Summary: Two thumbs up for "Rainbow Six"!!!
Review: One of my favorite games of all time! The other reviews said it all... The graphics and playability are first rate, and the emphasis on good planning, encourages brains more than brawn.

One thing not stressed enough in my opinion though, is the great multiplay to this excellent game. The fact that players don't respawn when killed encourages players to play toughtfully and work as a team with other players.

It's THE ONLY multiplayer game I have really ,really liked!

Summary: GREATEST ACTION GAME EVER
Review: ONE OF THE GREASTEST, ALONG WITH THE OTHER GAMES IN THE RAINBOW SIX GAME SERIES. A MUST BUY FOR ACTION BUFFS! MULTIPLAYER IS GREAT TOO ON THIS GAME!

Summary: Amazing Covert Ops game!!!
Review: Rainbow Six incorporates all the elements of a strategy game coupled with the very best of a first-person shooter. Forget about running around obliterating enemies like quake or unreal. This involves careful planning, with enemies as quick and sharp as you'll hope to be. Die, and your operative is gone for the remainder of the game. Ultra-realistic, there are no fancy over the top weapons, but actual firearms used by special forces such as NATO and the CIA. The missions are nail-biting action all the way, with exotic locations never similar to the others. You have the option of playing it 1st person ala Quake, or a 3rd view perspective from behind, which is awesome. If you've got a graphics accelerater card, the graphics and speed bring you even closer to the action. This game sets the benchmark for all other games in its camp. GET IT

Summary: Rainbow Six
Review: Rainbow Six is a great game because you get to run around killing terrorists which is a cool thing for the problemes we are going though now i think that using M-16's and other guns in about a 10 level game is pretty cool don't ya think. Also it is not easy. you can play with a second player and you can go through a training camp where the computer theaches you how to play. this is one of the greatest games for the computer ever. i reccomened this to all action and shooting game lovers

Review: Rainbow Six is a great SWAT team simulator. I have had it for about 6 months. I always play this game online. Multiplayer play is great. Other great Rainbow Six titles are Rainbow Six Rogue Spear and Eagle Watch.

Review: Rainbow Six is an an action game which tests your tactical skills in a very realistic. Save hostages and eliminate terrorists as you navigate yourself through a 3D accelerated environment. I would highly recommend it.

Summary: The best strategy-action game of all time!
Review: Rainbow Six is in my view, the best strategy-action game. It requires a tactical mind but also a a "quick trigger finger." One rating that you might question is the educational value of the game. I gave it a 3 because it does require a mind to play. Actually I usually spent more time on developing a take-down plan than actually killing the terrorists. Also, one feature that makes this game different from others is one shot kills. In the end, if you want a great game, get Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six.

Summary: Needs hardware, but rules supreme.
Review: Rainbow Six is loosely based around the Tom Clancy novel with the same name. In the game, you lead a team of elite counter terrorism troopers to take down "tangos" or terrorists in a variety of locations.

Pros: Comprehensive and fully realized, the presentation is close to flawless. The game allows you to pick team members, their gear, their strategy and combat plans, and then lets you lead them into combat. An excellent idea, and the strategy parts of the game can take an our to plan out before you even enter the mission. The missions can be very hard, just because one hit kills. If you get hit at close range, your guy is dead for the rest of the campaign. Thus you must move silently and stealthily to take out terrorists before they see you, or it's gonna be a can-you-shoot-faster-and-better-than-him contest. And one error and it's game over.

Cons: Graphics are not very spectacular unless you have a serious processer (ie, Pentium II, above 233 mhz) and some serious 3D hardware (OpenGL, Voodoo II, ATI RAGE, etc). Otherwise, get ready to groan as your spiffy Pentium 366 is only able to run R6 in 320x240 resolution which doesn't look great. Also, your team of crack commandos seem brainless as they run around in circles getting shot, just because they don't understand the concept of backing you up. And you can't peek around corners, so one hit kills can become very adrenaline pumping.

Overall: A very solid buy. If you don't mind bad graphics, I'd seriously fork out the cash for the CPU and 3D gear. multiplayer can be a blast to play, single-player will keep you interested for a very long time, and the game just rocks. It may not seem impressive in this review, but the basic gameplay works fine and remains being insanely fun. Buy it.
