throw in a easy to use grouping system that makes finding a group seem like childsplay. In fact, it's so easy that it only took me about 10 - 15 minutes to learn nearly every function available to me at a low level (us testers don't have much of a manual). If you're completely new to the online gaming market it may be a bit more difficult and require a few minutes in the manual that will be shipped with the game. So far this game has the right direction, speed and curve to come out on top!

Rating: Summary: Looks good Review: a multiuser online game, in the mode of Everquest, based on the Arthurian legends. Players can join the Albion, Hiburnia or Midgard realms. The realms war on each other for territory, with player vs player fighting simulating the dark age war for control of Britain by Briton, Irish and Viking tribes. A wide range of races and classes available, including warriors, wizards, thieves, druids, bards and clerics.
Rating: Summary: The Game That Will Kill All Other MMORPG's! Review: I've had the great honor to beta test this game for almost a year and I can't say anything else than WOW! This game is so amazing! The RPG feeling is extreme! The game has all the wanted aspects. The game is based on three different realms, Albion, Midgard and my personal favorite, Hibernia. All different realms has their own races and classes. There is really too much to write in here! I just give you the simple advice to BUY THIS GAME! And buy it quick! It rocks so much! ....
Rating: Summary: Everquest without the crappy parts Review: If you liked Everquest, you will absolutely love this game. It is similar in premise, but better in execution. Like EQ, DAoC is a fantasy multiplayer role playing game with a huge world, plenty of interaction, lots of monsters, spells, quests and things to do. However, they obviously learned from EQ's mistakes. There is no twinking, no camping and a well developed pvp that you can choose to participate in or not as you wish. There are three distinct worlds, each with their own classes, spells, items, mobs, etc. that border on each other and compete against each other in pvp on the borderlands. And unlike Anarchy Online, this game actually works. All reports from beta are that the game runs smooth and lag free. You will not be disappointed in this one.
Rating: Summary: Beta tester who can't say enough about this game! Review: As a beta tester for this game for the last few months I can tell you that fans of MMPORPG are in for a treat and Evercrack addicts have a new dealer to get a fix from. Camelot is truly a new generation of fantasy online game. It takes everything that is great about EQ and UO and brings in effective questing and PvP that works. The graphics are awesome! It's great to finally have a game that can take over the mantle of best online game and give us all a new world of challenges.
Rating: Summary: Thoughts after day one Review: I enjoy it very much so far. By the way as someone who played(or not as the case maybe) EQ, AC, and AO on their first day, Dark age of Camelot has had an amazingly stable launch. Rough idea with DAoC is all all players on server pick one of three realms. Albion:English, Hibernia:Celtic, Midgard:Viking The main focus of the game is to have the players of these 3 realms fight with each other. This isn't sane until you reach a lowish middle level ~20 (level cap is 50 currently). The game has large quests, usually made up of 3 or more steps, and small quests, task they are called which a single step. It features crafting which is in not depentant on character level, and is very anti Carpal Tunnel (Crafting skills depentant on having items in bulk, using skills on timers). Still little problems on thier launch day, bigest one being none of the thief classes are actually complete.
Rating: Summary: Try the rest, but come back to the best Review: Without question, this is the ruler of all other MMORPG's. Why? Here we go (in no particular order)...(1) Most realistic looking world - not cartoony, overly colorful, or too "fantastical" like other games are - the scenery could almost make you believe that you are there. (2) Best selection of classes and customization - an extremely balanced game that still presents numerous distinctly different classes. NO other game offers as much variety. (3) Sweet graphics, great sounds. Excellent sound variety completes the atmosphere. In particular, the dungeons have echo, water, music, ghostly undead whispering, etc. Graphical effects, such as shimmering water reflections, are on par with the best of them. Water is reminiscent of Morrowind, cobwebs are disturbed by drafts in dungeons, ever-changing weather effects, etc. Enough cannot be said. (4) Excellent selection of grouping choices. Form chat groups, combat groups, guilds - clear, distinct, with numerous settings you can customize. (5) Fun selection of monsters. Some you have heard of, like werewolfs, etc., others you have never heard of or even imagined, like naburite drinkers, for instance. (6) Excellent system for judging mob difficulty - a unique color system that soon becomes second nature, judge the difficulty and benefits of attacking a particular mob, at a glance. (7) A crafting system that actually has meaning! Make unique weapons, enchant them, sell them for gold! A nice little side diversion to regular "hunting". (8) Fun RvR. Goal oriented objectives, like capturing enemy keeps for notoriety and benefits, as well as 'regular' head-on confrontations. Nothing beats a human opponent! (9) Cooperation is encouraged more in this game than any other I have seen. You WANT to team up, rather than being forced to, or going solo. Truly a social game. (10) FUN! Impossible to describe, but after trying all the other games, I only found myself comparing them to this one, and none matching it. Try it out - you will be hooked !!
Rating: Summary: Very addictive Review: This game can be difficult to get into. I used to play Everquest and I will make comparisons in this review. DAoC players appear more serious about the game than Everquest players. Everyone seems pretty much focused on the game-playing aspect, and for this reason, it can be hard to meet people. It felt like it took people a long time to trust new players, and because I play such online games for social interaction, I was disappointed by this. Occasionally it was possible to play with really great people, but often such groups would split at the end of the night and you wouldn't see them again. DAoC certainly has beautiful graphics, and its theme is well-grounded in Western mythology. As a student of all three areas that DAoC is based on, I enjoyed that aspect of reality. The names of the NPCs, the place-names, the classes - it was all very consistent. The manual is quite limited, and much of the gameplay is learned from other players. It can be quite hard to ask technical questions, however, if you choose a Roleplaying server. Stick with a regular server for your first character or you may be scolded for talking "out of character." Roleplaying servers however are great for those of us who do not enjoy 3l33t-speak and want to get completely into our characters. In the end, I quit playing because it became too frustrating to play with my limited time. One death could set me back three hours and I do not have that much time to invest in a game. Evaluating DAoC, I would say that it is a very deep game with a devoted playerbase without many of the problems EQ suffered from. However, it requires a strong time investment and a willingness to take on the steep learning curve.
