It takes you about 10 minutes to walk from one side of any city to the other side, personally i think thats awsome. you can probably do almost anything and for you mmorpg fans out there this is the best one!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: -----======[ Just the Truth ]=====----- Review: (played EQ since the original release, and played Ultima Online even longer)Sure, everyone has something good and bad to say about this game. But lets take a moment to reflect on some things. Remember the feeling you got the first time you watched the original intro movie? (for those of you who are old enough to remember). How about the first character you made? Can you remember his/her name? What about the feeling you got the first time you were on the boat headed to a new area you've never seen? Do you remember the remarkable view from the ledge in Frontier Mountains and seeing a giant for the first time? I know these examples spark both good and bad memories for alot of you... probably 820,000 of you all around the world. Simple fact of the matter is this, if you've ever been hiking and admired the view from a lookout point and said to yourself: "Man, this looks just like Frontier Mountains." Or, if you were out for a jog and jokingly thought "I sure could use a SOW right now." What about this thought... "How many friends do you have online around the world?" Then you should really think about what your going to be doing with your life in the next year. Honestly, write it down, for instance "I'm going to take a vacation with the wife and kids, or I'm planning to get a better job." Or some of you will say something like: "Graduate high school and get my first apartment!" But if your still reading this, chances are you'll say something like "Going to buy a better system, play more, level faster, make more plat, get the new item, and maybe sell it when I get something better... and I dont care what anyone says about me, let me catch them online." This is just the truth, and alot of you know it. All I'm asking is take a minute and think about it. Will this game be pretty cool to play? You better believe it! Will there be problems here and there? Sure, but there's problems with everything! Am I going to get lost in the game and patiently wait for the servers to come back up so that you can be with your online family? You betcha! Because you want to. Kinks or no kinks, you'll be there... I know you will. Because when your speakers are turned up, and you hear the bass of the "DING!" you feel good. Everyone does. I say BUY IT!! ENJOY IT!! LIVE IT!! because you'll always find a way to do it even more if someone tells you not to! See you online.
Rating: Summary: A few things you need to know before trying this game Review: 1 If you have a dial-up connection you will never get the game to run smoothly.
2 You need a 2500 cpu with 1 gig+ of ram and a 256 video card to run with out severe
lag
3 The base monthly fee is $15 but your playing options will be very restricted if you don't get an all access pass for $7 per/month stat tracking $3 per/month an buy the new areas $4 every other month. Bring the real cost to $27 per/month
4 To sell items you find or make to other players you need to stay on-line in spot and do nothing. Most people leave the game running when there are asleep or at work so the can sell there stuff.
5 At about level 20 to make progress in the game you will blocks of at lest 3 hours uninterrupted playing time. At that level there is very little solo content. You will then need to work in a team to level, quest and create items. There are 50 levels.
This game does the best graphic of any game I have ever seen. After that there are no innovations that are unique to this mmopgs. If you have less than 30 hours a week to play per week you might want to skip this.
If you like mmopgs there are a many out there that are a lot more fun.
Word of Warcraft
City of heroes
Ever Quest Live
EQOA
Star Wars Galaxies
Final Fantasy XI Online
Ultima Online
Rating: Summary: Two cities is going to suck Review: A lot has been written about the effect of only having 2 cities and piling all the races up into either one and putting everyone on the side of good or evil. Yes they say the cities will be huge and there will be different neighborhoods where the races start off. But that is not the same as having separate racial cities in different parts of the world. I don't care how they describe it (a disaster wiped out all the other cities) it's just going to be lame. I want a dark elf city, deep underground in Neriak where the Dark Elves plot their evil deeds and avoid the daylight as well as other races as Drow elves should. I want a halfling village, tucked away somewhere in the "shire", hidden from the large cities and big populations. Someplace where I can go to relax and fish like in the early days of the original EQ. I want a dwarf town, inside a mountain where the dwarves mine for gold, gems and other metals. And an elven town in the forest like the original one in the trees. I know how much work they said they have put into making the cities huge and all but they should have put in half as much work on them and still made these other cities as well. It's much more interesting with a multi-polar world with different homelands that you travel to that makes it an immersive world. This is what made the original EQ so successful and it looks like they are getting away from that.

Rating: Summary: One of the most anticipated games this year! Review: As a (recently) former manager of an EB Games store, I can't even begin to tell you how many times I was asked about this game. Among games like FFXI, FFX2, and Halo 2, Everquest 2 leads the swells of anticipation. While I agree that EQ is highly socially oriented, very involving, and very addicting, on November 17, regardless of what anyone thinks, you will not be able to find a copy of this game unless you pre-ordered. Now, from an objective standpoint, there's nothing worse than someone who criticizes games with a closed mind. [...] If you want to solo in EQ, do it, if you don't like it, don't. People like different things and there is nothing wrong with 'soloing.' I know EQ is a MMORPG, you are supposed to interact with other players, but you don't have to. Quite frankly someone who gets so upset about soloists in EQ really should get outside and meet more physical people, and learn a new phrase like, "Physical Human Interaction." At any rate, the game is sure to be a hit, sure to sell out, sure to have some problems, and sure to have some critics. If I had to wager, I'd say that more people will be pleased with their purchase than not.
Rating: Summary: EQ2 will set the standard again Review: Check out the downloadable video clips recently (april 04) put up on the everquest2.com website in the media section. They are absolutely mindblowing. The realism of the graphics, and finally characters that actually speak English (not just text). The characters even blink like real people. I can't wait to try it out. This does not appear to be simply a facelift of EQ1 but a completely new game. This looks to me like a game you could probably enjoy just by exploring without fighting. It will probably need pretty massive computing power but I would much rather have that requirement than give up on the quality of the graphics. No doubt there will be some issues when it first comes out but that I think is the price we usually have to pay to break new technological barriers. Despite the complaints, I think there will be a huge amount of EQ players and others who will try EQ2. No matter what people say about their poor customer service, SOE will have to listen to players to prevent massive unsubscriptions. It seems like the trend, and rightly so, is towards greater realism, creating a virtual world more and more like reality. Will they succeed in a way that makes it even more fun than EQ? I hope so.
Rating: Summary: Do yourself a smart favor wait 3 or months before you buy. Review: Don't catch the must buy right off the bat fever with this game. Give it at least 3 months before you buy and try also look at non-soe game forums and take a peek at what REAL players have to say about the game. Why you say? read the following. SOE has a running reputation for releasing unfinished beta-ish games. EQ was unstable for months after release, with constant class balancing (nerfs), unworking quests, game breaking bugs etc. Same is said for SWG. Insert all the above text here. Don't accept the explainations that online games will have problems at release you pay a good fee up front and a monthly fee afterwards.
Rating: Summary: Everquest - Bane of life Review: Escape-ism at its finest. Your money would be better spent on a tread mill you will spend hous doing nothing. The customer service is non-existant The Policing of the population is non-existant How would you like to b3e playing one day and be propositioned for sex. Yes it happens. If you want to play a game to escape and have fun get some freinds and go play frisbee...you will live a longer happier life, I promise.
