Summary: The Best Real-Time Strategy Game EVER
Review: This is all ofcourse my opinion and my belief. I have played hundreds if not thousends of games through my 26 years and no game has ever enticed me so much as C&C. If I had to list the reasons there would be no space. I have ofcourse played many good strategy games but as far as complexity, structure, and thinking goes C&C has no match. Except for maybe chess.

Summary: another game for another c&C fan. yeah.....oh I'm sorry.
Review: Suprise, suprise.....another game out that is ANOTHER command and CONQUER game. Has anyone heard of the hundreds of doom clones. I like C&C as much as the next gammer, but unless there is a major difference as far as the gameplay goes and a HUNDRED more weapons to chose from, this game is deffinetly of my shopping list!

Summary: Tiberian Sunset
Review: The original "Command & Conquer" was a Hall of Fame game in its day. The sequel, "Red Alert," was interesting, but fell short of the original. C&C:Tiberian Sun continues this decline.

For fans of real-time strategy, Tiberian Sun is still a good game and worth a dive into the bargain bin. Tiberian Sun, however, will disappoint those who enjoyed the well-balanced original C&C with its fun plot-line and great soundtrack.

Tiberian Sun boils down to the same basic formula... gather resources, build units, destroy opponent. Neither the cut scenes nor the missions really immerse the player in the game.

The new units and scenery are, at best, eye candy. At worst, the changes unbalance game play. It's easier to win as the Nod (bad guys). The Nod artillery weapon is relatively inexpensive and incredibly deadly. The Nod also has a burrowing personnel carrier that makes it easy to infiltrate your oppponent's base.

Gameplay is not helped by lackluster computer AI. The game is best played in multi-player mode rather than solo against the dull-witted PC.

The sound and graphics are not remarkable. The gameplay is adequate, but lacks the edge, tension and creativity of the previous editions of this now venerable classic. If you enjoy RTS games, Tiberian Sun is worth an inexpensive look, but not much more.

Summary: Neat-o
Review: I don't see why some people say this game is so bad. Actually, I think it's pretty darn good. Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is a war/strategy game where you set out to conquer the world in the Brotherhood of Nod, or defend peace as commander of the Global Defence Initiative (GDI). The graphics are WONDERFUL, or at least so compared to the other C&C games. Explosions look real, your battle units erupt smoke as they are about to die. The graphics are almost too good; it gets a bit bloody sometimes. Oh, and the cutscenes are also a major improvement, I'm not good at rating movies, but these at least are better than the original C&C's. You're not just having a small talk with your superiors then going into combat, you are actually a person on the screen and the story evolves with these cutscenes. The sound as in the sound effects are themselves pretty good, but they sound so often that you get a bit annoyed. The music is really something, all-new tracks but with the same sort of techno beat. There are only 15 now, though. As for single-player gameplay, it's great exept for a slight disatvantage: once the basic armored units become available, the rest of the units become almost obsolete. The armored units, with little or no support, can attack or defend very well. The game has two "campaigns," one for GDI, one for Nod. Your opponet is controlled by the computer. Also, there's a random map generator which gets you right into play with the AI. As for multiplayer, I'm sure it's very good but I have heard of some bugs in the connection. The fact is, I've never actually played it because I love the single-player mode. I'm also sure that it has the same disadvantage as the single player (see above). Sorry for the lack of information. The storyline has more detail of the conflict than ever. Video cutscenes will really get you into the storyline, despite the fact they are incredibly short. One last thing: I don't think Nod has a big advantage over GDI. I think that GDI, using proper strategies and tactics, can beat Nod any day. And Nod can do so to GDI.

Summary: Same as the original
Review: Remember Command and Conquer, the real-time strategy that lets you build a base, a lot of units and rush the opposing force? You'd think the developers of the original would come up with some innovative game play for the sequel. While maybe they can, they didn't here. Not only is the game play unchanged, it suffers from a weak story, poor balancing and computer AI and several small problems.

The single player campaign story, what there is of it, is just a jumble of scenarios without much to tie them together. There are characters and things happen to them but but there isn't a story progression to follow. You fight over here, you fight over there, then it's the final battle. In fact I reached the end of the GDI campaign without realizing it. The live video cut-scenes should have helped create a rich back-story but writing this I can't remember any of it.

There are balance issues particularly with NOD units and structures. A NOD 'super laser' structure can destroy almost anything with one shot but the NOD artillery is completely unbalanced. With a long range and a big punch, the artillery is can wipe out any ground force, and is unstoppable even in small numbers as long as a small anti-air backup is nearby.

The computer is an easy opponent. It doesn't rush but sending units at piecemeal, a handful at a time. It doesn't protect it's harvesters either, once you locate them it's easy to cut-off the computer's resources. The computer showed some initiative just once: During a NOD scenario several GDI engineers rushed my base taking several of my structures. I was so surprised it nearly wiped me out but building a good perimeter stopped later rushes. In the scenarios that followed the engineer rush never happened again. I didn't try any higher difficulty levels, maybe the computer plays better there.

Large maps are hard to manage, the game tell you that an offscreen unit is lost but not where the unit is. Some scenarios seem designed to simply frustrate you with a huge map and a timed objective with no direction as to where to accomplish it. In the end the game is all about the mass rush, once you build 50 or medium strength units nothing the computer can't stop you. On the technical side this game ran perfectly on Windows 2000.

If you're looking for more of the original Command and Conquer this game's for you.

Summary: Tiberian Sun is still the best of the C&C/Red Alert series!
Review: When it comes to single-player (solo) gaming, Tiberian Sun is the best of
the C&C/Red Alert series! Why? Let me count the reasons.

Tiberian Sun missions are the most varied and interesting. It isn't all
about building up a base and destroying the enemy's base. When you play as
a GDI or NOD, you think one side really is superior (I thought GDI was
until I realized NOD had better defensive base capabilities). The units &
vehicles were really ahead of its time when you compare the game to RA or
RA2. And lastly, TS really was harder for me compared to the other series.

When it comes to multi-player (online) gaming, I imagine that TS is the
best to play with too, although I imagine that NOD gets played an
overwhelming amount due to its superior defensive base technologies and
offensive weapons (stealth, artillery, destructive chemical weapons,
lasers, burrowing, etc). The only good thing I can think about GDI is if
someone gets to build too many bombers, then GDI will attrition NOD to
death.

Summary: Dont bother
Review: Well, if you have Red Alert 2 - or are trying to get into the C&C world - this is not where you need to go. Red Alert 2 is WAY better. As for TS - its repetative, meaning once you beat both clans (you are one, or the other - and thats IT) missions (if you bother) you will probably never play it again. There are no add ons worth a darn, there are no special units to get excited over...its confusing, its slow, it has silly premesis behind it, and- its just no fun...PS: I have been told to stay away from GENERALS too - RA2 forever!
