Summary: WOW!!!
Review: WOW!!! This game is totally awsome. There are so many things to do and see. So many animals to buy and take care of. A few of them are: lions, elephants, zebras, penguins, and polar bears! You can hire zoo keepers, tour guides, and more. Keep your guests happy with restaurants and other stands such as pizza stands, hamburger stands, ice cream stands, drink stands, and even gift stands! But that is not all. If you are looking for that perfect computer game, ZOO TYCOON'S THE ONE!!!!

Summary: One of the best games ever!!
Review: This game is great! I am 13 years old and my three brothers, who are 10,7 and 4, love it too. My 4 year old brother needs a little bit of help when he plays it, and my 7 year old brother just needed a little bit of help the first time he played it.
And my 10 year old brother is really good at it(except on his first try, six walruses climbed out of their tank and scared the pants off of all the people), and of course, so am I.
We have just the trial version and it's really good but it will be even better with the real Zoo Tycoon(it needs it to run completly).
The animals are SOOOOOO cute! Especially the orcas and polar bears. You can even name all of them, too. Its like you're running your own zoo! You have to keep all the guests happy by supplying hamburger stands, drink stands and restrooms.
You can even make your own orca show and you can put which tricks you want to be performed in the order that you want them to be in.
It's a little tricky to keep the Allosauruses and the Velociraptors happy, but you'll soon find out that they like half of one kind of terrain and half of another.
Get this game! It's GREAT!

P.S: Whatever you do, DON'T use concrete walls for an Allosaurus! It'll break right through them. :)

Summary: The whole family is hooked!
Review: This is a great game for all ages. My daughter (the college student) loves it. My niece and nephew (ages 3 and 4) she plays till she gets bored, then he gets to delete the gates and watch all the animals run wild. I am embarassed to say it but I play almost every day.

Summary: One of the better "Tycoon" games
Review: Graphics: Mediocre. Standard isometric view. Animals should look a lot better. But hey, it's a zoo strategy game... graphics aren't too important here!

Sound: Standard fare, but it could be much better. Things such as hearing music as you get to different places is a little amusing, as are some of the animal sounds. The random laughter that is heard occasionaly is annoying.

Game: It's fun, and addicting.
Pros: Many animals, many stores, and a freeform mode. Freeform is my favorite because you can set the money as high as you want (with a little editing of a *.ini file). I guess watching animals fight is a pro too!
Cons: BAD terrain editing. Hard to get animals to cooperate with other species, which I consider to be the biggest con. Oversensitive animals. Bad guest AI.

Buy it, get the Marine Mania Expansion pack.

Summary: What a wonderful little game!
Review: I'm not big on zoos. So I hesitated for a while before purchasing this game. I thought, eh, how exciting can a zoo really be?

It is. It's quite fun. It's not anything mind-blowing, and the premise follows the same SIM format as other games, but it's really quite a delightful little game.

You set up your zoo with various animals ranging from Tropical to North American. Then you set up food stands, gift shops, restaurants, trash bins; everything to make your guests happy and comfortable.

You also hire staff -- from zoo keepers who tend the animals, to tour guides to maitenance staff to keep the park clean -- and fences mended so the lions don't get out!

I could see how this game would be an excellent tool for parents to teach children about wildlife -- its needs, what elements it requires to live happily, its point of origin.

But it's also a fun game for adults if you're a fan of SIM games. The interface is smooth and intuitive, and after the imposed tutorial at the beginning you can plunge right into it.

All in all, it's a great game. Enjoy!

Summary: My daughter gives it a BIG THUMBS UP!
Review: I don't play this game but my 9 year old daughter does and she LOVES it! We also purchased the expansion game. She plays for hours on end and enjoys creating her own zoo! Good game at a GREAT price!

Summary: Don't Tell Your Kids, But It's Educational!
Review: Educational because they'll learn (1) all about animals and their environments and (2) how to run a business. So, whether your a fervent animal person or a raging capitalist, this game has something for everyone!

The graphics are great, especially the actions of the animals. You can create your own aquatic animal shows, and those are really fun to watch, especially if your customers enjoy it (they stand up and applaud).

This expansion pack also includes Dinosaur Digs, so it's a great deal. And the possibilities of running a zoo with land animals, dinosaurs, and aquatic animals are fun, fun, fun.

All in all, it provides hours of fun!

Summary: I love this game!!
Review: ... This is a really, really neat game and it is so much fun building the zoo, putting the animals in it and trying to keep them happy by putting in trees and rocks and water and other animals. I put a tiger in with a monkey and the tiger ate the monkey. That wasn't a good thing. You also have to keep the people who visit your zoo happy by having bathrooms and benches and food and drinks and stuff like that. And if the people notice that the animals aren't happy then the people aren't happy and your zoo starts to lose money and some organization won't let you adopt any more pets until they are all happy. You can also run out of money. It's different from Roller Coaster Tycoon where on RCT you can close a ride, close the park and stuff like that and you can't do that with this game. I wish you could and that is the only thing that I don't like about this game but other than that it really rocks!!! You should buy it. ...
