Rating: Summary: Even an old man loves this game Review: I've been a gamer for years, but lately I've found that a lot of new games are just retread of old games with better graphics and sound. Or they simply just suck -- e.g. Mech Warrior 3. Roller Coaster Tycoon (RCT) certainly isn't that. I found the game, addictive, exciting and fun. The first time I booted it up I was planning on just figuring it out for a couple of minutes. To my surprise, I played for about 4 hours straight. I was so immersed that I completely lost track of time and space.I think that the most interesting part of the game is how deep the game is and how many different variable one has to keep track of while building and running an amusement park. Also, I found it very challanging as I tried to update my park from kiddie rides to the more exciting rollercoasters. Finally, you can monitor the thoughts and actions of your customers and modify your park to respond to their needs. This game is a blast!
Rating: Summary: Roller Coaster Tycoon a good bet. Review: Roller Coaster Tycoon is a lot of fun but it should not be given to anyone under 12, the game is lots of fun if your 12 or older, in fact you might even lose a little sleep playing the game because it's so much fun. The game is some what complex and thats why I think that it's to tuff for really young kids. The reason why it is complex is because you have to watch your staff in the park and watch your cash flow. For everyone 12 or older this game is a very sure bet.
Rating: Summary: I was hooked after one game! Review: I'm not really one who likes to play a lot of computer games, but when my husband brought this one home I had to give it a try. It is a blast! You can start off with ready made rides, and build your own coasters around the park. As you advance, you are given bigger and better rides and options. I was surprised at its ability to make me love it - I was hooked after the first game. I'm going to get the expansion pack soon!
Rating: Summary: So Addicting It Should Be Illegal! Review: Have you ever gone to an amusement park and thought you could make the rides just a little bit better, at least in your imagination? Well folks, here's your chance. Especially if you have any love for rollercoasters. A little warning though, when I first bought the game I stayed up until 5:00 in the morning playing it so if you buy this game for your kids you might want to monitor how long they play. You are set up as the budding Theme Park tycoon and your initial goal is to attract a certain amount of guests to your park with a certain level of customer satisfaction (your park is rated by each guest and the computer keeps track). If you start from scratch (the funnest way to play, hands down) you will get frustrated. Your rollercoasters that you design most likely won't work exactly as you plan, but it's ok you can fix it. If you are looking for a family oriented, non-stop fun PC game look no further than Roller Coaster Tycoon!
Rating: Summary: This one's the best Review: I don't really like computer games, but I love this one. It's diverse enough that my nine year old can play easily and I can play with some more complicated features. It's fun to achieve the goals of one park and move on to the next. This game has a number of different features that always keeps it interesting, even when the people turn green and throw up after a coaster ride. I'm hooked!
Rating: Summary: Consistently Entertaining! Review: Control rides, walkways, prices, food stands, maintenance staff, decor, vandalism, EVERYTHING! This is a game that doesn't get boring- Hours can pass and you won't even notice. Once you get the hang of the original, get the Expansion Pack for some extra coasters, scenarios, and stands. Warning to college students: If you plan to graduate on time, don't get this game! You'll never study again!
Rating: Summary: The Best Amusement Park for Your Money Review: For the price you couldn't have as much fun at a real amusement park. This game has enough elements to keep you playing for a long time. The only thing I wish for is a scenerio editor. If you complete all scenerios you get to do the mega park which is about the same as though you were building your own scenerio. Now I can't wait for Christmas so I will have the add on pack.
Rating: Summary: I can't disagree, Review: this game is incredibly awesome, cool, addictive, detailed, and fun for all ages. This game would be even better if it quit giving me an access violation window and booting me from the game.
Rating: Summary: Addictive Personalities Do Not Apply Review: This game is a steal at any price. Just make sure you have a comfy chair and no prior engagements. Great game for all ages. Make sure to check out the add-ons after you've squandered a weeks worth of hours on this great game.
