Summary: SimCity3000 Unlimited..A Masterpiece!
Review: I have to say that SimCity3000 Unlimited is a true work of art. I went to buy this game and it's expensive but it's worth every penny. As soon as I got home I tore open the box and launched it in my brand new Pentium 4 Processor with cable modem. I was amazed at the graphics used in this game as soon as I saw the cutscene, but even more amazed when I saw the graphics while playing the game. You start out with nothing and must build an entire empire full with power, water, transportation, tourist attractions, and much more. This game is very fun once you build a small town and continue to make it into a huge city. I never built a big city because I couldn't figure out how to set the taxes right, I thought that was the most challenging part of the game. My land values were very high and I still got a little under the city budget. Anyway, SimCity3000 Unlimited leaves it's previous ancestors in dust because of it's strong graphical engine, hidden suprises, building architect tool where you can create your own buildings from scratch, internet option to share your creations with other mayors, and most important of all, the extordinary gameplay! So why did I give this four stars? Because it's slow once you get into a huge city. It took me about two minutes to move just one stroke of a key to view the city. Even on cable it runs slow. Well, I got the hang of the speed but after a while this game gets kind of boring, so I uninstalled it and sold it for the same price I bought it for, but I must say! If you love the previous Sim games more than I do then I say buy this because if you don't then you'll regret it!

Summary: A big step up from the original(and even from 2000!)
Review: This game is really cool! Here's all the features of Sim City 3000 Unlimited that Sim City 3000 didn't include: It includes 4 new disasters which are Whirpools,Toxic Waste Clouds,falling space ships, and locusts,you can make you're own buildings and scenarios,improved graphics,you can make as many landmarks as you want and there new ones,Plus at least one new reward building. if you're a Sim City 2000 fan that didn't buy sim City 3000 cause it wasn't much different from 2000 then you should go with this one since it's a lot more up to date and realilistic than Sim City classic and 2000. P.S. Sim City 3000 Unlimited also includes scenarios that 3000 dosn't that are a little more complex than those of The original Sim city and sim city 2000

Summary: Sim City 3000 UK/Sim City 3000 Unltd - AWESOME!
Review: I am from the UK, and I have Sim City 3000 UK Edition. However, this is exactly the same as the US version Sim City 3000 Unlimited.
Your task is to build a big and successful city. Sounds simple. But it's harder than you think.
There's toxic plants, rioters, taxes, neighbours and lots of other obstacles.
You have to make decisions that will have equal amounts of "fors" and "againsts."
EG: Parking fines. Some people think that Parking Fines are good to stop road loonys parking in any old spot. Others think that it's just and excuse to get money from citizens.
And the one about Legalising Gambling. Some think it's a bit of fun and just a game. But the snootier ones think it causes crime and your gambling with lives!!!

As mayor, it's your choice. Whether it's raising taxes or building and airports, it's what you want to to do.

NEIGHBOURS: The neighbouring cities (there are four) may ask you for deals. They can take garbage from you or you take garbage from them, and other deals with power and water supplies.
If you take their garbage, you can make money, but you will have to suffer the pollution and extra garbage!

If you buy this game, try it without cheats. If your desperate (I AM!) then try these cheat codes:
(PS: You have to press SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, C at the same time for a box to come up. Then type codes in...)
i am weak - free building of schools, parks, power plants...but you have to pay for demolition!
call cousin vinnie - you get 100,000 simoleans! It will come under Penitioners Issues (I Cannot Spell!) and "Local Fundraising Event"
power to the masses - ALL POWER PLANTS AVAILABLE!

Summary: It's a cool game, with awesome graphics!

Summary: SimCity 2000 Gone Bad.
Review: When Maxis put out SimCity 3000: Unlimited, I was very excited. I've always been impressed with their games, from SimCity Classic and 2000 to SimTower, SimFarm, and Sim ThemePark. But this game just doesn't live up to the Maxis reputation.

First, you're lucky if the game loads under 10 minutes. On my 400mhz machine with 128 megs of RAM, it often took me 15 minutes to get the game loaded. I couldn't do any multitasking with this game, or it would crash. Another problem with memory -- if you get a large city, it takes forever to load and forever to scroll. The image jumps across the screen at a pace that makes you feel like your only transportation is a walker.

The game has some nice upgrades from 2000 - better trading of goods - power, trash, etc - and a better advising system all together. The graphics are more pleasing, and the ultra zoom is entertaining, allowing you to watch individual cars and people, as well as parades in your honor. The special landmarks are pretty, but they aren't restricted at all, nor do they seem to add anything but aesthetic value to the gamer. You lose the stats on visitors like you had with the landmarks in 2000.

The game is more challenging than 2000, and I found it too difficult to get my city up and started. Building to the bare minimum, I still would go bankrupt - a problem I had never encountered with SimCity 2000.

I give the game 3 stars for its new features and for being a memory hog. If you have SimCity 2000, I'd invest in the expansion pack or the special edition and not bother with 3000: Unlimited. It's a lot cheaper, has many similar feautres, and it won't crash your system.

Summary: SimCity 3000 Unlimited - Unlimited Building Possibilities
Review: SimCity 3000 Unlimited is one of the few games that I really love to play over and over again. It enables the player to build the city of their dreams utilizing famous real-life city landmarks and buildings. You may use these buildings and incorporate them into your dream city. The game can also be upgraded from the Maxis downloads page where players can download new building landmarks, download player custom built buildings, or to simply create their own stylish building to add into their cities. The graphics are great and the buildings are each detailed. You can now zoom in 3 times as close than before with SimCity 2000. Cars and people are easily noticeable at such zoom magnifications. The only problems I experienced when playing this game was that even with a killer computer system and over 1 gig of memory, the gameplay seems to lag when you scroll through a large city that you built. I believe this may be true in all Maxis games that involves building Sims or large populations such as cities and theme parks. Nonetheless, this game is still considered a favorite among other games I have in my library of games.
Gameplay = 9/10
Graphics = 7/10
Sound = 8/10
Value = 8/10

Summary: I love it!
Review: Before recieving this game for Christmas, I read dueling reviews on how this program responds to a particular computer. I personally have no problem with the speed. It's really fast on my 368mb ram, 1.3 ghz., windows xp computer. I've encountered no problems with it. This program is so much fun. its easier to control than simcity 2000 because there are advisors that tell you the problem. I also think that the graphics are a whole lot better. You can actually see what is going on. Even though I have had trouble mking my needed money, I think that this is a challenging game and you need to think globally in order to make the best decisons for what to do with the money you have. I also think that its really cool to build landmarks, like I built a world trade center memorial, the eiffel tower, the united nations and the bank of china in one city. If you like designing and running a city, this is a great game for you. I would recommend that your processor is rather fast, however, so you don't encounter problems.

Summary: A lot of little changes don't make a big one
Review: I played SimCity 2000 and loved it; the only major downs of that game were the fact that you can't build on hills (or should I call them "cliffs"?) and if you have a diagonal road, the buildings don't come up to the edge of it, as real buildings would. Nevertheless, I found the game rather entertaining and challenging.

So I figured, when I bought SimCity 3000 Unlimited, that it would be a great deal better than 2000. I won't say it isn't better. It is. But I think that all the new changes are still very little. That is, you get new buildings, the ability to design your own buildings, new zones, and a slightly nicer interface. I particularly like the Asian Landmark buildings (though the romanization of some of the names is sometimes inaccurate.) But, as some other reviewers have mentioned, it's slow when you get a big city (even on a top of the line computer), and is such a memory hog that I have to turn off my few background applications as well as the music and traffic.

If you don't already have a SimCity game, I'd say get it ... it is a good game. But if you've got 3000, or even just 2000, I'd say wait; maybe 4000 will be a smoother, more realistic version.

Summary: Fun, but get 3,000 regular
Review: Well, you just ordered it off of Amazon.com, it came in the mail today, and ten minutes ago you put the Sim City 3000 Unlimited Into your disk drive. Arcitect Plus? What's that? Who cares? You start to play the game. The amazing graphics stun you when you start. This is nothing like 2000.You sit, starring into your computer screen, experementing, and abussing the trust your people have in you. After about five hours your eyes are to sore from playing, and you save your game and quit. This cycle continues for a week. And at school, you fing yourself day dreaming about the games possibilitys.

That's me. And belive me I know what I'm talking about. I must of played Sim City 3000 Unlim. For at least 500 hours now. And when my science teacher asked me if I would be an aid for her summer school class that was about playing Sim City 3000 Unlimited, I jumped at the chance. However, we ended up ussing reagular 3000. And that is the problem with 3000 Unlimited There is a very small difference between 3000, and 3000 Unlimited.

So save yourself a few bucks, and get regular Sim City 3000.

Summary: Minor Flaw, Major Perfection
Review: I recently bought Sim City 3000 Unlimited and have been very impressed with everything about it. The graphics aren't as good as SC4, but this game is not as boring, and the graphics are great for a sim game.

There is one flaw that gets a little bit annoying and that would be that even with the newest systems, if your city gets to large the game will start to run slowly, and in the case of my computer it will close out all together and give you an error messege that there was not enough virtual memory (whatever that is) to run the game. It takes a lot of it on any computer.

The best thing in this game is how you have the power to do anything you want, (hence the name unlimited). The building architect program included is a great feature when you want a certain kind of building in your town that you don't already have.

I strongly suggest this game for any Sim City Fans like me, but beware of the large city flaw.
