Rating: Summary: Massively Multiplayer Review: Well, I saw the reveiws on this game and was skeptical on buying it. But now I am additcted! It has alot of bugs and you need a lot of processing power (which I don't have) but it is the best concept for a game in a long time. Keeps me entertained for hours. And I only get framerates of 2 to 15 a second. Any other game and it would be out the window, this game is awesome and is getting better!!!
Rating: Summary: Has Not Gotten Any Better Review: I have been with this game as a supporter since launch day. After the initial pathetic launch, I decided to stay with this game hoping that things could only get better. The stability of the game has improved, but the play and strategy of the game is not there. If you are a history buff who wants to be immersed in a realistic war environment, skip this one (no matter how much you love WW2 history). If you are a fan of games where you just run around and shoot things, buy a game with better graphics. If you like to sit around with a glimmer of hope that all things improve and find things like grass amusing, buy this game.
Rating: Summary: Good Luck just playing Review: This game might just be the worst ever. It is impossible to play unless you have a cable modem AND at LEAST 256mb of memory otherwise the lag will never make the game playable. First off with the gameplay all of the "battles" are just skirmishes with just about 20 people. ALso, strategy first went out of their way to make the game impossible to get into. THe start up screen is pathetic. Also once you are in the game (if you ever do get in) it takes half a hour to a hour to see 10 minutes of combat. And that is if you get a ride, if you dont just dont even try, by the time you get to a "battle Field" the battle would be over and you would have to do the same thing again with the same results. Also flying planes might be the hardest thing ever to do in a video game. It takes a computer junkie to actually take off. ALso the box says there is sea battle there is not even sea avaliable this game is flat out pathetic you would be much better flushing your money down the toliet other than buying this game. TRUST ME DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
Rating: Summary: waou ! worst game i've ever seen Review: avoid this at all costs. nothing in this game is as announced in the box with my great pc 1.4G gf3 i run at 15-20 fps this game is broken, save yourself a frustration and avoid it
Rating: Summary: be prepared to be frustrated Review: This game is horrible. The box for this game lies about the system specs. I have 256 megs of ram and a T1 line, which are both insufficent to play this game. I have talked to other players online and they said that for the game to run smoothly at least 500 megs of ram are needed. Plus, the game itself has graphics of a snes game and consist of nothing but tank battles. It takes about ten minutes for the game to load and sometimes it takes thirty minutes to find where people are actually fighting. The most frustrating thing about this game is the fact that a joystick is required and it says nothing about that on the outside of the box. So using a plane or a tank is not possible.
Rating: Summary: Bad game with alot of flaws Review: Where do I start? No scoring system whatsoever. No objectives whatsoever. Everything is a tank battle because the framerates are so poor in aircraft, nobody uses them. Infantry are so lame and lacking in effective weapons, there's almost no point to them. Add to that the fact that you can't even coordinate a RIDE from somebody without the poor driver being stuck as the driver, you can't FIND anybody that is willing to drop troops. Worst code I've ever seen. It's got to be the sloppiest, most ill-conceived graphics engine ever written (in Visual Basic). Not only is it [...]-ugly, it's as slow as molasses on the fastest systems. If there was any eye candy at ALL the graphics engine would probably just give up and die on the spot. Was NO talent hired to work on this title? Key mappings. Oh - my - god. How about 3 completely separate keystrokes just to rise, ready, aim and fire a weapon. Their excuse is that it's "realistic". Yeah so are 2D monitors, 90 degree fields of view, 2D sound and speaking with a keyboard. What's your point CRS? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Countless 3D shooters have playing the part of an infantryman down pat. Couldn't you LEARN something from it? You had to make it "better"? I guess that's why nobody wants to even bother with infantry in your "virtual battlefield". Don't bother people. Somebody will eventually get it right, but it's not gonna be Cornered Vermin Software.
Rating: Summary: Buggy, unfinished product. Spend your money elsewhere. Review: I purchased this game the day it was released. It has been almost 3 months now and the game is still a terrible mess. First of all, you have to download a 70+ MB patch!! That is a download that will take literally days on conventional modems. Even with the patch installed, about 20% of the people who bought the game can not connect to play it (information obtained from informal poll at wwiionline.com forum). If you are in the 80% that can connect, be aware that this game is a resource hog. Players with less than 512 MB of RAM will have difficulties playing due to extremely low frame rate. (I tested using a 900 Mhz Athlon, 512 MB Ram, Geforce3 and the average frame rate I get is 30 FPS in relatively empty areas! This drops to the single digits as soon as there are a few people around.). Also, even people with best gaming computers frequently crash due to lost communications with the game servers. Expect to crash playing this game at least once every 2 hours or so, and consider yourself lucky. If this doesn't bother you, then good for you. However the game doesn't deliver what the box states either. There is no presistent online world, instead there are multiple servers which frequently reset leaving all gains void. There is no ranking system nor is there a supply sytem, and the game more often than not deteriorates to a mindless tank battle (affectionatley dubbed "Quank" as in "Quake" and "Tank"). The only part of the world that is modelled is BELGIUM, so forget about fighting anywhere else in the world. Despite of all the flags displayed on the box, you can only play either German or French/British. The US, Japan, Russia etc are NOT IN THE GAME yet (and might never be). Also, the much touted Navy is no where to be seen. Also missing are AA guns, artillery, heavy bombers, allied bombers etc. Most attrociously however is the fact that you can NEVER have more then 64 people in your area. If there are more than that, some will randomly dissapear. It is especially diconcerting to get shelled by invisible enemies. Despite claims of "massive" engagements to recreate D-Day or Pearl Harbor, this will of course never be, unless only 64 people are participating. This really borders on false advertisement by CRS. The atmosphere of the game is terrible. You can't immerse yourself in the gaming experience, mainly due to the fact that the graphics are extremely poor. Paper thin walls, trees fences and rows upon rows of the exact same facades will make you feel like you're fighting in a cheap movie set. The sound is also rediculous. You can sometimes hear vehicles that are 50 miles away better then something right infront of you. Ever so often, the sound will completely fail, or even worse get bugged so that you hear is a constant humming of an invisible truck. The only way to stop this problem is to restart the game. The list goes on, but Amazon only allows 1000 words, however in conclusion this game is not worth buying. The only exception might be if you have a top-of-the-line computer, are extremely computer savvy, and are a fanatic WWII buff. Otherwise spend your money elsewhere. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you insist on purchasing this game, please note that the game requires its own CD key that will be registered using your name. For this reason, retailers WILL NOT give you a refund on this game, and CRS has expressively stated that they will not refund the game either, regardless of problems you're having.
Rating: Summary: This is great despite... Review: Regardless of the negative comments about this game it is the funnest game i have ever played. The game as yet is not whats advertised on the box(the navy is not yet in the game, other vehicles are still to be intruduced), witch does bother me for a $40 game, but they are making progress. At the moment i would recommend this to anyone, its a very fun game to play, and it keeps getting better.
Rating: Summary: Screw Ya'll Review: I havent played this game yet, but i know its awsome. i read about it in a gaming magazine sounds cool. go screw yourself L8er
Rating: Summary: It was terrible but it is getting better Review: Hmm well ill keep it short.. first the bad things.. the game is having a rocky start, a really rocky start.. the system specs are high, espically the ram, if your going to buy this game a slower processor might be ok but ram is a must id say 256 or better.. Lag is bad, and i hear people say well lag is bad on all online games, this is true but the lag is very bad to the point where you know something needs to be done about it... The good, As i snuck threw the woods i could see the enenmy city off in the distance.. it was a long walk and the night was starting to fall. All of the sudden a a13 light battletank pulls up and tells me to jump on.. i actually jumped on the side of his tank and road it to the city. Just as i jumped off the tank exploded as a german panzer fired and destroyed the a13. i ran and hid in the brush.. i switched to my gernades and as the panzer fired at another on coming allied tank i ran up and threw the gernade and hit the tank.. it disabled the panzer and as he turned to shoot me the allied tank laid waste to the panzer... just a typical 5 mins at the front lines of the Blitzkrieg 4 stars 4 stars for the game 1 star missing for the high ram usage the lag problems here and there in big battles and the terrible launch of the game
