Rating: Summary: Game help and hints Review: at the start of this game chose stable manager then do not hire any staff or buy any horses. Build a clubhouse then you can board other peoples horses for money (this will build up your funds) once you have good enough funds you can start to buy horses and race them for money. Once this is done the game is a Lot more fun!!! (any more Questions or hints you need answers for e-mail me at girlhunter#220@yahoo.com)
Rating: Summary: A Horse Racing Management Simulator - Where Can This Go? Review: Be warned: this is not your typical "tycoon" or management game, nor is it for people who only have a passing interest in horse racing. It is very dry and in depth, but you can learn a lot of things if you are willing to give it a lot of time and effort. Did I mention most of the game takes place in a planner screen?Horse racing manager started out by surprising me - there were 3 modes of play. Betting, Racing and Stable. In Stable mode you are put in charge of managing every little nuance of the stable. In this mode you also get opportunities to bet at any races that come up as well as having the racing option. Whenever your horse is entered in a race, you have the choice of watching, going straight to the results, or racing the horse yourself. Of course the jockey you choose to sit on the horse, specifically their temperament (harsh, gentle, strict etc) has a lot to say. This is the only part of the game that has actual moving graphics. The learning curve for racing is fairly high, learning how to balance endurance and speed and positioning, as well as picking one of three things your jockey should focus on: Wind protection, whipping, and regaining energy to whip. Not to mention the days and weeks of training to help your horse have a greater chance to win. But just like real life, sometimes lady luck throws you for a spiral. A victory is never assured. To greater or lesser extents you can manage the training, breeding, gambling, racing and management parts of the game, but only through management methods. You pick out tasks and make decisions from your planner book. You never actually get to see your horse being fed or trained nor your employees performing any of their tasks. It's all done through numbers and directions. You can buy about 6 buildings on the building map, and 3 levels of each type. A pretty boring and basic map with little points of colour and shapes where different buildings are. The various buildings increase different things such as training time, horse nutrition, fame etc. Some buildings become available only after you've built others. What you can build is also dependent on what country and stable you purchased at the beginning (difficulty level, weather conditions, types of racing etc is determined by which site you choose), There is an amazing amount of detail that has gone into the information and numbers part of the game. This can actually get confusing and makes the learning curve even higher. The tutorial is basically one of the read and click variety which doesn't help out the difficulty. It is quite a simulator, but I am left with the feeling that it could have been more FUN somehow. The game is rather like looking at a horseracing magazine with the long lists of numbers and breeding etc, and the learning curve is high. Graphics are practically non-existent and the sound is mediocre. It is by no means a bad game, but be prepared for some seriously heavy management and lots of time to learn the game. A great idea, very dry implementation, but I hope to see more to come in this sub genre of simulators.

Rating: Summary: Give it a go Review: For those people that enjoy race horses and horse racing this is a great game. Yes it is hard to race the horses to start with but once you work it out it is challenging and great fun. The game starts off by building a bank account, then once you achive this, you then work hard on developing a top class race horse and hopfully winning a main event. A tip for those finding the jockey section hard work, get behind the leaders back before making your move. The grafics are fair but not great. And maybe being able to do more stable work would add more to the game. Once you work this game out you will play it for hours very enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: No Comparison. Review: I bugged my dad since June 22nd, tha last day of school. I wanted this game. I read previous reveiws and thought the gamers must have been awfully pleased, so I had to have this game. I got it. I thought the store was going to have loads of them 'cause nobody where I live is bezerk 'bout racing, but after I got mine, three left. Previous reveiws told of how hard the game is? After you get the hang of it, it's really easy to make a lot of money. The only downside s that it's measured in meters.. I'm an American and therefore don't know the metric system for anything, but I figured it out. The graphics are very realistic and the sounds make the game sound like you are ctually atop the horse and as the jockey or on the sidelines. Definately not a newbie's game-before this, you may want to start with online games to understand how racing works, or you'll not get a fame rating of 3.
Rating: Summary: A Fun yet Challenging Game Review: I got this game for Christmas from my Mom's friend. I think this is a great game. There are ways to accel at this game, and I've found a few of them. I've even unlocked a jockey for the multiplayer mode! I think this is a game worth buying for horse racing fans and horse lovers alike!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Game!!! Review: I just bought this and I must say that it was worth every penny of the 20 dollars spent. It is a great game that is simply a must for all horse lovers and racing fans alike! It had awesome graphics and was fairly easy, though appropriatley challenging to advance in. SIMPLY A MUST, GET IT!
Rating: Summary: Fun and Challenging Review: I just got this game in the mail today and i love it. I haven't played all of the options you can play yet. So far i've only been the jockey. Like some other reviews said, it is difficult at first to win races, but if you keep at it and learn to pace your horse you can win with no problem. At first, i kept coming in last or almost last and was getting frustrated but it was a challenge to try to win and now i can do it fairly easy. I'm having lots of fun with it. It's a fun game....I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: An OK game Review: I just picked up this game and found it fairly fun. It was easy to install on windows XP, which was a big plus in my book. The graphics are cool. Yet, I found it hard to win a race, though I may not know yet because I just got it.I don't think the euro style was that big a deal. Another thing about this game was that, as you come off the far turn and into the stretch, the game sometimes gets choppy. You can fix this by going to the main menu and making the resolution lower. Though the game was fun, I have found it a little hard to advance in it, though I would reccomend it too other horse lovers.
Rating: Summary: Final Stretch: Horse Racing Sim Review: I personally think that this game is very fun. I love the graphics and all the details. The races could be a little more exciting, but I highly reccomend this game for any horse racing fan.
