Summary: Has Lots of Potential
Review: let;s not forget everyone that the version out now is only a demo.
developers put these out so that you the consumer can get an idea what the final product will generaly be like. Its also an oportunity to get feedback on the design, playability issues, and any bugs that need to be fixed before the final product is released. I gave this a 5 star because the developers obviously put alot of effort into making the environments as realistic as possible. The water/River effect is stunning! It looks so real! And this is a FPS Your supposed to go around and shoot everyone, if your in DM MODE. If your in another Mood of play and it happens just go to another game or start your own. Don't whine about it.

Summary: The Multiplayer mode isn't worth playing
Review: All I've played on this game so far is the online multiplayer mode. It's a bore... Everyone in the game keeps shooting each other. No plan, no direction... The game might be better in single player mode, but don't waste your time downloading the multiplayer, it sucks...

Summary: Kick Butt and Plays forever!
Review: I've been playing this demo for over a month now, this has got to be the best demo of a game I have yet to play. Can't wait to get the full version. This game incorporates so much realism and the graphics are very nice. I recommend this to anyone who wants a game that gives you chills and makes you jump when you get your head blown off because you werent paying attention. Anyone who liked MOH or Battlefield should like this unless your epileptic because its so real the movement could make you sick, literally.

Summary: excellent realism, raises bar in today's standards
Review: On trying the game from various game demos that i test from fileshack.com, I could tell that it wasn't just any other "this is realistic" game. VC offers a real jungle world where players can hide in the scenery and pick off the enemy from a distance.

On trying out the sniper, I felt like I was an actual GI employing "jungle warfare". In other games you just point and click, but in vc you have to think like you're in the jungle to survive. If you just run out you'll surely be sniped from a distance by enshrouded enemy snipers. If you crawl or quickly dash from bush to bush, the chances are greatly lowered.

The game offers a wide variety of actual guns used in nam including the tommy gun, m16, AK-47. So far the demo offers 3 modes of play: capture the flag, assassination, and all out death match. Get this game if you're looking for something that will be fun. After 40 hours of playing this, I'm still not bored.

Summary: Best FPS; environment and squad tactics
Review: Counter Strike, Rogue Spear, Ghost Recon, Raven Shield (demo); this beats them all. The environment is awesome, first game where the environment is a pervaisive factor in gameplay. Crawl in water, through ferns, hide in bushes. Multiplayer action is awesome on broadband; 50 players in a battle. Very realistic in "vietnam mode", no fake sights like Ghost Recon (which I played routinely since it was released). This game forces you into cooperative squad tactics. Feels more "natural" than the others (peeking over rocks, around trees). Sound effects great. Jungle, jungle, jungle; very cool. Can run at 2048x1536 w/radeon pro and get 40fps with all features!! try that in any other game! Good rendering engine.

Summary: Wrong kind of game
Review: MULTIPLAYER [BAD] IN THIS GAME

In multiplayer it is the wrong setting for the type of game this is. This is a fast paced game like quake, with the setting of a covert opperationg such as Vietnam. I thought this game was going to be one like America's Army, it did not deliver, in this sense.

What makes the fast pacedness of this game even worse is that there are no clips of ammo lieing around so you are constantly forced to use your knife (a very ineffective weapon). This is especially true in multiplayer mode.

As well the graphics are not nearly as good as they could and should be. The grass is pixelated, an the whole invironment has totally the wrong lighting. OH WAIT, correct that, it has practically no lighting effects at all.

Anyways the single player is fine (it's kinda like Ghost Recon graphics wise), so get this game only for Single player, NOT multiplayer.

If you like the multiplayer in a game most then don't get this game at all!!!

Summary: Jungle Warfare to the Max
Review: You want jungle warfare this is it! You want a taste of Vietnam especially the highland or I should say the "I Corp" then this is it. The only thing missing is the red dust from the dustoff....I tried the demo version and it brought tears back to my eyes...walking the edge of the hilltops looking down the hill and seeing shadows running around...preparing to run through them blazing away......get this game for your favorite grunt from VN who knows what it takes to clear the area (search and destroy)....the negative is no "claymore"..hehehe
If you are not sure try the demo before purchasing would give you an idea if this is the fast paced game you want to play on the internet....catch you on the "CA"....

Summary: Great Game But Taste is Questionable...
Review: I tried the demo for this game, and it does an excellent job at recreating a jungle war. From the buzzing of the insects to the running streams, this is perhaps the most realistic game I've tried.

Everything that a soldier experiences is captured... from the tense suspicion over every waver of a bush, to the immense difficulty it takes to identify a target before opening fire, thus leading to quite a bit of friendly fire casualties.

There is quite an aresnal of weapons at your disposal, from a silencer to various sniper rifles. In the multiplayer mode (at least), your given the choice of either playing a Vietcong soldier, or a US soldier.

What I am most concerned about in this game is its taste. In my opinion, it is in rather poor taste to exploit the Vietnam war in a videogame, but that is exactly what it does, despite stunning visuals, and wonderfully capturing the mood. For that I deduct a star from an otherwise perfect game.

Summary: Panzies need not apply
Review: Make no mistake, this game is difficult. But, so is trying to hit anything with projectiles less than 1/2" wide being fired from a weapon with a high rate of fire and recoil. This game tends to frustrate most FPS players only because most other FPS games make it very easy to hit enemies. All of the Rainbow Six games, even when Auto-Aim was not being used, were unrealistic in the ease with which one could aim and strike a target. How many reviewers have actually fired fully automatic weaponry at moving targets (who may or may not have been returning fire)?

That being said, the marksmanship of the enemy is truly amazing, but not unavoidable with standard military tactics. So sorry, but running in with guns blazing is a sure-fire way to get killed in both real life and in this game; Fans of other games like Quake Arena or Unreal Tournament will not enjoy this game unless they first put aside their desire to avoid being killed a few times. Just as in real life, sometimes it is unavoidable here.

I have never had so much fun playing a game in multiplayer. This game offers many types of games, but the standouts are the Hajong Port map for deathmatch, and all of the maps for Cooperative play. The detail in the audio effects is astonishing; One of my favorite moments is realizing that someone is walking above you in an attic (in the port map), and the ensuing firefight where bullets and pieces of wood are exploding all around as you fire up and down at eachother through the ceiling. Hearing a grenade drop right next to your feet is unmistakable and always invokes a delightful panic. The weapon signatures are faithfully done and visceral in feel, and the voices are authentic. The graphics are just as detailed as the sound effects.

Bottom line: Play this game with a good sport, and as a good sport. Play it against an insecure teenager, or with the same attitude, and you will give up very shortly. As for the extreme difficulty, the latest patch (1.41) has added the ability to alter the difficulty in Cooperative play, but I will personally not play this game on any setting lower than Hard.

Summary: Gamers with brains and talent welcome
Review: Patch? Why? "I fired 20 rounds into an enemy's head and he was still coming." Supposedly there is a patch offered to correct the "unkillable" enemies. Well uh...try actually aiming instead of spraying. I've popped enemies dead in the head from across a canyon with the AK-47, one shot, one kill. Your sites are affected by your own realistic movement. There is no "easy" kill in this game. The game simply expects you to practice training your weapon properly. It has also been mentioned that team members are "stupid" and block your path during gameplay. I find that as long as you pay attention to where you're going, this is very avoidable. Don't walk down a dead end path for starters. 9 times out of 10 the door will be locked anyway. If your pointman doesn't want to continue until all other team members come closer together in the lineup (which they won't), just take point yourself. They WILL follow you and you can simply fall back in line once they advance to your position. Use your head and this game will not disappoint you. Oh, and lest I forget, you DO have a flashlight in the tunnels. Read the manual guys.

The efforts put into the jungle surroundings are the best I've seen yet. Play control is laid out nicely. Everything down to the recoil has attention paid to it. If a second version of this game comes out, it'll probably be satisfactory to everyone. All the "annoyances" would most likely get fixed. Watch out for the manufacturers of this title, they'll probably only get better from here on out.
