Summary: A Step up from Age of Empires I
Review: When playing Age of Empires II, I've found that the game contains many improvements from Age of Empires I, especially when it comes to game play.

The improvements on game play would be the ability to select multiple units at once while in Age of Empires I, players had to live with selecting one unit at a time. Selection of combat positions would be another game play improvement. For example, one has the ability to select all of their infantry and archers, and line them up in different formations.

Other improvements would be new map types, buildings, and new historical facts documentation on each civilization in the game.

The graphics, however brilliant, do not match up well with Age of Empires I, which is why I am giving the game four stars instead of five.

Summary: An excellent game
Review: This game is a great buy. I started off buying Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings, and then bought the expansion pack. You have a variety of different types of people to choose from, for example, the Britons, Persians, etc. You get to build a community and plan your next move, how and when you attack the enemy! It is set in the medieval time period and it is a very addicting game. You just can't go wrong.

Summary: Awesome game, and expantion!
Review: Ok, I bought Age of Empires just because I was board with my other sim type games. It hooked me, I play it all the time I love this game the interface is simple to use, great tutorial teaches you everything you need to know to play quickly!

This expantion is great it adds new items to the game and features. You can queue up activities like seeding a farm. Peasents just don't stand there after they finish a task such as mining or chopping wood they keep going. by removing some of the micro-managing you had to do with the orginal release you can destroy your opponet faster! I've cut almost 20 min. Off a standard game.

Summary: the best game ever.
Review: This game is amazing. My friends say it's great. I mean five new
civilizations. New buildings, new technology. This game is
the bomb. Most expansions aren't too good, but this one is great.
I would recommend it.

Summary: the age of empires 2
Review: Age of Empires the Conqueres is not only a great game, but it combines history with game play. it's a combo of history and battling and you can choose your civilization and scenerio. It's away to really get back at those people who get on your nerves while improving on your battling skills in the game also. It's a game to look into!!!!

Summary: Best Strategy Game Yet!
Review: Age of Empires II: The Conquerors is a massive improvement on AOEII.
To start with it features 5 new civs (Spanish, Huns, Koreans, Aztecs & Mayans), each with a unique unit (or 2) and a unique tech.
It also features new game types: Wonder Race & King of the Hill and I think there is another one which I do not usually use.
On top of that there are several new units (Helberdiers, Hussars and several others), new techs and adjusted stats for some units from AOEII.
It also features several new campaigns (Montezuma, Attila the Hun, El Cid and Battles of the Conquerors which features many individual Historic Battles such as Agincourt, Lepanto, Kyoto, Manzinkert and many others).
There are no changes in the gameplay from the original.
Obviously (as with all games) there are some draw backs. Some of you may have found that the game occasionally closes itself down for no apparent reason and I'm sorry to say that that glitch has not been fixed so it is best to save frequently (especially when using the scenario editor as the glitch mainly occurs whilst the editor is in use).
Speaking of the scenario editor I must mention some great new triggers that are now available.
It is now possible to change unit names and stats, although when changing the names of every unit of one type on the map the name changing trigger does get rather tedious as you will find yourself having to rename each unit individually, luckily though with stat changes you are able to rename all units of one type or indeed just all units!
All in all this game is the best strategy game I have ever played (better than Star Craft: Brood War, Red Alert II, the original AOE and AOEII and the list goes on and on and on... well you get the point!).

Rating: 5 stars

Summary: Age of Empires Conquerors Edition is Superb!
Review: Ensemble Studios and Microsoft came up with a winner with Age of Kings. They augmented this game with this, "Age of Conquerors", an add-on game to complete this great gaming series. They came up with a winner here with this one, with new features, four new civilizations, unique "technologies" to each civilization, etc. All of the "Age of..." games are real time strategy games, and all are very much critically acclaimed and award winning. I also have to admit, playing these games is a heck of a lot of fun, although they can be very time consuming, especially in my case. And, playing a game like "Age of Conquerors" never seems to get old, because there are literally thousands upon thousands of different combinations of scenarios, map types, civilizations, etc. to build and play upon, and to vary in game play. "Age of Conquerors" is played like the other "Age" games. One chooses a particular civilization to be, which means one can choose now from a whole list, from Japanese to The Franks, The Britons to Byzantines, The Mongols to the Aztecs, and the Huns to Teutons. Game play starts in the "Dark Age", and one can continue to advance to the "Feudal Age", the "Castle Age" and finally the "Imperial Age". The new features are great, such as the number pad controls. As a player on a team, for example, I like to play 4 against four on the A/I, that is myself and three computer players against 4 computer players, on hardest, random map, with about 75 units limited to each civilization. This is about all my computer can handle, in terms of the graphics. I can now command my teammates to "give me food", by pressing the number 3, or "attack an enemy now", by hitting number 31. This increased economic benefit can help a human player catch up to the fast A/I computer player, and help to offset that advantage it has. The new civilizations add a global attitude to the game, and it is fun to pit the Aztecs against the invading Spanish. I also like the new game play types, like Wonder Race or King of the Hill. The smart villagers are lots of fun too, as you can send a guy to build a lumber yard, and he builds it and starts chopping wood, in the last game he just built the lumber camp and stayed idle until made to do something else. The automatic farm replenishment is a great time saver in the game too, you just add wood to the grain mill, and when a farm is exhausted, the farmer automatically replenishes it, as opposed to in Age of Kings, when the farm was exhausted, the farmer just stood there doing nothing. And, since economic resources are the keys to success in this game, these features are great. I also love the music, and sound effects to this game. I also love the graphics of the game, they are simply superb.

All in all, "Age of Conquerors" is a fantastic game! It is completely addictive, tons of fun, and hours of amusement. It is challenging, fun, and quite devastating. It is also the "granddaddy of real time games" at present. Until Civilization III comes around, or "Age of Mythology", Ensembles next game, it will be the definitive real time strategy game. If you want a dynamically multifeatured real time strategy game to play with great graphics and cool music and sound, get this one!
