Summary: Damn!
Review: This game takes the best elements of several real time strategy games and puts it in a cool new setting. It's like a mix of C&C and Age of Empires in space. The ships are really cool, though there is no major difference between the fleets. However, it's still a great game and a good one for multiplayer. The best aspect of the game is the fact that it is completely 3-D. It takes some getting used to, but it is suprisingly easy. If you're thinking about getting any other RTS (RA2 come to mind), get this one first, it is MUCH better.

Review: Three words to describe this game are OH MY GOD! If you could get one more game in your life it should be Home World game of the year edition. Not only is it one of the best rt strategies ever but the strategy guide is a real nice thing to have. I have never played a better game in my life and trust me I have played a LOT of games. I would have given it more stars but they only let you have 5! If you have no clue this is a space strategy game with a free floating 360 degree view. Don't get confused its not a flight sim or a shooter its a strategy(and a good one at that!) Well I hope my reveiw was helpful!

Summary: Really five stars but with one warning
Review: Actually this game is as great as other reviewers say it is. It is truly fun, challenging, creative and involving. But the only warning to buyers is make sure your processor is at least as fast as they recommend it be. I was curious and had to buy it for my 166 mhz computer and when it starts to get difficult the mouse pointer starts skipping and jumping, often over your targets, as the processor calculates the 3D positions of all of these moving realtime objects. I was able to play up to the garden of Kadesh with this handicap, but it worsened there and when it was even more critical. The bad news is I have to shelf it until it is in my aggressive budget to get a new computer(buying a house comes first). The good news is I have every confidence that in the future with more sophisticated and advanced software and hardware, this game is still going to be just as fun to play then as it is now.

Summary: A game of Epic proportions -- You'll be looking for Cylons
Review: Have you ever heard of Galactica ? If you have, then you will feel right at home in Homeworld, (no pun intended) searching for your Homeworld aboard your mothership.By now you've probably seen the screenshots or demo and know that it has an amazing 3D engine and awesome graphics... Here's why it was game of the year in 1999: Playability and Fun Factor ! If you liked Starcraft, Command and Conquer etc. and are ready for a bigger and different challenge...this game offers the same real-time management thrills but multiplied in another dimension...space in true 3D. The maneuverability of the viewpoint is something that must be experienced to be believed. Few games to date can match it in terms of ease of interface for a complex spatial environment. This game re-defined a genre(RTS) and has a rich story (Galactica-like) and technical merit (beautiful sound/music and graphics) it does belong in any Sci-fi or Space RTS fan's gaming library, a true classic.

Summary: amazing....and a glimpse of the future of gaming
Review: This game literally blew me off my feet (and everyone who I have shown it too has had a similiar experience). The graphics are stunning and the sheer scope of the whole thing is mind boggling. The people who made this are truely ahead of the pack and I cannot wait to see the forthcoming follow up game. If you do not have it...get it.

Summary: Succeeds in style
Review: Ok, the storyline is your standard "Battlestar Galactica" - fare - but the execution is great! I bought this game because I was impressed with the graphics on the cover and found that they looked beautiful even on my humble 8meg card. The game is incredibly stylish and very easy to comprehend. Basically this is Age of Empires in Spaces with the added feature of a 3D Space, which is a big advantage, but makes live more complicated. Instead of just clicking where the units have to go, you always have to add the 3rd vector (not only left/right, but above/below) too, which can become frustating. Difficulty level is not bad, giving you an even chance to win, but certainly not the first time around. As said, graphics and sound are impressive. Storyline is ok and realtimestrategy in space is fun. Controls could be better, though.

Summary: Homeworld an epic game
Review: This is a game that as far as I know no other game equals. I have been playing this game for around two months now and is the only one that I still find myself inserting in my computer. The graphics are superb and if you have a four speaker sustem with a quality sound card the game really excells. This is a great game that has terrific single player campaign and also the single senarios are excellent as well. The multiplayer is quite entertaining if you can get past the junvenile chatter among your fellow gamers while the game is going on. This game is best also with a quality accelerator card such as a ge force because with literally 100s of ships in space at one time it can tax your system. Now a hundred ships in space seems that it may be hard to control your fleet but with the easy hotkeys and drag sweeping enabled in the game it is not, but it is difficult to achiee victory though. I have played to date 43 different titles and this is by far the best I have come across.Enjoy it is worth the $40 also by the deluxe edition of the game you receive a players guide and a nice cd of the music and a trailer for their soon to be released follow-up Cataclysm (I think the spelling is correct).

Summary: Highly Immersive Gameplay!
Review: Homeworld's best features-graphics engine, scripting, control mechanics, narrative flow, and mission structure, are so fluid, so highly immersive, that it makes the experience far more than the sum of its parts. The combination of large scale fleet actions and cinematic perspectives creates the most impressive space combat ever made for a strategy game. Its like being in the middle of, and in cotrol of, a Star Wars battle. 16 single player missions can make for some short gaming time but most people go through the campaign at least twice-its that good. In single player, you'll encounter 2 races, aside from the main one that your trying to decimate. There are 26 units to choose from on each side, with 3 main classes of ships-from the paltry fire of the scout, to the amazing might of the heavy cruiser. The excellent use of 3D makes for some interesting strategies, putting much imphasis on the element of surprise... To sum it up, buy Homeworld for its engrossing real-time-strategy matched to a vital and visually intense story, making this a gaming experience like none other. P.S. You may want to check the Relic and Sierra message boards to see what other people think of the game-plus it could help you along in learning the basic components of the game
