Summary: Awesome Classic Game
Review: This game is an awesome game and very addictive. The combat is fun and it really gives you the feeling of controling your own empire. You build your ships, colonies and get to name your ships and Colonies. It's a lot of fun because it puts you in control. I love this game as it lets me fulfil my space fantasies.

Summary: A Cult Classic!
Review: Considered by many to be one of the best games of all time, MOO2 has an extensive cult following in many gaming circles. While the multiplayer option should be considered cumbersome at best, it still carries servers on many gaming networks, and you can almost always find two or three folks to play. I would personally suggest a null-modem cable for head-to-head battles via laptop.

I have personally spent more hours playing this game than all of Blizzard, Bungee, and Microsoft titles combined (which is quite a feat). Look forward to MOO3, which is scheduled for release early 2002 by Quicksilver Software, and promises to uphold the high standards of this series.

Summary: Great Game 4 the Strategy-genre lovers and others as well!
Review: When I first got Master of Orion 2 , out of the box and into my computer , (Which at sometimes can be slow) I had a very hard time to install it and for a week or two it was sitting there on my desk waiting for me to give it another shot at installation and so I did and after yelling a few curses' to myself I finally got it installed! Alas , the intro was great and as I saw the opening sequence I was in awe. As I started gameplay I learned you could choose from thirteen different races and even create your own (of course with it's own set of pros and cons).
As I embarked for galaxy domination it was a little tough to figure it out but I soon got the hang of it and so there I was with an ultimate fleet and almost complete control of the galaxy when my opponent race then devoloped better technology and wiped me out...
So... I started over with a new race and hot dog I won!!!
Too easy so I set it at a different difficulty and it was a lot harder.
In this game you can do almost anything from, hiring officals , trading with other races , making treaties , building great cities , waging war and taking over an opponent's star system(he , he , he). You can do it all in this game.
A few setbacks are poor graphics , a little complex for the younger ages and easy overpowerment and a slow and brutal installation process.
Overall I was addicted for a couple month's and great if you love strategy's and have patience!!!

Summary: Great game. Great time waster.
Review: Pick up this game if you can. The interface is way better than the first MOO, but this is understandable since that game came from the late 80S. Anyway do not play this game if you have a lot of work to do since you can easily spend anywhere from 3-4 hours building colonies and ships, waging war, and doing diplomacy. I would have liked this game more if there was more interactivity in building the colonies and ships other than just picking an item to build or just assembling a ship and then waiting for time and resources to be allocated so that the item can be built. Personally I would start with this game and then go out and pick up a copy of the original MOO ... both will provide lots of substantial playing time.

Summary: Pure Strategy Game To The Bone!!!
Review: I was playing it so often that the cd got all scratched so i bought another one. I'm just very fond of the whole concept of the game, it's simply a pure strategy game to the bone. If you study the game really well then you will find that precizely customized races will give the best results + saving and loading alot. I dont think the game is too easy but I win it all the time, and I only play in "HARD" and "IMPOSSIBLE" modes (customized of corse), MO2 was made by Microprose not Infogrames or so I thought!?!.

Summary: Hooked back in 1984
Review: I keep looking for this game. Now that I found it I can't wait to play it again. I played this game when it was made for Atari computer systems. Then I found it again in 1996 played it for a few years the looked for the updated version saw MOO2 and didn't have a computer system then the so I waited. Now I stumble accross MOO2 trying to find something close. I just hope it works on Me systems. I like the MAX also, but haven't found it for Me system yet either. Hope to play it soon again!! ... ...

Summary: This game will make your Top Ten List!
Review: Master of Orion II is simply awesome. Excellent story line. Excellent playability. Science fiction at its best. One of those games that most never forget. This game does not require cutting edge systems, vid cards, and 3d accelerators. It sells itself on sheer content. Best of all- Its only 10 Bucks!

Your success depends on production, research, economy, and diplomacy. If you understand aliens, starships, stargates, cloaking devices, tractor beams, battlebots, space stations, interdiction fields, stellar converters, hyperspace travel, time/space anomolies, and so forth... This is your cup of tea!

Summary: Many Enhancement, but one major drawback from Orion I
Review: I was an authentic Orion fan as I played Orion I throughout years since I got it early in 1994. This version of Orion absorbed quite some ideas from Civilization series, which is a very positive step. And the addition of planetary system model, the two categories of heroes, and the extensive management of resources(manpower and food) are all interesting. Yet there is one major thing puzzled me throughout the game: even as I started with an "Impossible" level game, I was literally never attacked by any enemies except some rare assaults from Antaran --- and this latter assault could be powerful if I would have to face it with my early fleets. However, there is another addition in this version, the Starbase, which then turns even the Antaran attack into piece of joke. With the most primitive nuclear missiles equipped, at very early stage, my starbase destroyed the Antaran destroyer level fleet easily. (Later there are bigger ships coming, but your strength grows even faster.) I wonder, is this starbase addition(incredibly boosted the defensive advantage) discouraged any aggressive plans of the AI opponents? Also the planetary systems gave you lots of space to develop without the need to fight to expand your empire --- altogether makes the "difficult early stage"(as truly in Orion I) of your empire too relaxing.

Summary: MOO2
Review: Outstanding game that was based on the still hugely popular VGA-PLANETS PBEM game that has over 60,000 registered users, the authors of MOO2 freely admited they played vgaplanets and also admited in a CGW interview that they consulted Tim Wisserman and he didn't see a conflect since his game was built as a true multiplayer game whereas MOO2 used AI. Still..very enjoyable but not at the level of vgaplanets strategy wise or anywhere near as customizable but still fun.
