Summary: Grat Idea....Terrible Execution
Review: As a fan of sim games like SimCity and Free Enterprise (to name but a few), I purchased this one thinking that the concept of operating a fast food chain had great possibilities....unfortunately, Activision has blown this one. First, if you want instructions, you are out of luck. Next, the tutorials are meager to say the least. Throughout the game, the icons that drive everything you do are hard to decipher without using the help feature. To really start playing this game and to know what you are doing would take hours since the only way to learn it is through a great deal of trial and error (much more than any other games of this ilk).

In a nutshell, this game disappoints.

Summary: Pizza Tycoon
Review: As a simulation fan and a true foodie, I was anxious to get my hands on a copy of this game. Boy, was I sorry!

I realized after 5 minutes of game play that pizza was the only fast food that could be created in this game. I wondered why it wasn't called "Pizza Tycoon". Marketing strategy? I did some research and found out that they actually made a rev. 1 of this game (this one being rev. 2) AND it was called 'Pizza Tycoon'. Interesting! The scary part is that even after 2 releases of this game, it is so bad it never should have made it out of the QA lab.

Although this game was not packaged with an instruction manual, one is sorely needed. A typical user could not possibly figure out how to play this game without it. In addition, the repeatability is almost non-existent. Hiring waitresses is similiar to hiring staff in Theme Hospital. There are varied wages and personality traits to contend with. Should you hire the speedy worker for more money or a slow worker for less money? Unfortunately, this game did not have any interest beyond that. The topping choices on the pizzas is about the extent of it (-and there is only a handful to select from). Beyond these two points, you select your location for your restaurant and there is nothing else left to maintain your interest in the game. The graphics aren't even appealing. The box looks better then the actual game. Sad for an era where we can create graphics beyond our wildest imaginations and this game pars almost as bad as the Atari 2600.

I finally uninstalled it and sold it.

Summary: Not what I expected....
Review: Being a lover of simulation games, I could hardly wait to get my copy of Fast Food Tycoon. After loading it on my PC, I was quickly disappointed. As the other reviewers stated, it's difficult to get started because there is no instruction manual. The tutorial is sketchy at best. The "fast food" involved here is strictly pizza.

Try designing your own pizzas and you'll quickly learn that customers aren't happy with them. They seem to prefer ants (yes, insects) over mushrooms. The only way you can tell if customers are not pleased with your restaurants is by an icon over their head. However, there is no way to tell what these icons stand for, nor does it state anywhere WHY they were displeased with your service. If it is because of shoddy service, you're out of luck. The only control you have over your employees is hiring and firing (i.e., you can't make them wait on customers).

Playability is limited. I've had mine for two days now, with a total of about six hours played, and I'm done with it.

The only good thing I can say about this game is that the graphics were done nicely. The characters are funny to look at.

Proceed with caution on this one....

Summary: Found the Icons--Glossary
Review: Demographics in the back, then click on the bottom icon, then click on the cloud to the right. Took me 2 weeks to find it, but now at least I understand. This makes the game make more sense, but I wish they would write something like "GLOSSARY" below the cloud.

Summary: Now how do u build a 1st Class Resturant w/ 1 gourmet star??
Review: From all of the reviews that I read, I totally thought that I would have something different to say but I don't. I purchased Fast Food Tycoon 2, which is fairly fun because you get to put rats and stink bombs in the competing resturants. However after you get so far it like ok....how do you do whatever the goal is. I have been playing this game off and on for about three months and once I get to the third level, I figure out how to do all of the levels goals but one and it hard because there is no manual to part 2 either so you're like playing until something different happens. The game is very amusing if you like being able to blow up places and threaten money out the weaker AI player but the game should only be played if you got a lot of time on your hands because it takes a lot of figuring out.

Summary: Icons are confusing
Review: I bought the game without the manual for about 15 bucks. If you can find it with the manual, but that. It is so confusing without it and I am having a tough time with all the features. I mean the game looks cool, but I don't understand how to use the tricks and stuff. Too bad activision got rid of FFT's homepage.

Summary: This Game Sucks!!!!!!!!
Review: I bought this game and it doesnt come with any instruction booklet and they expect you to try to figue it out. I have tried for hours and it makes no since. It looks like it has potential to be a fun game in the store...but no booklet gets you nowhere.I wish I could take it back!!!!!

Summary: Buyer Beware
Review: I bought this game like I have bought most sim games. This one could be alot of fun if you knew what you were doing. but unfortunatly, no instruction booklet comes with it. It does have a tutorial, but its kinda hard to follow, and its not there when you go to do it on your own. I have given this game about ten hours now and still have gone bust with each time. I have yet to win a scenario. If you dont automate the help, you cant figure out how to space them so they dont all show up at once and go home at once leaving an empty restaurant with hungry customers. You can automate everything, but what fun is that? As mentioned in another review, if you knew what your customer was thinking it would be nice so you can try to change it, but there is no way to tell. My advice is to [ignore] any game that doesnt come with an instruction manual.

Summary: Make Your Own Pizza while Running your very own Resturant
Review: I brought Fast Food Tycoon a few years back because I enjoy playing the demo I got online. It is one of my favorite classic game like Theme Hospital.
Pros:love the graphic, you get to do other things besides make pizzas like sell weapons, sabotage your competitors, and make your own style of pizza
Cons: wish you can serve more than just pizza, and hard to understand how to play at the beginning since it doesn't come with a manual. Overall enjoyed it very much, and plan on gettting Fast Food Tycoon 2
