Summary: Where do I begin?
Review: This game is no fun at all. The camera allows you only to view the POV of the first starship that you enlist. All other action is far away represtned by cheesy little icons. Or else they are viewed on an inset window covered by status reports on the ship's systems. Ships just bash at each other off camera until shields collapse. Part of the fin of a role playing game is collecting sufficent inteligence to formulate a strategy. That is not poosible here.The maps are unclear. Find Romulan Space? Come on, the only way you could find anything in this game would be if you actually graduated Star Fleet Academy in the 24th Century. And once you've passed beyond the Launch Fleet screen there is no way to check the map to refresh your memory. The sesnro scan function makes an authentic sound but it doesn't seem to do much else.Furthermore it is next to impossible to save a game and come back to it because the game is buggy as hell and needs to be re-installed each time you play. And these compliants are just the tip of a very big iceberg. I wanted to like this game because I was a very big fan of the Dominion War segment of Star Trek Deep Space 9. But this game captured none of the flavor of that. They should have gone for a Command & Conquer model or-- at the very lesat-- a first person shooter. What this is is just cashing in on the name of a lucrative franchise.

Summary: Regarding the glitchy or slow mouse control
Review: This game is not perfect but it is loads of fun. The graphics are excellent and so is the gameplay. However, I will get to the point regarding the glitchy mouse control. Don't bother getting patches 1.05 or whatever some people here have been suggesting. My computer runs on Windows XP and I had the same problems when I first ran the program. The solution:

1. go to the Dominion Wars shortcut.
2. right click on the icon.
3. select properties.
4. select the "compatibility" tab.
5. in the "compatibility mode" box make sure the box is checked and choose Windows 98/ME.
6. hit OK.
7. "Punch it Chewie!"...oh wait, that's Star Wars.

That worked perfectly for me. Unfortunately I had to randomly try things since there is no longer support for DS9: DW. Oh well, such is life. Good luck and happy hunting.

Summary: Dominon Wars - True to the Series
Review: This game stays true to the series in terms of story. Newbies to the Star Trek saga would be hanging by a thread in the plot. Game play is decent - I would have liked this game better if the ships at our disposal would be more control friendly. When you ask a ship to fire phasers or photon torpedoes or attempt a manuever such as "Alpha Strike," it fires on its own. Starfleet Command allowed the player to fire phasers and photon torpedoes at the player's discretion, this game does so on it's own. Winning missions pretty much depends on your arsenal of weapons and what class ship you have or how many ships are in your fleet.
The Graphics are rendered quite nicely and you can import ships from Starship Creator Warp 2 (only Akira, Defiant, and Galaxy) into the multiplayer game. Galaxy ships that are imported in seems to appear invisible - a product of a program glitch or bug that need fixing and patching. Previously no patches are available online to correct this mistake. This game seldom crashes and players can finish the entire game in one day. You can chose to be Dominion or Federation forces.
Gameplay = 7/10
Graphics = 7/10
Sound = 8/10
Value = 7/10

Review: This games rocks. Start out and play as either the Federation or the Dominion. Lead up to 6 ships into battle as you fight in the Dominion war. Great graphics, awesome gameplay, and easy installation make this a must have game. I love playing head to head with my friends. Add this to your Christmas list. Summary: This game stinks
Review: This is a very nice looking game, but it's way too buggy, and after you've beaten the main missions (took me about three days of extremely relaxed gameplay), you might as well throw the thing away. One nice thing is that you are supposed to be able to import a ship created with the included edition of Starship Creator Warp 2, but dang it! the game was so friggin buggy, I never even tried. A skirmish mode, a la SFC, would have been *very* nice here; what would have been nicer would have been more thorough support.

Summary: The best ever Trek game
Review: This is by far the best ever Trek game made. It is so smooth to play--easy to learn. It has fantastic graphics and sound, great movies, and nothing but intense action. If you are a Trek fan I would highly recommend you picking up this game! You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Star Trek Fans, Get Ready For The Ultimate Space Battle!
Review: This is only the 2nd video game I ever purchased, and I picked another winner! This 3D tactical game is set during the 2 years of the DS9 Dominion War pitting the Federation (Klingons) against the Dominion (Cardassians). As leader, you get to assign captains for all the ships (up to 24), while you keep everything in check from the flagship. Your selection of captains should be based on their individual strenghts (leadership, agressiveness, etc.). There are many diversions and side-attactions, assuring hours of fun play without a moment of boredom. The superior graphics are another thing that makes the decision to want to own this video marvel easy. This game rules!

Summary: Good but needs patching
Review: This was the game I've been waiting for the last year, and it's good,there are some bugs but nothing to sevre, the graphix are outstanding, the MP needs wrok, to slow over the net.

The mission s are difficult and force you to think, the voice wrok on the mission briefing can become long and drawn out, and the missions get more difficult as the story unfolds.

Over all a great game, the have 2 patches out, and could expect a third, they aren't that big, took me 3 min total for both patches.

Summary: Excellent Game
Review: Very good game. Enjoyable. Can be played on non graphics card enable PCs but very slowly with alot of ram. It would be slugish on missions with nebulas. Computers with Graphics card, will will be very good. On my cheap ATI Xpert 128 32mb card, it ran very well except for slugish controls and stretching ships when engaging warp drive.I liked the graphics and playability. It's cross between Armada and Starfleet Command. They could have added more ship controls like in Starfleet Command though. It is worth the money.
