Rating: Summary: WARNING< DO NOT PLAY Review: I say that because if your like me and you get into playing this game you will lose track of time. If you are one of those people who get addicted to things easily, i highly recommend not playing this game. Dont get me wrong, this is the funnest game i have ever played on the PC. This game has no end, you can beat this game over and over but each time you do, you will find better, rare, unique, and sets of items you didnt even know existed. Even when you think you have seen every item, you havent. Not only that but you can even fight Giant cows wielding axes. This game KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Repetitive Review: If you like clicking banners and advertisements off your screen you will love this game, cause thats all it is, clicking annoying flying/popping graphics off your screen.
Rating: Summary: This game rocks Review: well done, detailed, and easy to learn, it is even more fun if you are familier with the AD&D system already.
Rating: Summary: A Black Hole for ALL your free time Review: Like every Blizzard game, Diablo II will suck away every free moment you have in the "real world," and pull you into another dimention. I can spend hours upon hours upon hours playing this game, without breaks for food, sleep, or even basic bodily functions. The game is longer than the original (though not 4 times as long as they might try to tell you it is), and includes some great character classes. I recommend the Barbarian and the Amazon for single player. You can seriously play this game all day without boring of it. One thing you might want to consider is that the multiplayer options are very different than the original. You need a really good connection, or you lag like crazy. I could use the original and have my character with a green level bandwith, and I can hardly even load up the multiplayer for Diablo II, so if you are a very multiplayer-oriented player with a poor connection, it might not be for you, but I assure you, single player if more than interesting. This game is one of the best ever... it improved ever im-perfect aspect of Diablo, which was and still is a fabulous game. I really think that anyone who doesn't have this is missing out horribly. Buy it. Now.
Rating: Summary: What, I cant give it negative number of stars? Review: Actually my rating would be -5. Why? Because not all games were manufactured equal. Mine was missing several files when I put it on my PC. No matter how many bunches of times I reinstalled it, it kept crashing. Diablo II would make a great game, if I could play it for 5 minutes without it crashing. In multiplayer, when it crashes, the multiplayer game will think its a cheat...and it will reset the characters back to their normal status before they entered the game. This copy was bought legally at Target. In summary, Diablo II is 3 disks full of massive glitches.
Rating: Summary: SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR SOCIAL LIFE! Review: this is the best game ever made, the replay value is UNBEATABLE! NUFF SAID!
Rating: Summary: Perfect to relieve stress! Review: I bought this game last week. Little did I know, the battle chest came out a day after I bought it. Needless to say, I feel a little cheated on that part. Diablo 2 is perfect for those gamers who just want to throw down into some hacking and slashing. The battle strategies aren't difficult to master, and the game itself is easy to immerse yourself into. The sheer variety of equipment you can purchase/find will keep you interested in the game. I have found that the best way to play this is on battle.net. You can trade equipment and items with other players there. It adds another interesting aspect to the game itself. Once you play on battle.net, you will not want to play a single player game. You will stay up late playing this game, I promise you. There are really no gripes that I have about this game, although I wish I had just bought the battle chest instead. It comes with the expansion, a strategy guide, and the original Diablo for just 20 more dollars. So if you are going to buy this game, you might as well front the extra 20 and get it all.
Rating: Summary: Good game for rats Review: In psychology there is a concept called "variable reinforcement schedule". Basically, if you reward a rat for pressing a bar, say with a food pellet, he will want to press the bar. BUT, if you only reinforce the rat randomly as he pushes the bar, well, he'll push furiously, neglecting socializing, hygiene, and all else. Diablo 2 works exactly like the latter situation. You kill a baddie. Did he drop something good? Maybe, maybe not. Every random time a baddie does drop something good, it inflames your brain to want to repeat that behavior, just like a slot machine, or a rat pressing a bar. The priciple is PROVEN to be elegantly addicting. In one sense, that makes this an incredibly efficient game, based on sound scientific data, with a vicious hook. On the other hand, I could put you in a cage with an IV of endorphins that randomly activated occasionaly after you pressed a bar, and you'd all be giving it 5 star reviews on amazon and wasting your time playing it. Here's an idea: spend time with your loved ones, read a book, draw a picture. Life is short.
Rating: Summary: One of the best games of all time Review: This is simply a superb game, and is very stable (don't listen to those who have said it does not run, it has more to do with their machine than with the game). Anything I did not like about the first has been changed in this game, like the ability to run, this is a god send. This game has a rich story line, superb game play, great graphics, awesome movie cut-aways that are truly stunning, and an increased array of characters to use. The character skill progressions are much more diverse as well, and call into play some real strategy and forward thinking. I especially love the Necromancer who can summon skeletons, golems, etc. to fight along side him. The attention to detail on the characters look is also very satisfying, whatever you wear directly influences your characters appearance on the screen, unlike the first game, where the look was somewhat generic. You can also hire NPC's to fight along side of you at various stages of the game, which also adds depth. I also enjoy the chapter structure of the game that brings you to different towns and wilderness areas. It reduces the repetitivness of the first game. The maps of the levels are truly vast as well which makes the game much more challenging and interesting, and the fact that many are outdoors, (desert, jungle, highlands, woods, temple ruins, and finally hell) as opposed to spending the entire game in one long dungeon. I tell you that I am not a big fan of real time games or arcade type shooters, but this game holds your attention for untold hours, and is replayable. I have completed it with 3 of the four characters before burning out a bit. I look forward to playing the expansion and using the Assassin and Monk. The online play is vastly improved from the first. With a dsl connection it is virtually indistinguishable from the solo version, and fun. Trust me, get this game.
Rating: Summary: The best game in a LONG time. Review: This game is superb, the pinnacle of gaming experiences. I salivate over the thought that somewhere, someday, Diablo 3 will come out and surpass even this. The graphics are fine for what this is, a hack and slash gore-fest. There is blood-o-rama goin' on! The game play is interesting, and addictive. The only problem is that it causes a massive loss of sleep.
