Dino Island

Summary: Jurassic parks meets Sim city - nice touch.
Review: Dino Island is a fairly decent sim type game. You are in charge of creation, feeding, raising and placing them on farms. Although you have the ability create a custom dinosaur, I didn't find this an easy task.

The installation was straight forward and no complications occurred, although I recommend restarting after install to make sure the game runs the first time. The game ran on 98, 2000 and XP without any problems, I did have to update to DirectX 9 for Windows ME.

Also during installation I had to disable my virus scanner to complete the install. Graphics are very good and the play is good and you set the pace and build up your theme parks, etc.

Overall this game is rated E for everyone and judging from the content this seems appropriate. I think that once the younger kids master the creation they are going to want more, which leads to Dino Island II.

Summary: Create your own dinosaur theme park... in 3D
Review: In Dino Island you can create your own dinosaur theme park. The idea is to create enclosures of dinosaurs on an island of your choice, to attract guests to your park.
The really fun part is the fact that you can make your own species of dinosaurs in the lab. You can cross breed existing dinosaurs or just zap them with rays. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to cross a T-rex with a Stegosaurus - well you can find out!
Also, just like in any theme park game there are rides, shops and attractions to pull in the crowds.
The graphics of Dino Island are excellent. The game is totally 3D and lets you rotate 360 degrees around your park to see it from all angles. The zoom is also very powerful.
As well as freeform games, there's also a handfull of challenges to complete.
If you like management games such as Zoo Tycoon you should definitely buy this!
