Rating: Summary: Very fun and addictive Review: This is an excellent game. It is great for roller coaster fans and simulation game lovers. It is very fun and addictive. You get to choose from 14 different types of roller coasters to design and build. You also get to design your own log flumes, go kart tracks, car rides, and walk-through mazes! You can also choose from a large variety of rides, shops and stalls, and scenery and theming objects. The game also teaches important business management skills. You have to make sure you stay far away from debt and keep your guests happy. This is truly a great game.
Rating: Summary: One of the best games that I've ever played. Review: Roller Coaster Tycoon is one of those games that provides infinate replayability and has the intangible "fun" factor. You can design your own coasters and water rides, and place many other types of rides in. You can place hundreds of landscaping objects in to make your park pretty, and assign employees to keep your park running. The game has a huge amount of detail(some people prefer intense rides, some are just content sitting on the merry-go-round, for example) but you're never bogged down with micromanagment. Designing your own roller coaster is very hard (expect many flops when you first start out), but there are many pre-built coasters to drop into your park and thousands can be downloading from the internet! The park has a feeling of life that you rarely see in a computer game. Every person in your park is modeled in great detail and acts just like a real person would.
Rating: Summary: The BEST for all time and FOREVER! Review: I LOVE rollercoasters and therefore love this game. It is most likely the best sim ever. I mean fourteen different types of rollercoasters plus your favorite thrill rides, water rides and traditional rides. This is by far the greatest game ever played for those lovers of amusement parks. Compared to theme park (from bullfrog) this game is heaven. Any game where you can crash roller coasters, drown people and still have a happy bright child friendly game is great! I love and reccomend ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON!
Rating: Summary: OMG! This game is soooo awesome! Review: Ifn you lovvvvvvve Roller Coasters, this is the game for you! Rating: Summary: WishYouCouldFullyCustomizeYourSimGames?NowThere'sRCT! Review: Wow! RollerCoaster Tycoon is definately the most ADDICTIVE game I've encountered in a looong time! RCT has excellent graphics and is very animated. Not only is every single guest (out of hundreds or even thousands!) walking around somewhere in your park for you to find, each individual has their own mood, thoughts, purchases...and entire BRAIN for you to probe. And the state of this brain reflects everything from their choice rides to the way they walk! Speaking of rides, they're totally spiffy! You get to choose where they go, what they do, admission price, design, and even colors! Actual amusement parks have used RCT to design REAL coasters now built around the WORLD! Just remember to test all of your custom-built coasters--the crash explosions may be intense and wild to watch, but they completely ruin that ride's reputation. Once I started playing RCT, I couldn't get off...that was 6 months ago, and I'm still an addict! It really puts your creativity and management skills to the test. This is a great choice for any fans of the SimGames, only TONS better. If you're still not convinced you just HAVE to have RCT, the website also features an online demo to play!
Rating: Summary: Incredibly addictive, a great game. Review: This is quite a fascinating game. A great amount of thought and detail went into this game, from the fact that you can build your own rides (or choose from many premade coasters, thrill rides and gentle ones) to the fact that you've got to maintain a fleet of handymen to keep sweeping up the vomit! You proceed through scenarios with a goal set for you to complete, the terrain is interesting and you'd be amazed at how quickly time flies when you're playing! Excellent work! You can also download new rides all the time from their website and visit the Ride Exchange if you don't like to build your own, there are limitless realistic rides to be built and there's a huge following that this game has picked up... and for good reason!
Rating: Summary: Awsome, Wonderful, and Fantastic!!!!!!!!! Review: The game never gets old with it's many rides and many levels Atari did a great job putting this game together. Creating a prk is a blast. I love it. There is unlimited rides, Rollercoasters, and food accommodations. It teaches you the value of a dollar. Very good teaching skills. Once you start it you won't stop with it's wonderful game play. Wonderful Graphics. Wonderful story line this game is the best of the best. Awesome, Wonderful, Fantastic. Brovo!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Really good! Review: I can't say five stars, but the game is excellent. Yes, the 2-D Limited graphics are dated and primitive. The tree-removal is costly and boring. That aside, the game is fun and fairly easy. I was doing pretty well after a few weeks of attempts at the first scenario.A flaw is that their are only a few ride choices in Thrill Rides and they are generally underrated for intensity. The Pirate Ship is probably a High Intensity. Another flaw is the lack of more realistic rides, like a Giant Slide, or Funhouse --- things you see at the carnival. Also, the rollercoasters are primative. For some reason, the already-built ones in some of the parks are super intense yet say "High Excitment, Very High Intensity, Medium Nausea" than if you duplicate it, you get Low, ULTRA EXTREME, Very High" for the same thing! I'd call it cheating. But the game is so excellent I can't be mean to it. The ease is incredibly, the scenarios actually achievable (but from here to the expansions and on they become totally impossible) and the pace relaxed. I do think a park year should be Jan-Dec so you can have Holiday things. Oops! They don't have holiday rides/themes/shows -- flaw.
Rating: Summary: Tycoon of Tycoons Review: This is a great game to kick off the Roller Coaster Tycoon series and I will recommend it to anyone who likes Roller Coasters and strategy/tycoon games. You manage most all aspects of an amusement park and you get to see what Roller Coaster designers have to face when building new rides. This game really kept me thinking and playing it for a while. The layout of controls, the interface and graphics are fairly simplistic so it is easy to get used to and will not run too slow on most computers. If you already have Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 or 3, you may still want to think about purchasing this major hit. You will then get to see the major changes for yourself and get to decide wether you like any one in particular better.
Rating: Summary: Yay! Review: I never thought this game looked very good until I played it at a friend's house. I went out and bought it for the very low price of under ten bucks at Wal*Mart the next day.
It is so much fun! You can build and design your own rides, or buy ones that have already been built. Food stands, bathrooms, and souvenier stands can also be purchased as well as scenery items. Detailed information is available about all of your customers, from their feelings to how much money they're willing to spend at your park. You have a certain goal to reach when you create a theme park, and when you reach it, your name will be posted under the location name. And there are many new locations to unlock as well. You can hire handymen to clean up trash and puke, mechanics to fix and check rides, security guards to make sure no one breaks anything, and entertainers that can be dressed in a panda, tiger, or elephant suit. Also, some advice: Don't let your park entrance fee be "FREE" (If you start at $1.00, people will keep saying that your entrance fee is cheap, and you get to raise it! I got as high as $20 once!)
Overall, if you like The Sims, or Zoo Tycoon, you will enjoy this game! It is addicting, and is now a favorite of mine! I'm so happy I gave it a chance.
