Summary: you an't seen nothin till you get this
Review: okay I'l admit that I havn't been playing this game very long( 4 or five times.) I ,hower, am a huge RtS fan. I have seen and bought dozens of them. Then I found Earth 2150. I was amazed from the first day I played it. The graphics were stunning and a lot better than I'd expected. The lighting effects were excellent. There are real time day and night cycles which actually have a significant effect on gameplay. The terran has a big impact on game play. This game also involves more strategy than any so-called strategy games like Starcraft (THE worst game in the history of PC games.) It's just incredibl when you realize the incredible amount of strategy in the game. Bases are usually built on large scales and look really cool when they are big. The camera angle is easy to control. The movies and cutscenes are incredible. The graphics overall are very good and are real 3-D. In earth 2150 you choose from a huge variety and quantity of unit parts( weapons nd gadgets, ammunition type and body) and design your unit and add it to the consruction list. Part of the reson that the unit blances are so good is that you can only put some types of weapons n certain typs of unit chasis (bodies.) Still, there are over fiftty units for each side when you've used all the combinations. Each weapon that u put on a unit can accomplish it s on unique set of tasks. There are plenty of resources on the map so u ddon't ned toworr about unnning outof them. The maps them seleve are big enugh by anyone's standards. Each side ass their own uniqueset of parts to build their units. It only costed me nine bucks at Best Buy! Each side can also build briges across river. Each side also has ther own construction unit. Missile trails and explosions look good. The batles look and are spectacular. Part of the reson or this is that nearby units can be damged by flying derbies and larg exposions. Unlike wacraft 3 there water units. The sountrack is good and the story lin is very creative. Unlike in a lot of strategy games tany one of the many super eapons can be bocked. the game is just a stunning experience despite the very low price. There are also a lot of options when it comes to units. You can set the units behavior(there are quite a fw options for this), tell it to turn off its light, and if its an air unit tell it to land. The units and the sructures have a very cool futuristic look to them. Each one of the tree sides has plenty of structures and you can even customize your defensive structures. As said earlier your units and buildings can turn of their lights which can be used to your advantage in severel ways and also affects the game play in other ways. You can also build tunnels. Units don't take o long to build (like in starcraft) or to short of a time to build. There are also occasional meteor showers. It eems like the producers put extra work into every imaginabl area of the game. The story line is creative and the musicis good. There are air water and ground units. Some units can carry multiple types of weapons. Well, enough said.. I you don't have it get it. Defintaly better than Star craft of any of those other overated games (though can't wait to see what C&C Generals is going to bee like....)

Summary: Great Ideas, but...
Review: Thats all there is to it. I had read countless reviews about how wonderful this game was, only to find that it is an unfortuntate excuse for a RTS. This game deserves credit in the sense that it has great graphics, story line, and gameplay variety; but it lacks any real fun value. For example, any player new to the real-time strategy genre will be overwhelmed by the excessivly numerous option availible to you. Don't get me wrong: I love a varied RTS. But this one embellished far too much on graphics to pay attention to anything else. The sound is cheap, providing each unit with only limited dialogue, and for that matter every unit on each of the three sides has the same voice/dialogue. Often times it's difficult to hear unit acknowledgements or explosions and gunfire, so you don't even have the slightest idea when you're being attacked. The game's physics are ridiculus, giving a gigantic cumbersome air/space craft vehicle with the instaneous speed and manuverability of a cheetah. In addition to poor sound quality, and bad unit movements, the most obvious impediment to the player is layout. Sure, you collect minerals and build an army right? Essentially yes, but its not that easy. You have to specifically research and design each unit's chassis, weaponary, defenses, after which you've probably been attacked before you have built what could be considered an army. Even if you do get a large army established, there is still the fact that you have to keep researching and SPECIFIACALLY design each unit AGAIN, in order to stay at the top of the technology tree. The units even look the same on your construction menus (which often get confused with the structure menus), and they are all a solid same color, with the same simple voice acknowledgments. I don't mean to be a bitter grape, saying all this amongst all these 5 star reviews, but believe me--I know what I'm talking about. Every reviewer who says that this game is revolutionary only sees how different this game is to other RTS'in the fact that it has good graphics. So overall this game has beautiful graphics, but crappy gameplay. Suffice to say, if you want an easy to learn, difficult to master, and fun to play game then buy something GOOD like Red Alert 2 (great units and interface) or Starcraft (neat variety)but don't buy Earth 2150 for all that it has going for it is astonishing graphics, and an insanely overated interface of confusing and unecessary options.

Summary: Not that good
Review: The game is good but the building and all units are the same color and it is hard to tell who is who and what is what. The graphics may look good generally but if you look closely the details on some things are horible! The guys who made that game made the units with diffreent shapes and lines so it make it even harder to see. Units and building are so covered with shapes and lines, that it reminds me of a low budget movie. Also when it is night in the game, You cant see anything! I have a 100% vision my friend and that game is nothing but poop.

Summary: Not that good
Review: The graphics are the ..., the weather effects are tight, and the plot is pretty damn interesting. The campaings are nerve racking and can be annoying, however: build, harvest, kill. well thats what it is suppossed to be it's actually: build, research, build, harvest, research, build, research, harvest, kill, build, research, die, start over, research, research,... research,... research, build, build, be taken over by some weird hacker named NEO, build, harvest, and kill. And then die again.

And then start over again. And this is just one scenario. I dont mean to be talking ..., it's actually a pretty good game for the money, except, i got it for free.

If you've got the money and the technology, buy it. but it isn't worth getting a new computer over.

Summary: All other RTS's eat dust
Review: This game is awsome. Not only does it have weather effects but the time of day changes, seasons change, and the shadows even keep up with the time of day. Units left in one spot while its snowing will collect snow, and when they move it falls off. The designers took detail to way beyond another level, they went to a whole other dimension. The game play is also fun and there are many great techs, units, and features. Other RTS's eat your heart out!

Summary: What a game!
Review: This game is incredible! The graphics are great, the gameplay is awesome, and it really leaves room for some great battle strategys. There are ALOT of controls, commands and buttons to remember, but unless you're a newcomer to RTS games they all make the game even more interesting.

Summary: A new benchmark in RTS
Review: This game is quite similar to starcraft but the major difference in Earth 2150 are the graphics ground control has good graphics but just graphics that`s all.Earth 2150 is the best RTS game out there. If you are RTS fan this game is must for you collection.Easy learning curve and good tutorials make this game very easy to play.Weather system is brilliant and the time system is classical. In the end i will like to say that RTS games cannot get more real then this.

Summary: Think of this as 4.5 stars
Review: This is a beautiful 3D real-time strategy game. Earth 2150 brings to the ground what Homeworld introduced to the genre. The terrain is gorgeous and deformable. The camera is very easy to use. Unique overall campaign goals to keep in mind in addition to mission goals adds a lot of depth to the game.

Speaking of depth, you can even take the battle underground in tunnels! You have to manage power for your buildings, your research needs, and whether you spend the credits you mine or send them back to the main base. You even design the units you will build by picking a base vehicle and its equipment.

All of this depth is what I find fascinating about this game; it has all this stuff crammed in, and it's even fun to play! The only problems I have with this game are with the manual. It gives a decent overview, but doesn't give a lot of details about the units, buildings, or advanced features (like platoons). But there are very good tutorials, so RTS vets can jump right in.

Earth 2150 plays great and looks great, and there is a lot to do in it. It even runs pretty well on my PII 400MHz, 96MB RAM, and 8MB ATI 3D Rage Pro integrated AGP video.
