Rating: Summary: Best of AOE games Review: It is the best game out of all the Aoe games.(age of empires) It has great graphics and it is more realistic than the first one!!!! It is worth the $$$.
Rating: Summary: Age of Empires II Review: This game is the greatest game I have ever played. My favorite part is the campaigns- you are William Wallace, Joan of Arc, Saladin, Frederick Barbarossa, or Ghengis Khan and you play a series of scenarios based on their real life exploits (for example, in the first Joan of Arc scenario you must escort her to Chinon without her being killed by the British or the Burgundians). Another great feature is the gate, which you can build into a wall. The gate automatically opens for you and your allies, but enemies must knock it down with their battering rams.
Rating: Summary: Quick, but missing some of the magic Review: Personally, I am a HUGE fan of the Civilization type games. I was looking online and found, however, that the ratings for "Call To Power 2" were not so high. I was looking for a game somewhere up to the level of the old Civilization II, and when in the computer store, I was recommended "Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings". I bought it, and was not unhappy. It IS a very good game, and it goes quick enough to not get bored. Things happen without having to sit around and wait (or cheat) for them to happen. The villagers even have funny voices, and they make sounds when you click on them. I listed some of my own personal thoughts on Pros vs. Cons below.Pros: 1. Great graphics for a strategy game--very up close to the action. 2. Goes quickly 3. There are various ways of winning, not just by destroying the enemy. (Although if you are the bloodshed-loving type, have no fear...it's still an option) 4. You can fight battles from the standpoint of famous leaders, such as Joan of Arc. 5. It's easy to build structures if you have villagers, and it is quite easy to move from Age to Age. 6. Many options to enhance gameplay Cons: 1. There should be more ages to make it more interesting, and for that matter more civilizations. 2. Though it is shorter than say Civilization I and II, gameplay is not quite as engaging. There are more options in the previously mentioned games. So overall, I feel that the pros outweigh the cons, and this is a very good game. Even for those of you who don't enjoy strategy games very much, I believe you will get a kick out of this one. It's worth what you need to pay for it. These kind of games are a dime a dozen, but this one certainly stands out in the crowd.
Rating: Summary: The Best Game Ever!!!!! Review: Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings is interactive game corresponding to the Medevil times when the powerful Roman Empirer Fell, and the world is up for grabs. Microsoft did all out job putting this game together. It has wonderful graphics and it doesn't take much space in your computer. I shouldn't be talking I have an Windows XP but it can prform on even the oldest computers. It has William Wallace, Joan of Arc, Genghis Khan, Saladin, and Barbarossa all historic war leaders of that time, and you can control some of the most powerful civilizations like the Franks the Japanese, Byzantines, Vikings, Mongols, Celts, and more. You can choses your own destiny. You can be a little Napoleon. Will you be a hungry war monster? Remember this the best simulation of the medievil times.
Rating: Summary: A Poor Sequel Review: I bought this game because I really like the first one. This one doesn't compare. The maps are darker, the movement stilted and clumsy. There are some good additions to game play, but the scenes and population are inferior IN USE, if not to the eye. I was really disappointed.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME!!!!!! Review: this game is the best, its really fun! the graphics may suck but the game is really fun and you could play it for HOURRS! u should get this game! its the best!
Rating: Summary: IT WAS OKAY Review: This game was fun for awhile, but I enjoy faster paced strategy games better. (Stronghold, C&C) The graphics were great for their time, but show their age now. The sound is pretty good. The gameplay, as mentioned above, is not my style, so I didn't like it much. Overall a 3 out of 5.
Rating: Summary: Still a fun one. Review: I admit, AOE is now kind of an oldie, but it's still a fun game. I played Age of Mythology in a store once, but I still like this one better. Granted, there are some annoying aspects to Kings, such as replanting farms one at a time. Also, if you use a group of villagers to do a task, you have click each one at a time to spread them out. The Conquerors expansion corrects all this (see my review). You can get both Kings and Conqs in the Gold Edition. The games are old enough that they should work on just about every computer. For parents, the blood and gore is so miniscule it's nothing to worry about. This is an easy game to learn, and a fun one to play. Check it out!
