Summary: Good Game with Technical Shortcomings
Review: This game is a good attempt to capture the feel of a Law & Order episode. The story unfolds at a reasonable pace if you are very thorough, but can quickly become frustrating if you overlook an important detail. The game seems to be somewhat linear--though you can vary the order of witness interviews and area searches the same sequence of clues must be discovered in order to progress. One disappointment is that the game consists of only one case, limiting play time to a couple hours tops. For $25 we expected a bit more...perhaps downloadable expansions?

We experienced several technical difficulties. Two patches available were required before the game would display properly. These files were pretty large--6MB and 7.5 MB zipped! On Windows XP the game will not play correctly unless you have applied Service Pack 1. The vendor recommends setting the graphics to "fast" mode within in the game. This means that evidence that you have to comb 3D crime scenes for appears blurry and is more easily overlooked. Follow these guidelines and the game is playable, but occasional lock-ups occur. Once out of every 15 plays or so the game crashed altogether.

Overall, a good idea that could have been implemented tighter.

Summary: Challenging and Intelligent
Review: This game is a nice change of pace for someone who is used to blowing stuff up in computer games. It is well-produced, well thought out and generally a pleasure to play. I almost never do this, but I've gone out and bought copies as gifts. I highly recommend it.

Summary: One of the worst games I've ever played
Review: This game is awful. First of all, the requirements to run the game are ridiculous. Even after I got it working, it still crashes every once in a while and a reboot is necessary. As for the game itself, the plot is lame, the graphics are substandard, and I find it very frustrating that if you have to drop a piece of evidence because your case file is full, and later on you discover you needed it, you have to start over from a saved game where you still had that evidence. Also, it's almost a requirement to use the efficiency setting because you will never finish on time otherwise, even if you know exactly what you need. I got so sick of replaying the first half of the game over and over...and over again, to get the right evidence that I refuse to play the second half of it. I hate everything about this game.

Summary: Buyer Beware
Review: This game is so frustrating to run that I had to return it.After checking with Legacy's own website, my computer support tech, and the video card mfr., turning off my virus protection, and turning off anything else I could think of, the game still runs so slowly I'd be better off reading a book while it grinds to the next scene. Further, the instructions are very scanty and downright unhelpful in many instances. This is a good game to avoid unless technical problems are what you really enjoy playing!

Summary: Hours of Fun
Review: When I bought this game, I didn't think I would have as much fun playing it as I do. I'll admit it I'm hooked!
The game is just like television show complete with the actors voice overs for the characters.
The story starts out as you go to the scene. You piece together evidence from the scene, sending items to the crime lab to be analyzed and items for research, etc.
Time elaspes and you interview key suspects and witnesses to the crime.
You gather the evidence and have it sent to the crime and research labs. After time you put together who is the suspect based on the evidence.
This game is hours of fun. I agree with the above poster to go to the main game site for this game once you purchase it. And if you are considering it head there too because they have a demo of the game right on the site that you can play and try out before you buy.
This game is a must have if you are into mystery solving and like CSI type games.
Remember to always analyze every scene check behind objects for other things and you too will find yourself stuck at your computer trying to figure out whodunit.

Summary: Great game for L&O fans
Review: Wow! I love this game. If you are a L&O fan (and who isn't) you won't be able to stop playing. The game is very similar to the show -- you find a dead body and spend the first half trying to identify a suspect with Det. Lennie Briscoe as your partner (real voice of Jerry Orbach). Then you spend the next half of the game as an Assistant D.A. with Serena Southerlyn (voice of Elisabeth Rohm) trying your case in court. Lots of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. And if you don't find a suspect in time, Lt. Van Buren (voice of S. Epatha Merkerson) will take the case away from you. I still haven't won a conviction yet, but I'm getting close!
