Rating: Summary: I thoroughly enjoyed this game Review: If you are like me, you are more interested in an adventure game that has a good story, well integrated puzzles and decent voice acting than 360 degree panning and "beautifully rendered graphics". Those things are nice, but if you can't enjoy playing the game, who cares about the nice graphics?Don't get me wrong, this is still a beautiful game with perfect mood enhancing sounds. What makes this game a treasure is the story line along with "puzzles" that fit into the story near seemlessly. I've played almost every adventure game out there and this game is on my top 10 best games along with some of the Zork games, Myst, Monkey Island, & Grim Fandango. The puzzles aren't so hard that you go away annoyed and irritated. There is no pixel hunting. I think you will enjoy this game if you are the type of person who doesn't need flashy tricks to make up for a boring game with bad puzzles and lack of story line. This game is what all adventure games should strive to be. I enjoyed it and I hope you will too.

Rating: Summary: Simply Haunting Review: In my opinion, there just aren't enough good ghost story adventures, so I purchased this game without a second thought. Atmosphere is everything in this game, and sound plays a key role. From the eerie music to disembodied voices and otherworldly whispers and groans, this game begs to be played while wearing a set of headphones, which is exactly what I did. There are some nice visual touches too with glimpses of shadows, light motes, and the flickers of a ghost train through the window. The story starts after the cryptic phone call from your brother which sends you on a search find out what happened to him and others at the location of the old hotel and train station he was renovating. You uncover a history of mysterious disappearances. Despite previous comments, clues and puzzles do apply to the storyline in most cases and are pretty hard to miss with the simple interface. While not everything you see applies to advancing the game, these items often do add to the overall effect. Some of the puzzles can be a little tricky. I had a particulary hard time getting a key for a particular door and opening a suitcase, but for the most part it wasn't hard to get from place to place to find what I needed. Game play is your old frame by frame movement, which makes it easy to navigate and find things but lacks a little in this day and age of superior 3D environments. You have an inventory which is easy to use and doesn't get overloaded. The areas to explore are not very extensive, so you won't find yourself getting lost once you've explored a little. By the end of the game, I found myself with some unanswered questions, leaving the door wide open for a much-anticipated sequel. Even without that, I will be in line for Dark Fall II because of the excellent spooky quality of this game. There is much to be said for atmosphere, so turn out the lights, put on the headphones, and ask the Ouija board if you are in danger.
Rating: Summary: Absorbing puzzle adventure Review: Kept me very busy for a couple of nights. Lots of good puzzles that are, on the whole, very logical and therefore solvable. Good atmosphere and voice acting, beautiful graphics.
Rating: Summary: good fun Review: Not difficult but very entertaining. Turn off your lights to play this one, sound effects will give you butterflies! Too short, wish it had gone longer. Good things about game: 1. the apparitions teamed up with the sound effects were creepy. 2. a lot of rooms to investigate 3. some puzzles were a bit tricky 4. lots of time spent by the makers writing letters giving lots of background to the story. Not so good things about game: 1. A LOT of rooms to investigate - a bit redundant 2. A LOT to read!!! (but you don't have to read most of it to get through all the puzzles, I skimmed most of it) 3. short short short 4. what was that thing on the train platform for???
Rating: Summary: Too dark, and don't know where to continue the game. Review: Poor game! That's all I can say. But some people may like it. But not me. I should try to play the game if I have the chance before I pay for the game and waste my money.
Rating: Summary: Those shadows are spooky as... Review: Pretty good game. The puzzles range in difficulty -some are easy, most are moderate, a couple are just plain absurd. One requires you to place finicky objects in precise positions that are hard to determine accurately. One or two others are vague. On the whole though, the puzzles are fun... some are quite clever.
The games other selling point is high spook-factor. I tried playing with the lights off but freaked out and switched them back on. The sources of my fear were the disproportionately large and eerie shadows drawn into the background. Theyre really well done.
Rating: Summary: Alone with a Ghost Train, Creepy Shadows & a Deadly Secret Review: The Fantasy: An unnerving phone message left by your brother sends you off to an abandoned train station and hotel to find him. You are greeted by a mysterious little boy who leads you in the direction to get started, then vanishes. You are on your own now, totally alone....except for a few shadows darting about here and there, some ghostly beings who range from the cranky to the kind, disembodied voices, doors shutting on their own, the echo of footsteps, and a train that rattles your bones every time it passes through even though the track has been closed for ages. Oh, did I mention that besides your brother, the hotel staff, several guests, and a couple of paranormal researchers all disappeared without a trace, leaving all their belongings behind? Well, now it is up to you to figure out just what happened. You get to explore plenty of rooms in the dilapidated train station and spooky old hotel, dig through closets and drawers, fiddle with gadgets, and discover oodles of clues to piece together in order to reveal the dreadful details of exactly what became of the missing and what could happen to you. The Reality: *Dark Fall* is a fun, easy to play game with gorgeous graphics, lots of menacing details, an eerie soundtrack, and a dark ominous atmosphere. I could almost feel the damp mist clinging to my skin. Also, you get numerous rooms to snoop through and a nice little bounty of objects to pick-up and examine. If you are like me and enjoy leisurely searching every nook and cranny, then you'll like this. Some of the hotspots can be tricky so keep that pointer moving and a sharp eye out. The navigation is smooth and, although it's been a few months since I played, I don't recall any problem areas. Have fun and watch your back!
Rating: Summary: So-So Game Review: The graphics are just okay. The storyline is so-so. There is a lot of notetaking to do! Just try to use your head and write down the important stuff. It is a bit hard to gather what will be important, but you will get the hang of it. There is a lot of reading, but it adds to the story. If you don't read everything, it will make the game more boring with a less interesting tale. The game is not scarey, nothing is going to jump out and make your heart race. There are a few creepy sounds and that is it. Some of the puzzles are too easy, yet a couple took some figuring out. It is a lot of the same stuff over and over it feels, which gets a bit boring. I lost interest in it from the moment I started, but completed the game anyway. It is not the worse game, but I suppose could be better. I hope I like the second one more, if I even bother.
Rating: Summary: Scary and Engrossing Review: This game was great!! The storyline was engrossing - more facts as you explored about the missing people, including your brother. Ghosts, noises, visions. If you like character interaction, this is not the game for you. This is - explore, read, take MANY notes. Normally I get annoyed taking a lot of notes but in this game it was like being a detective as you had to piece information together to solve the variety of puzzles. I thoroughly enjoyed it and understand that a DF2 is in the works. Recommend this game!!
