Rating: Summary: Unbalanced and No Fun Review: I have played this game exactly four times. Three against the computer and one online. The computer AI cheats, literally - read the forums on this game - many people have investigated and determined that the computer builds up resources and advances much faster than the human player is allowed to. This amounts to a game where you build your civ for a while, then the computer troops come in and wipe you out before you've even had a chance to accomplish anything. No fun.I decided to try the online play since playing vs. the computer was so unenjoyable. I found snotty ultra-skilled players that wiped me out in under five minutes - again no fun. These people were not even nice - I asked them for tips on how to play and they just sent back nasty messages. So - this game is a total bust. The gameplay is so unbalanced that the player can never get into it in any detail. You just start playing defensively right away and then lose. I regret buying this title.
Rating: Summary: this is awesome Review: This is the best RTS by far.It is easy to control, has good gaphics, and only has a few minor setbacks. It's not to hard,if you think it is it's probably just you.
Rating: Summary: Greatest RTS ever! Review: This is the greatest RTS ever, beyond any doubt. And I have read the user comments, and I'll say I havn't noticed 1 valid complaint. Its either by people with too slow machines or people who have played it once and don't even understand what different elements do. I would say though that this game wont apeal to everyone, but if you have ever been an RTS fan, of any of the great RTS's before empire earth you will definately enjoy empire earth. It is much more difficult to master. Also it is a much more complicated game, both in game play and graphics. It is definately a cutting edge game, and requires, in my opinion, more than the minimum requirements on the box. I wouldn't even touch it without a 600 MHZ cpu atleast, with 128 megs ram minimum. If you don't have a system of atleast this ability I think you are in to experience what so many people are calling "bugs". If you are an RTS fan I don't think it will take long for you to agree, after playing this game, that a 4 star rating is one star less than it deserves. If you have an addictive personality beware playing this game!!! Computers wont just lie down and take the punishment. The campaigns can be challenging. And in Multiplayer the strategies are as diverse as the individual and the game itself can be tailored to span different sets of epochs or play a single epoch for your favorite age, starting resources can be changed, different maps, and different sizes of maps. In the end the multiplayer games have almost limitless possibility. This game is definately Seirra and Stainless Steels master peice and will take a long time before anything matches it! I bet the makers of AoE have nervous breakdowns everytime they hear EE mentioned. Good luck and Good Gaming
Rating: Summary: The best single game in 500,000 years of human existence Review: This is the ultimate RTS, and by far the greatest game ever. I doubt you could spend your money on a better game. Through multiplayer games, singleplayer games, campaings and custom scenerios Empire Earth sets the standards for all RTS's to come.
Rating: Summary: Best RTS I've Played Review: Empire Earth is easily the best RTS game (and overall game) I've ever played. It's easy to learn, the graphics are high quality, and you need to work quickly to make sure you're not taken out of the game early. The pre-loaded scenarios are great, but after completing those, playing a random scenario is the way to go. Choose your starting and ending epoch, terrain type, and number of opponents. I bought this eight months ago and continue to play it frequently. This game will not disappoint!
Rating: Summary: Not bad, gets old after awhile Review: Like anyone else, I looked at the back of the box and was stunned by the graphics. All-n-all, this game does has its perks, but to me the game goes way too quick and changes civilizations way too soon. I know you can adjust the settings and all, but it just seems that the computer will be all over you if you decide to upgrade your fighters, buildings and what not. A little too complex if you'd ask me. What disappointed me the most was the fact that your character-fighters could be upgraded, with better armor or weapons. Sounds good, but this takes a lot of time away and you must remember to do so. It's just like Warcraft, Comand and Conquer, and Age of Empires. I guess if you like these types of games and can play them without getting too bored too quick, it could be a good buy. I'm just glad it was given to me as a gift and not from my pocket. What a girlfriend I have!
Rating: Summary: The very BEST RTS game played so far Review: Empire Earth is an unparalelled RTS game... I'd always thought Age of Kings was superb but I hadn't known EE. The idea of rising a Civilization from the stone age to the digital era is astonishing and allows you play through out all available eras with their own peculiarities. Graphics are excelent and you can zoom in to view personal details such as outfit of troops or tiles of building roof. You can customize your own civilization or play default Civs such as Ancient Greeks, Babilonians or Germans... I've spent the whole past weekend playing it over and over again. It's 100% addictive... If you loved AOK you'd adore Empire Earth. Guaranteed
Rating: Summary: Empire Earth: Much Better than Age of Empires! Review: When I first got EE (Empire Earth) I thought it was just like Age of Empires. Oh, no it wasn't! Age of Empires graphics, compared to EE's, stink. List of great things in EE: 1) Graphics 2) Load Times, Save Times 3) 14 Epochs 4) Multiplayer 5) Control of your Civ 6) The box the came comes in can be recycled! (lol)
Rating: Summary: Good but Difficult!!! Review: I love this kind of games, and this is like Age of Empire, but more difficult. I recomend this game for develope estrategies and have fun for a few hours.
Rating: Summary: excellent strategy game Review: this is, simply put, one of the best strategy games i have ever played. before this one, i was a big fan of sid meier's "alpha centari," but i don't like the turn-based format. unlike many other strategy games, you can go all out against one or more opponents, be they computer or human, and battle them from any number of different time periods. personally, i like starting in prehistoric, and fighting all the way through to the "nano age." furthermore, you can build land, sea and air units and pummel oppenents from 3 different points. startegy should be employed to win quickly, but most will find that some enemies can easily be overwhelmed. the computer controlled oppenents range from weak, to pretty tough and can usually put up a good fight. if you are more into the idea of missions, this game will not let you down. however, be warned that the campaigns are not easy. this is the only serious drawback to the game, in my opinon. if those bore you, you can easily make and edit your own campaign, if you want to take on france as england, pummel some nazi's or commies, or just to torment the enemy by starting yourself off at the most advanced technological stage and putting him in the prehistoric era. you can select more than 10 different factions (i don't know exactly how many, but i would venture to guess about 15 or so), each with its own strengths and weaknesses. however, the campaign editor does take some practice to use, but the manual clears it up pretty well. i easily play this game in 5 hour stretches and never get tired of playing. it hasn't bored me yet and i've had it for about 6 months. i highly recommend this game to all of you who are sick of turn-based startegy and for anyone who wants to play a great strategy game. be warned though, it may take a while before you win, even on the easy difficulty level.
