Summary: Not good?
Review: I've been reading some of the reviews on here and I'm not liking what I'm seeing. I bought this game not too long ago and I would say that it is a must buy for any star wars fan who likes "Command & Conquer" style games. The camera view is kind of hard to figure out at first, but you do get used to it. Sound effects are awesome, and the graphics are really good. Just give it time and learn how to play it.

Summary: A few things to say, from a die hard Star Wars fan
Review: I remember when Force Commander was the hottest thing out...I would spend hours looking at the Force Commander Official Web Page weeks before it went gold. Then, a week afterwards, I bought it. At first I was impressed; very impressed as a matter of fact. The gameplay was new and exciting. The only trouble was that after a while it got...boring. I no longer have any will whatsoever to play it. It just became too - repetitive! All Force Commander really is is a Command and Conquer clone with a bad 3D engine, a bad interface, and a bad point system. No, it's even worse - it's a bad Command and Conquer wannabe. Let's face it, the evidence is abound - the bad music that tries to imitate the "hard rock" style of Command and Conquer, the "tank rush" tactics - it's simply a very, very bad Command and Conquer wannabe, and a true disgrace to Star Wars. And mind you, I'm as die-hard of a Star Wars Empire fan as you can get. Oh, sure, it's supposedly a pro-Empire game. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the Empire gets to have top billing in the most dispicable RTS game yet concieved. A much better game, and perhaps the best ground-based RTS game ever, is Ground Control. Just seeing those units rolling through desert wastes brings back images from Desert Storm; it's just about as realistic as you can get, even down to the fact that most real-life commanders simply cannot build new units right on the battlefeild so that they can "tank rush" the enemy. Force Commander does a very bad job disguising that by having equipment brought down from orbit, but yet it cannot recognize that evn Star Destroyers have their limits.

The moral of this story: Forget Force Commander, buy Ground Control!

Summary: Falls flat...
Review: In the tradition of Warcraft and Age of Empires, comes Force Commander. You get the chance to control a fleet to do ground battle against (mainly) the Rebels. While this all sounds exciting, the controls and interface are not easy to master right away. The 3D graphics make the game harder to view rather than being an enhancement. If it were easy to control and view, this would be one of the best RTS games. Stick with Age of Empire.

Summary: New to Computer Games? Don't Buy This
Review: As someone who used to play video games as a youngster, I was excited to initiate the process of picking the hobby back up as an adult. Being a Star Wars fan, the box this game comes in caught my eye. It made me think I would be able to jump right in and start fighting the enemy. I was extremely disappointed. This game is difficult to learn and boring. Unless you have hours and hours to invest and are easily amused, please take a pass on this one. I learned that one needs to read reviews of these games and target what you're looking for before jumping in and just buying the games off the shelf.

Summary: Dissapointing
Review: I am a true Star Wars fan and I collect everything and love all the movies but this was definatley not an enjoyable game. Sadley the gameplay did not come natural, so there was a learning curve. The graphics were behind the times and character movement was horribloe. I even often found AT-ST getting stuck up against a wall and unmoveable - a total frustrating moment. Yes this is Star Wars and yes it is great on that respect. However compare it to any RTS that came out a few years prior to it and you would be still dissapointed. I'm sure Lucasarts will try again soon, hopefully...

Summary: it is to hard
Review: The game makes you think that you can chose your side in the beginning. YOu can not, you must start as an imperial.

Summary: Not Cool....
Review: Im yet another Die-Hard Star Wars Fan. As soon as I heard of Star Wars: Force Commander, I instantly rushed too my local EB. I threw the CD in my 'puter and...waited... Once it was done I drooled at the prospect of commanding my troops into battle...as soon as i saw the first mission..my smile faded...graphics are ok sound is a knock off of Pearl Jam, and the camera stinks. If you buy this game, you have my pity my friend.

Summary: Force Commander is Great, BUT...
Review: I bought FoCom a week after it was released. After playing it, it was great, but there are a number of problems. First of all, the graphics could be better. I think they can be a litter bit crisper. Also, the terrain is a bit patchy, especially on the Abridon levels. There is an omission of several Imperial craft, such as the Floating Fortress or the S.1 Firehawk tank, which I would like to see in there. Those stupid Ewoks can destroy an AT-ST by flinging rocks at it - I think whoever was in charge of the Endor levels better take a good look at what he was smoking at the time;) Your walkers are also damaged whenever they run over somebody, I noticed. The DF.9 and P-Tower defnsive turrets can detroy AT-ATs. If any of you were watching TESB, you know that is inaccurate. Also, I noticed that the Empire seems to have a lot of women in there forces. I know this may sound shoveinest, but remember the Empire is supposed to be oppressive. There are no women or aliens on the Rebel side, either, which makes me think just how much research did these guys put into FoCom? Anyway, after three years of development, you think they could've done better, but with all the nit-picking aside, it's still pretty fun:)

Summary: Confusing but Great
Review: Star Wars Force Commander is a great game and all. At first you think oh this game has great graphics with the 3D Acclerator. Afterwards the play control may seem hard but after a while it's not so hard. The plot is for any Star Wars fan who like Starcraft and Command and Conquer.

Summary: slow gameplay, some glitches
Review: I found Star Wars fun at first but its lasting appeal died off fast and the levels and gameplay were very slow. There were a couple annoying gltches, including a menu glitch which made it impossible to read the menu. Finally the graphics are not so good. Not very impressive for a lucas arts game. But if you are a die hard star wars fan it would be a pretty fun game.
