Rating: Summary: Best One Yet Review: Yuri's Revenge is one of the best expansion pack I've ever purchased. On Red Alert 2, the original game, I play multiplayer a lot. With Yuri's Revenge, multiplayer is a ton more exciting. There are new units asnd structures you can use defeat other players. If you're not able to beat the co-op missoins you can go on-line and download trainers. Overall I think this game is the game to buy.
Rating: Summary: This sounds like a really good game Review: From what I've read, this game sounds similar to Battlezone2. You go around in whatever veichal and blow stuff up while at the same time commanding your army. Battlezone2 is one of the best games ever(...) so if this game is anything like BZ2, I'd glady pay 3 times the price they list.
Rating: Summary: Less RA2 more TIberian Sun Review: I just bought the game a few days ago and I enjoy having new missions and what not. The major issue i have with this expansion is that it reminds me of the infamous Tiberian Sun. C&C games are always good when Westwood does not go over board with such exotic technology such as the Yuri "disk" which look like flying saucers. RA2 is an excellent game...but if you didnt like Tiberian Sun then you may want to reconsider purchasing Yuri's Revenge.
Rating: Summary: Too many problems!!! Review: The actual game is ok, but it not worth the wait to play the game. Just to get to the main menu takes over 10 minutes, and then each mission takes anywhere from 5-20 minutes to load. Plus when you finally get to play, you are constantly kicked out the game to due "irregular internal errors." I know it's not my computer because I'm not the only one with these problems, and my computer exceeds all the requirments, and plays all other games great. Westwoods website blames the problems on a cd burner or other cd drive. I followed all their suggestions to remedy the many problems, and the game does not work any better. This game is just a waste of money, since all it will do is sit and load for 20 minutes and then get an error or lock up.
Rating: Summary: The game that Command & Conquer 2 should have been. Review: Red Alert has always paved the way for technology (on the game engine side), with the original Red Alert making the leap into SVGA. Red Alert 2 features a truely enhanced 2D engine with huge structures. You finally get to fight on US soil (none of the previous C&C engines could have done this justice like the Red Alert 2 engine does). Gameplay is more back to basic, User Interface has been revamped for the first time in the series. This doesn't feel like a sequel. If you've ever enjoyed C&C, buy this now.
Rating: Summary: So-So Add on. Review: I played this game already. The original Red Alert 2 was better since the campaigns were much longer. I was also suprised there was not a Yuri campaign. You are only able to play Yuri in multiplayer or skirmish. I would expect expansions to be more difficult. The only reason I gave it three stars was because the story behind Yuri's Revenge was very Humorous. In other words how Yuri ends up at the end of each campaign. Some new units were interesting as well. I took off 2 stars since it was easy even on difficulty of high. It took me only 3 days to complete all the single player missions.
Rating: Summary: Quite frankly, awe inspiring Review: Some of you out there who love playing Red Alert 2 will remember one of the most fun, if expensive, tactics there was: the Yuri/Apoc crawl. Congratulations, Yuri now has his own side, costs half as much, there's an upgraded version that MCs buildings, and there are several esoteric new units to throw in. Allied Robot Tanks are immune to Yuri's MC-ing tricks, but Yuri's Gatling tanks can rip them apart. Soviets have a new mobile artillery unit, (Seige Chopper, watch out for the AA) have a new hero, Boris.... WELL WHY ARE YOU STILL READING! BUY IT ALREADY!
Rating: Summary: If you enjoy RA2 then buy this now!!! Review: Unlike some of the other reviewers who are speculating on the quality of this expansion I am speaking from experience. I just purchased it and can't over emphasize how much it improves RA2. Yuri's Revenge brings a whole new faction to the Red Alert universe. Yuri's army is very well balanced with the other two warring sides boasting a plethora of mind control and disruption tactics. Don't worry about the original sides, the Allies have a new battle fortress and robot tanks and the Soviets have siege choppers and a commando named Boris to deal with him. Unfortunately his army is not selectable in the single player campaigns, which contains 7 new missions each for both the Soviets and Allied forces. But who cares, the multiplayer is where it is at and Yuris side is definately capable. Speaking of multiplayer there is a 10 mission cooperative campaign playable online (I haven't played this portion of the game yet though). If you don't play online (cmon give it a try losing is a way to learn to play) then owning Yuri's Revenge is not a necessity. But if you do or are thinking about it then get this now.
Rating: Summary: cool Review: it is fun because of all the knew tec. and the differnt knew men that they have in this command and conquer 2: Yuri's Revenge.
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest expansion packs in recent memory... Review: I recieved my copy several days ago, and let me tell you now: this game will NOT disappoint. With the exception of AOE2: The Conquerers, this is the best expansion pack for any PC game to come out in recent memory. Even with the addition of a third playable faction (the Yuri side), the game remains very well balanced--second only to Starcraft. Graphics and sound are much like RA2's: they get the job done well, but don't expect to be knocked out of your seat by them. The cutscenes and the storyline of this game (and RA2) are not designed for realism or drama. They're simply fun. A wonder so many people simply don't understand. The addition of a Yuri side adds to the hectic pace of RA2, true. For many people, that's a great improvement over the other RTS games on the market. If you didn't like the pace of RA2, you're probably not going to enjoy this expansion pack. If you liked RA2 at all, you should buy this now. Stop reading reviews. Press the One-Click button if its enabled. You'll thank me.
