Rating: Summary: Too many bugs Review: After 4 patches, I still can't play online, even though all my other online games work (including Blizzard's and even Westwood's previous ones). The EA message board is flaming with similar (and other) problems. Avoid this one.More details re problem: I can connect to the EA server, download patches, and see games. I can even join games. But the games never start. It seems the game has trouble with NAT and firewalls, but it is worse than that, as I can't connect even if I try a direct connection through my cable modem, or even if I use my dial-up modem!
Rating: Summary: what for a game :(( Review: Sorry, this was the worst game i played in the last time. In comparison with other titles Generals get the worst review of all. I am very disappointed about what they made out of this brand. The balancing is awful, America is every time the best choice. And people, what do say about great gfx? Are you blind? Just watch the water in the rivers. Just moving polygons. Not to mention about the missing story, strange mission goals and bad pathing. The best thing of the whole game are the remarks of the units. For this and the hope i got while playing that the game will be better by the missions i assign two stars. I was a big fan and played every title. Not more. Just installed the good old red alert. Wouldn't buy it with this experience.
Rating: Summary: What happened to Westwood? Review: I've been playing C&C games since the very first one. Even before that, Dune 2. Renegade and Generals both [stink]. C&C:Yuri's Revenge is one of my all time favorite games ever. WW is ruined. Give this game a 1 star to protest. We want the old WW back.
Rating: Summary: Wow, I didnt expect it to be this good! Review: Let me start from the beginning. I am a huge strategy game fan. I have played dozens of strategy games before C&C Generals. Examples would be Myth I, II, III, Warcraft I, II, III, C&C series, Starcraft, and other games I no longer remember. Out of all the games that I have played, I would place Command and Conquer Generals among the top. I have to warn you however, it takes time to get into CCG. When I started the game I was very disappointed. You have to play Generals for a while to appreciate its complexity and intricacy. Overall, the biggest joy of this game comes from the multiplayer experience. Try playing someone as good as you and you will know what I mean. There is so much micromanagment and so many tactist that I can hardly break away from the action. Before playing C&C Generals I was hooked on Warcraft III. I played WIII almost everyday, but when I tried Generals I lost interest in WIII almost in a second. I recommend everyone who has C&C Generals to try and play online. It is one of the most exciting games to be played against human opponents.
Rating: Summary: Multiplayer and skirmish fun, but [not good for] single player Review: I had big expectations for this game. The ads made it look like a revolution in graphics (It is over it's predecessor, but not over the competition), so when I started it up I immediately felt disappointed and started looking for everything wrong with it. I began playing one of the campaigns and beat it. It was okay, but I was still finding myself complaining about it a lot. After being dissatisfied with the campaign I started playing skirmishes and then multiplayer (This is the real reason these games are made). I found that this was a balanced game with three unique teams to choose from. Every team has good units that can oppose any other team. There are a variety of ways to play the game. I find myself digging in at my base and saving money for the big weapons like the nuclear missle. So after actively looking for everything wrong with this game I ended up addicted to it. Buy this game and team up with a friend against six brutal computer players. That is a challenge I haven't met' yet.
Rating: Summary: Hands down, the worst game in the C&C series. Review: I've played every C&C game since the original, and this is by far the worst. Not being able to escape past the videos is annoying. The AI, which has generally been very good in C&C games is aweful. The single player campaigns are very short, and the overall game controls are poorly designed and implemented. Not worth the price...wait 6 months and buy it out of the bargain bin.
Rating: Summary: This game is lame Review: ... This game is cheesy beyond description, and I don't like that in video games. This is the first Command and Conquer game I've owned .... and I did not find it fun at all. It wasn't funny, violent, or amazing like many say. On top of that, the graphics are some of the worst I've ever seen. ....
Rating: Summary: Not only the best game in the word Review: This game kicks major.... for lack of a better word BOOTY! The graphics are... sweet, and the gameplay is a revoulutionary eye-opener for the neo-gamer.
Rating: Summary: The next Tiberian Sun Review: C&C Generals is a semi-fun game, but unfortunatley it is riddled with bugs, many game lock-ups, and crash-to-desktop problems detract from the quality of the game. If you were a fan of the previous Command and Conquer games, then this game is NOT for you. Much of the Command and Conquer feel of the game has been ripped out. The plays more like the flop-title "Real War." The graphics are interesting, but are very cartoon-ish. The game has a lot of potential, and we may see more interesting titles develop via expansion, or a sequel, but at this point, the game does not deserve the Command & Conquer title.
Rating: Summary: best ever Review: Been playing c&c games since #1 and this is best ever.
