Rating: Summary: Pretty Neat !!! Review: This is a pretty cool game. The graphics are great and I think the programmers programmed it superior. You can build snack shops, water, rollercoaters, paths, and can raise or lower the land. Snow Resort tycoon probably is better but that's okay. Although it's addicting and time-consuming,this is still wonderful. Of all the other tycoon games this is the most popular. If one has time, they should buy it.
Rating: Summary: Not bad, but lacks something Review: I bought Roller Coaster Tycoon because it looked interesting, and the option to build roller coasters reminded me of Disney's old game Coaster. I played it for a while and bought the expansion pack, but it just didn't hold my attention. When I bought it, it looked like a game for all ages, but after playing it for a while it really seemed like it was designed for kids, not adults. The whole nausea feature with guests vomiting all over really got old after a while. Also, the graphics aren't bad, but there's no variation in the guests, they all look like bald men, even the staff. Once you've played all the scenarios, there's no more, and there isn't a "create your own" and just play option, everything has a scenario. You can keep playing them after you've won them, but you're limited to the land and the setup of that scenario. The speed is also an issue, you either have go or stop, there's no way to slow down or speed up time, and most scenarios require a time limit, like a year or three years. Unfortunately, if you've won the scenario at the end of year one of a three year scenario, you're stuck. You have to wait out the next two years, and there's no way to set the game at a top speed so it will end faster. The opposite is true as well, if you're almost out of time and haven't met the conditions, you can't slow down the game to help you plan things out. On the good side, the general graphics look nice, you can figured the game out pretty well on your own, and there's a nice variety of roller coasters. You have plenty of things to play with in the game, but there's just enough to it that I wouldn't consider it a fantastic game.
Rating: Summary: Roller Coaster Maniacs Only Review: This is the best roller coaster game but for more fun you should try roller coaster tycoon loopy landscapes.
Rating: Summary: One Great Game Review: Roller Coaster Tycoon is one of the BEST games to come out on PC. You can build gentle rides, water rides, shops and stalls, and roller coasters (Duh). You start with very little. Only six parks to choose from and one park is already successful. But as the game goes on, there's more to work with. When you build a park, the game gives you an objective and a certain amount of time to complete that objective. If you complete it, your reward is another park to build with. This game is so great because you can do anything you want in your park and you can be so creative when building rides.
Rating: Summary: This is the best!!! Review: It took me a little time to get the hang of building a park, but once I got into it I would be up for hours trying to finish. The expansion packs make the game even better.
Rating: Summary: Great for all kinds of gamers Review: This game is great. It has the same basis as Sim City only you control all aspects of an amusement park. You are given objectives for each level that you must complete in order to unlock more levels. Once you have completed all the levels, you gain the right to build your own amusement park with no restrictions. The best part of this game is the fact that you build the rides individually. You can create your version of the best roller coaster ever, and see if the guests like it as much as you do. This game does get repetitive after a while though, as every Sim City type game does.
Rating: Summary: EXTREMELY disappointing!!!!!!!!! Review: There are sevrel things in this game that make it stupid, annoying, and weird. PEOPLE GET KILLED! This is one of the main reasons I didn't like the game. Perhaps a little too life-like. Then, EVERYONE in your park has a certain race and gender: All boys that have black hair. You can use credit-card like money tools (fund) to get you in DEBT! An annoying thing is that it is supposed to be that some people like gentle rides and some like intense rides. You think it's true, but it's NOT! In every amusment park I build, I build a Ferris Wheel, and then within a few months, everyone in the whole park is programed NOT to go on it! The same goes for EVERY ride! This proves that it is all programing, and not whether people think it is intese or not. Finally, the rides are ALWAYS breaking down almost EVERY minute of gameplay! You hire machanics, and sometimes they don't even listen to you, and don't fix the rides. Then there's a chance the ride crashes and people get killed! I recommend not buying it for those who don't like the stuff listed. If I had a choice, I'd give this game negitave 1 stars.
Rating: Summary: ur not gunna wanna stop playin it Review: great game full of fun, i wish it worked on Macs
Rating: Summary: Roller Coaster Tycoon Rocks! Review: If anyone asked me what my favorite simulation is, I'd have to say Roller Coaster Tycoon. In Roller Coaster Tycoon, the graphics and reality of it all is great. You get different scenarios by conquoring other ones, and the researchers develope rides at a resonable pace. If you don'y believe me.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME GAME! Review: Ooooh, I love this game! It totally rocks... it's challenging and fun and satisfies my desire for details - of which there are plenty. Obviously, you get to build your own theme park, but it's so much more than that. From patrons throwing up on the sidewalk after getting of a crazy ride, to the little maintenance guys who come along and clean it up of their own accord, to the little trash cans that get over-full, and the kids that giggle and jump up and down after they get off of a particularly fun ride, this game is very entertaining. There are water rides, slides, kiddie-rides, trams, bumper cars, and of course lots of roller coasters (pre-built, or personally designed)... the whole she-bang -- you can even build your roller coasters underground! Definitely addictive, and definitely worth the investment - especially if you like sim games.
