Summary: Truly spectacular
Review: I purchased Heroes of Might & Magic 1 and 2 for the Mac, and enjoyed both of them. So naturally I rushed out to buy the 3rd installment. And I doesn't disappoint at all. The graphics, while not dramatically improved from the last game, are beautiful. The gameplay is very easy to pick up and learn. The new hero types are a vast improvement, along with all the different army types that accompany them. The heroes you control take on more personality finally. They have short descriptions, and are able to advance up levels as in RPG's. In campaign mode, you are sometimes able to carry your best heroes over from game to game. If you enjoy the Heroes of Might & Magic series, you can't go wrong picking up the 3rd one....it takes the best things from the other two and expands upon them, while adding lots of new features, army types, artifacts, and terrains.

Summary: Heroes 3
Review: I tried this game at a friend's house and I was instantly hooked! This is the best game I have ever played. While playing you also have to think instead of just dumbly clicking your mouse, it has great graphics, and it's just really fun.

Summary: Best Computer game I've ever played
Review: I've never played a computer game before where every part of it is fun. Usually games are mostly fun, but have a few boring parts you have to put up with. In Heroes 3, everything you do is a delight.

Summary: Good but buggy.
Review: It's an excellent turn based strategy game with a lot of replayability, marred by a few minor bugs and performance issues that 3DO never did fix. (There's a few spells in the game I've still never seen!) For a trun 5 star rated game, try the new HOMM 3.

Summary: Just one more turn and I'll go to bed...
Review: It's as much fun as the earlier HOMM games. That means: lots of fun. Actually, it's even more fun. There are more artifacts, more places to visit, more heroes, better graphics, and more complicated town types. This is a solid step forward from the previous game. But it keeps that "oh, just one more turn and I can build this!" addictive thing going.

The Mac port seems about the same quality as the HOMM2 port. It doesn't have gaping holes like HOMM2, which had a couple of notoriously broken features. On the other hand, HOMM2 never crashed on me and this game has already crashed several times. I I hope we get the two expansion packs soon. The expansion packs restore some of the critters I missed most from HOMM2, like the phoenix.

I have only one complaint: the vampires don't go "BLEH!" when they hit now. Aw.

Summary: An argument for neural implants
Review: Of the strategy games, this is my all-time favourite. The graphics are fantastic, the spells are awesome, and the gameplay doesn't crash my computer. :) This game is about as addictive as it gets--I'd take it intravenously if I could. You might want to think twice about buying it if you have other interests...job, family, etc. My only caveat is that the Complete addition is the only way to get the nifty Shadow of Death upgrade (I already owned HOMM3 and Armageddon's Blade). However, after a few hours of HOMM3, the pain in my pocketbook just faded away...

Review: One of the best computer game I have ever played

Summary: Don't play this game before you have to be somewhere.
Review: One of the only games that I've become truly addicted to. It's very easy to say, "I'm going to sit down and play for half an hour and then get back to work." but 4 hours later, you'll find yourself saying, "Just one more turn! I'm about to get Death Knights!"
