Summary: Good game, after you learn the tricks of the trade
Review: I bought this game out of the reccomendation of one of my friends. Well, I must say that the graphics and gameplay are really fun. However, I had never played Tribes 1 a lot and therefore had a hard time learning all the tricks. The tutorial is ok as a start, but if you want to learn more, you have to consult other experienced players. My best advice is to join a clan.

Overall, this is a great multiplayer game. If you are willing to put in a couple days learning how to play, it'll be hard to put down.

Summary: OUTSTANDING AND PERFECT
Review: When I first got the demo of Tribes 2 it looked fantastic with the new weapon models like the other weapons on Tribes. The land is just eye-popping since it looked more real than the graphics than on Tribes 1. I have a 650 mhz Athlon processor and a voodoo5 video card and it is just a tiny bit laggy. I can't boost mine up since it makes my computer too hot. Anyway, my point is that if you think this game looks good, sounds good, and feels good, then you should go ahead and buy the game. I also have 640 mb of pc133 ram. And so, buy the game. I did and I made some real cool planets. Trust me I did :)

Summary: Outstanding
Review: There is nothing to be said here. It is an amazing game. If you're a die-hard deathmatcher, it may not be for you. You have to have an attention span to play this game, but the time you spend is well rewarded.

Summary: Some advice for those considering Tribes 2
Review: I think Tribes 2 is a fantastic game, but there are caveats and some tips for people who are thinking of buying it.

Caveats:

1) I have a fairly new system (P4 1.3, 524 MB ram, cable modem), so the game sails for me, but I know folks with lower end PIII chips that have a hard time with performance. I'd suggest a PIII 700 or better with 128mb RAM or hold off on Tribes. I'd also have a hard time imagining how you could play this with a 56k modem.

2) It's very buggy, but once you go through the dozen patches you need to add, it seems to work great.

Advice:

It's a tough game for a newcomer to get into because of the complexity, but there are ways to get down the learning curve more quickly.

The practice sessions are helpful, especially if you gradually crank up the difficulty level. If you can make it through the practice sessions on "hard," or even "medium," you won't embarass yourself in a multiplayer match.

Take a supporting role. If you're in a game where people are obviously better than you, take a supporting role like repairing generators and turrets or deploying remote inventory stations or deploying defenses. You can make a big difference to your team winning.

Check which rules you're playing on. When you look for a match, it will indcate what rule the match is playing by. They're either "base," "variant," or some sort of mod. STAY AWAY FROM MODS. The Tribes developers put a lot of work into balancing the maps and the weapons in the game and most of the mods don't. I've found mods to be very unbalanced and random and requiring very little skill.

This game gets very addictive as you get better at it. I highly recommend.

Summary: Tribes 2 is a giant piece of non-working bloatware
Review: This game took a huge amount of time to make, delays after delays, and when it actually hit the stores.. I've seen alpha builds that could easily be more stable [....] Oh yea? and what's more.. unless you are running on Dave G's deep blue, you are going to see stick figures running around at 1 fps ... this game is the biggest joke I've ever seen.. UT or Quake 3.. or anything blows this junk away.

Summary: A.K.A Total Addition
Review: First off, this game is the best that I've ever played. It got my attention real quick. I've tried UT, Quake, CS, etc., although they were fun games, but nothing came close to this game (in my opinion). Despite what some people said about the bugs that is in the game, I didn't even noticed that there were bugs to begin with. As of current, most bugs have been fixed. Some of you might be discouraged at your first try, but if you stick to it, I believed that you will actually enjoy the gameplay that if offers. Its never a same battle the second time around. Just remember that its a teambase game and that you play it as "take a role" stand point of view. That way, you will enjoy the most of this game. Sure, some complains that they don't get enough actions or kills, but this is not a UT or Quake where there are alot of senseless killing. Even then, once you're familiarized with the maps, control, menuvering around, and how the games are being played, you can average 20-30 kills/game. My highest was 54 kills and I'm not even a pro at it yet! It takes alot of practice and patient.

This game will required you to used every strategies that will benefit you and your team. Its a great challenge once you find someone to play along side with. There are plenty of vehicle to play around with, and if you mastered that, you can run your enemies down with even the flying shrike; now thats skills. And in maps that has less fog or no fog at all, its a sniper paradise (I hate snipers; LOL). When the action gets really intense, you will be lost in waves of explosion from bombs and fusion mortars, plasma and chaingun bullets flying all over the place, your teammate dropping, blown into piece, yelling and screaming of agony; you won't be disappointed. NOW thats action for you.

For connection, I will admitted that you will enjoy more from a Cable/DSL connection. But thats not to say that you can't enjoy or play Tribes 2 with a 56K connection. I started off with a 56K, joined games that had low pings and fewer people, and I didn't really had that much of a problems. Just a few lags and and timeout. But the patches that were downloaded has greatly improved that. If you have a Cable/DSL connection, like I now do, join a game with 64-80 (sometime 128) players and get ready for some intense action. If you need practice, just host a LAN game by yourself and practice with the bots. The bots comes with difficulty setting.

Over all, I really recomment this game to other. Its a great game that will leave you wanting for more. Definitely get this game if you're into teambase. If you need someone to play along side, look me up (Blazing Tiger) and would gladdly help you enjoy the best of this game.

Summary: Nutshell: Best Game Ever
Review: I can't say enough about this game. I was a Tribes 1 fan since it first came out, never got old. Now Tribes 2 blew that out of the water. A game you can play for years; come home after work and blow of some steam with the spinfusor. Ultimate online fps. Period. Must experience to believe. Give it a chance, the more you play, the more you learn and the better it gets.
