Rating: Summary: Gameplay and Graphics - nice combo! Review: Blizzard Entertainment has done it again. With vast new territory to explore, five new character classes, plenty of dungeons, caverns and crypts for folks to explore in each town, and an abundance of new weapons and spells its hard to not continue playing in order to see all the new additions. Key commands are the same which makes for a smooth transition from Diablo to Diablo II. One of the nicer features is the "autosave" in single-player mode - granted if you die you lose your gold (something that multiplayer does not experience)Single Player games keep the same game seed. Meaning the layout remains the same when you exit and enter - however, the monsters are still being randomly generated so those will change. When playing multiplayer games, the more players there are the more gold, items and experience you may gain of course this also means the life of the monsters increase as well :) Way Points are also a huge plus. Once you get to a Way Point in another town this becomes a quick and easy way to get from one place to another without having to use a Teleportation spell (however, it never hurts to have a few in your inventory). Learn who your allies are and what they can do. There are folks who are able to heal your mana and life points without sacrificing any gold. Also, you now have a chest in town which you can stash your items. Not a bad idea if you've got plenty of gold to carry but don't want to risk losing any (there is a cap of 500 so if you have 1000 and die you only lose 500). Fun gameplay and non-stop entertainment. I'm pleased with this sequel and will be spending plenty of time advancing my character!
Rating: Summary: Better than I thought it would be! Review: I read some of the reviews and most people said this game was okay, but not as good as the original. Boy, were they wrong. This game far surpasses the original Diablo to me. The levels are designed better and the quests are more interesting to follow. The cinematic movies are to die for. The graphics are improved a little from the original(For instance you can see the items you are wearing). The only complaint is that there are a few bugs in the game such as graphic slow downs, and I had to go to bizzard.com to download a patch just to get the game to run on my computer. Other than these few gripes, I am addicted to this game. Until I got Diablo II I had no idea how fun RPGs are. Thanks Blizzard for another great game.
Rating: Summary: The game is the thing... with friends Review: If you were a fan of the original, you don't need me telling you to buy it (you probably already have it!). If your new to Diablo, or if this genre of game is not your thing, you may find the graphics a little substandard. Don't get me wrong, its a good looking game. But if your used to the 3D accelerated hi-res graphics of some of the first person shooters out there, this will look "different" in a way that might be interpreted as "low-res". While the experience on battle.net has been very annoying (IE:Downtime, difficulty starting and getting into games, lag, etc), the LAN multiplayer side of this game has been a blast. That is where the true fun in this game will come out for you. Two friends and I have made Diablo II a weekly thing and have enjoyed every minute. The single player game is also enjoyable if you are into that kind of thing, but I found myself losing interest after a pretty short time as a single player.
Rating: Summary: My finger aches...what a addictive game! Review: At first Diablo II seems very out of date in graphic quality and the linear plot... BUT it indeed is a excellent game. And it is a very player-oriented game. I am now in ACT III, from the very beginning I do not refer to user manual.Everything you need is clearly shown on the neat control panel. The most important and successful is, Diablo II bring us back to the very essence of RPG --to explore ,to fight, to enjoy the other-world. It avoids the boring ,complex weapon and armour setting (like Ultima), avoids lots of unused magic (like most RPG), avoids meaningless quest (like M&M). Only pure explore and direct quest. You know what you are doing now! It's so addictive that today I played it from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm....., oh my finger aches...
Rating: Summary: Nice game, but a bit repetitive Review: While this game is another well done rev of the original Faery Tale Adventure (Amiga) it does get a bit repetitive after a while. Whacking stuff with a sword and then picking up pieces doesn't require a whole lot of strategy. I much preferred Warcraft I and II to the Diablo series. Still, it's a well done game, nice graphics, decent interface and fun.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: This game is a lot better than the original...YOU NEED TO GET THIS GAME!! The 5 characters makes it cool, the cinematics is great, and the only con I have against it is that I can't get to sleep at all, because it is so ADDICTIVE! I promise you, you won't be disappointed when you buy it. You'll be AMAZED.
Rating: Summary: Just as good as the first Review: A agme that keeps getting better with each time i play it!
Rating: Summary: Very Good Review: This game is a huge improvement over Diablo I, but is not without flaws. The familiar life/magic orbs remain, as do the puzzle-like inventory and belt systems. The gameplay is far better than its predecessor- items are now easier to locate, walking/running can be permanently toggled, and everything is easier to see. The lighting is improved as well, thanks to some hardware enhancements- this removes those annoying segmented areas of light as seen in Diablo I. For those with hardware acceleration, there is a perspective option that skews the bitmaps for an interesting effect. (This does result in some image degradation and a pixelated look.) The CG animations at the end of each Act are very well done, and give a reason for playing if you have none. You no longer have to load between areas as in Diablo I, and the new waypoint system makes exploring far easier and less infuriating. Five character classes rather than three also make the game more fun. It takes a while to play through all of them. Some things Blizzard left unchanged. The resolution is a pitiful 640 by 480. I found nothing wrong with the color depth- nothing seemed bland or bad looking. The game does really weird things when it comes to caching textures. If you haven't done somthing in a while- like kicking a barrel- the game freezes for a second or two while it loads the animation. For a game that's not very high resolution, I found this texture hang-up pretty strange. Overall, this is a good game. If you liked Diablo, buy it. It has some problems, but it still managed to keep me in one spot for very long time periods.
Rating: Summary: shift key broken Review: all what i have been doing in this game so far is pressing the shift key. i am almost done with act three and my left shift key is not working any more. the only thing motivating me to continue is the cinematics between each act. they r AMAZING... and the music is nice also. that's why i am giving two starts and not one.
Rating: Summary: Definately not bad, but not very good, too. Review: The guys from Blizzard seem to favour two things : 1: The crow. 2: the resolution 640x480. Both of them appear as frequently as possible. The first one, though, I don't mind. The second - I DO. Well, I don't think 640x480 is the screen resolution of year 2000, the year of the 32, 64 and even 128-megabyte video cards. Gamers with the dream hardware (700Mhz. Athlon/PentiumIII, 128MbRAM, Voodo 5/GeForce2) have a lot of extra power unlike the gamers in 1996 when 800x600 was rare. The resolution, offered by Blizzard is just not appropriate for nowadays. As for the gameplay - it's quite good, but Killing the same monsters several times is not much fun. Multyplayer is cool, too, especially in cooperative. The storyline, coloured in the typical for Blizzard pessimictic tones, is nice. The cut-scenes revealing us the story are well done too, but in 640x480 they look a bit bixelated on a 17" and larger monitor. Overall, this is a mediocre game. It has strong and weak points struggling to win just like Diablo's servants and our hero. And none of them seems to be succeeding.
