Rating: Summary: The Best Review: I consider Homeworld to be one, if not the, best games i have ever played. Its graphics are sharp and clear, and its strory will keep you glued to the computer screen. If you do not buy this game, you are missing a great experience.
Rating: Summary: Must... Stop... Playing... Review: I haven't even finished it yet (it's been ages since I started) but this game is wonderful; the ship designs, the full-3D perspective and the interface all work together to create an incredible game. The in-game music is hauntingly wonderful as well.
Rating: Summary: Oh yeah! Review: Just got this game last week, boy do I wish I got it when it first came out! I don't know why everyone says it's hard to learn, I had no trouble. I have to admit the AI lacks, but it's still very fun over a LAN. =)
Rating: Summary: Buy the game Review: The game is great in all dimensions - storyline, graphics, interface, strategy. With a little thought and planning you can build and/or capture a giant armada to ovewhelm the enemies. Or use stealth and cunning to accomplish each mission. The AI is great and adjusts to keep the game challenging no matter what tactics and skills you use. The interface allows you to issue group orders to lots of ships or quickly switch to an indivdual ship and give specific instructions. Follow the battles from any 3D perspective and distance, or zoom in to an individual ship and watch the action. I can't wait for the release of the sequel. Don't read any more of this review - go buy the game.
Rating: Summary: The Best 3D Strategy game yet Review: The game has the best graphics i've ever seen in a 3D stategy game i tip my hat off to sierra for this game.
Rating: Summary: Nice graphics, lacking in depth Review: At first glance, Homeworld is one of the greatest games of all time. It gives you the rare opportunity to command vast fleets of various ships, in full 3D. The controls work like a dream. The graphics are among the best around, and it will be a long time before anyone does a game more visually stunning. But (there's always a 'but') the effort spent on graphics seems to have come at the expense of gameplay. Apart from being 3D in space, the game does little out of the ordinary. The research section is very basic. The campaign is completely linear, and it's the same no matter which of the two races you choose. In fact, there isn't much difference between the races at all. Being in space, there isn't much you can do in terms of terrain, and there's no base-building at all. Homeworld would have benifitted from something else. Asteroids and planets, for example, that aren't just part of the scenery, and customizeable units (a la Warzone 2100). As it stands, Homeworld is fun for a while, but after a month or so, you'll yearn for something more involved.
Rating: Summary: homeworld Review: From the Command & Conquer series to Warzone, you name it and I've probably played it. But I have never enjoyed playing a game as much as Homeworld The unique story line combined with the amazing graphics and gameplay quickly made this my favorite game of all-time.
Rating: Summary: Stunning visuals with great gameplay Review: Be warned with this game - you need a hugely beefy computer to run it as intended. But once in, the game itself is one of the most satisfying and addictive I've ever played (I usually bore with shooting things). More like an adventure game than a blast everything romp - highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Frustrated quick w/this one Review: I bought it after all the great reviews and game of the year award...I was disappointed and got frustrated managing the views. I also had a hard time getting it to be compatible w/my sound card. Sierra's support helped me but only after several days via email.
Rating: Summary: Good but not Great Review: This game is beautiful and very intruiging at first. The interface is consice and the story starts off good. About the 4th mission I started to give up. All the missions are scripted. The AI usually won't do anything until it is triggered which gives you plenty of time to get an army, or not, together. Usually I would spend all my money and still not have a big enough fleet to complete even the 4th mission. Your ships, money, and resources carry over from one mission to the next so be careful. Bad management could leave the game unfinishable.
