Summary: very very fun, good for a first try
Review: I have played many fps games, but one NEVER as strange as this. It was good ill admit, but one of the most terrible things was the ai (shown in other reviews). I mean, the reviewers were right the ai is horrible, you can use an ion cannon beacon on the hand of nod and the guard will stand there pickin' his nose while the place falls apart. A good point I must point out is the graphics, these were good, but could've been better. I like this game because it has the feel like your a real soldier in battle like in other CC's. Unlike a real one of those, you dont die in two hits because of a shotgun. another thing i love:buildings. These are full scale structures you can explore and destroy. You have an awsome selection of ways to blow it up, you can go for the terminal, place an ion cannon beacon, destroy the con. yard to make them unrepairable (the engineers can however), or just to wreak havoc upon it with a vehicle. The loading time I must say ... . Enough said on that. In the cut scenes, its like the first godzilla. Lock would say "WHAT DID U THINK YOU WERE DOING, HAVOC??!!!!" his mouth will go on and on and on. Overall I give this 4 and 1/2 stars. It was REALLY good considering a first try for westwood.I have no problem with the game play either

Summary: Great game!
Review: This game wasn't designed for Single Player. WestWood Studios and EA totally concentrated on the multiplay for this one. Thats what this game is all about--the multiplay. And with its ultimately streamlined, simple interface, even a 6-year-old can rocket to the top of the ladder (probably not, but you know what I mean).

Name another game where you can execute a 5 Flame Tank, 2 APC assault with your peeps. Can't think of any? Thats what I thought. There are so many different tactics and roles in multiplayer it is simply astounding. Will you be a sniper and cover your peeps as they charge the enemy base in their tanks? Will you play defense and patrol the base as a Technician (or any of the other 9 characters per side)? Or will you be the lone wolf and try to infiltrate the enemy base to plant the beacon on the pedestal in the barracks, ending the game in one move? The choice is up to you.

I give this game a 4 because the singleplayer simply [stunk]. Poor AI and somewhat dull story. Some of the levels were pretty fun though (Tomorrow's Technology Today is my personal favorite). And as many people have said, the graphics weren't exactly awe-inspiring. RTCW has the same system requirments and its graphics are 100x better--must the game engine Renegade was designed with. BUT remember: this game wasn't made for SP, it was made for MP!

Summary: Good for a first try at FPS
Review: First of all, let me say I have played all the C&C games (minus expansion packs) except Sole Survivor, and am a great C&C fan. Now, I know all the reviews seem to give Renegade bad ratings... why? For Westwood's first try at an FPS, I think it's a good try. Of course not everything could be right.

BAD POINTS

1. Story - Renegade's story is a little weak. It's basically the same kind of story we've seen in all those other FPS. Renegade, hotshot commando, old flame that's part of the enemy, secret operations, the whole lot. But as this IS and FPS, the story doesn't account for much.

2. Graphics - Graphics could have been improved. A little bit blocky, but they are ok. Nothing nice here, but nothing horrible either if you've played the C&C games.

3. AI - This is where the loss of a star comes in. The AI in this game is the worst I have ever seen... except perhaps in Tiberian Dawn. The AI will never pay attention to you unless they actually see you. You can walk right up to some of them, shoot a guy right next to them, and they will still stand with your back to you. Come on. When they do see you, all they do is charge right at you, in the line of fire. Kind of fun for a while, but gets annoying later.

GOOD POINTS

4. Multiplayer - Multiplayer C&C mode ROCKS! It feels a lot like you really are a soldier on the battlefield of a C&C skirmish/online game. Only con is you can't build buildings.

5. C&C Feel - This has got to be Renegade's biggest pro. The game feels like it was meant to feel, as if you have been put in the shoes of the six pixel high commando unit from the original C&C.

6. Buildings - The seamless transition from indoor to outdoor is awesome. You can just walk up to a building, watch the door open, and shoot at an AI in the building, then walk into the building and explore it. In singleplayer they are absolutely huge. My fav is the Hand of Nod, because it's so big and has such cool rooms. Only question is - do they normally have flamethrowers in the kitchen supplies?

NEUTRAL POINTS

7. Load Times - Well, load times are very slow. However, if you've ever seen a mission as large as the ones in Renegade with the interior of huge buildings also having to load at the same time, I think it's going to be about just as slow. Just look at it this way - as long as you don't die, you only have to wait for the load inbetween missions.

Summary: could have been a lot better
Review: i was really disappointed with c&c's newest release. Although i am not one of those fanatical C&C fans, i do love first person shooters (fps). The AI is the most horrible i've ever seen in a fps, and i've played a lot of games. The characters look like boxes, Havoc's personality is a cardboard cutout, the script and story line is hilariously bad, and Havoc's lines are corny. Most of all, both the single player and multiplayer are desperately below par. The single player was much too short, the bosses are too easy to kill, and the scenery is atrocious. The multiplayer is just as bad, since the base defences are much too difficult to bypass and you can only carry one weapon at a time. Westwood truly disappointed me with this game, i thought they were capable of a more thought out and prepared game. If you are going to spend [$$$] on a game, spend in on Max Payne or Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Unless you're a diehard C&C fan, this one probably isn't for you.

Summary: Wow this is bad!
Review: I cant believe how [bad] this game is! I was really disappointed in Westwood with this game. It doesnt flow at all. I have Geforce 4 card and a decent system but for some reason the play back on the in game movies is very choppy. Only game I own that does that. The AI is horrible, sound is below average and the choppyness of the movie editing is jaring. The enviorments are very sparse and lack a lot of detail. I love Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun was good too, but Westwood really did a bad job with this one. Im surprised on how it got this many good reviews on Amazon. If you like RTCW and Medal of Honor DONT BUY THIS GAME! Those games are WAY better. Ill play them over and over, but this one I wont even finish. I sell it or something. Its just that bad.

Summary: Wow. Best RTS I've ever played
Review: As I've said, this is simply THE BEST RTS of ALL TIME--that is, except for Yuri's Revenge :)

Summary: Pros and Cons
Review: Pros:

Their are several pros to this game. The engine itself is pretty good. If you played any of the other C&C games, you'll know exactly how to play this one. The game also doesn't have some of the problems that Tiberian Sun Possessed. In TS, the AI would just send a thousand sacrificial Engineers to your camp, you kill 999 of them, but one of them always made it through and took over your construction yard. RA2 has sacrificial engineers coming your way but they are balanced enough that they rarely ever make it through your front lines. The cinematics are great. Full Screen. What could be more fun then watching a terrorist with a bomb strapped to his chest and blow up a general.

Cons: These are my personal feelings. The game has a CD-key. I hate CD-Keys just because you can't just put the CD in a CD carry case and let it be. Also, the disk is protected by SafeDisc(like all new Westwood games.) It is pretty easy to get around if you know how. I'm not going to tell you how but it makes it an annoyance if you want to make a backup copy for archival purposes.

The game itself has little cons. It is just fun. It'll give you 20 hours or so of solid game play.

Summary: don't like the demo
Review: first of all, i'm a huge fan of the command & conquer games. i have every one of them (except this one).. red alert 2: yuri's revenge is one of my favorite games ever. anyhow, i downloaded the demo of renegade and i was so disappointed. it just does not compete with the good fps games.. get medal of honor: allied assault instead. actually, there are 1 level demos of renegade and mohaa..get them both and see the difference!!!!
