Rating: Summary: The Sixth And Hopefully Final Expansion Pack For The Sims Review: The Sims Superstar adds a completely different aspect of your sims lives to the game, the chance to be a superstar. Your sims can start an acting, singing, or modeling carrer, and for the first time you travel with your sims to work. This solves the dilemma of having your sims spend a third of the day at work without your control or them. As their fame score increases they have access to new fame objects enabeling them to earn more money. Even though this is a much needed expansion to the game, I'm still waiting for a sequal to the sims instead of more and more expansion packs. This game, following the pattern of the last few expansion packs, is only really enjoyable for the first few days you play it. If you extremely like the sims, get it, but if you are new to the sims, forget about it.
Rating: Summary: another great sims game DUH Review: Recently I purchased the Sims Superstar edition and can't let go of it. Another great thing is you can take your sims to work if they chose the fame career. Here is how i would letter grade the game-Grahics-B Gameplay-A Fun-B+ Music-C+ No replay value because you never win nor lose. How to chose the fame career you might ask. Well, in the morning a paper and a tabloid will appear on your front lawn. When you go to the tabloid select hire an agent. This will let you visit studio town free and you are now in the fame career. To become famous you must work your way up the star chart. To do this you mut impress audiances, directors, or photographers ect. Another new thing in this game is you can meet actual Superstars like Averill Lavine, Marilyn Munroe?[that's my question too], Cristina Agulara and much more. Three things you can do in studio town are sing, model, of act. The game also adds over 150 items. But some items you will have to gain stars in order to buy. You can also win awards. For example, the Sims Choice Award. The music is still classic music. ALSO. bUY THE SIMS OR SIMS DELUXE OR YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PLAY. AND I would recommend that you buy The Sims unleashed next, then any additionel expancion packs. Then By the Sims Superstar edition. Overall a outstanding game and a must buy. Remember, most popular series of computer games EVER.
Rating: Summary: Sims is addictive again! Review: After installing Superstar, I haven't been this addicted to the game for a long time. It's a wonderful expansion pack; truly a revolutionary one since Hot Date(in the sense it made dramatically drastic changes to the game). Livin' Large introduced fantasy elements into the game. House Party wasn't much of a drastic change. Hot Date was a big change, making the Sims' relationship building more complicated (by adding 2 levels of relationships as well as various interests) as well as enabling the player to play with Sims outside their homes. Vacation wasn't as drastic because only expanded on the leaving-the-house interface. Unleashed enabled pets, expanded the neighborhood - nevertheless, it wasn't as big a change as Superstar is. For the first time you can actually take your Sim to work (as a model, actor or rock star). There's plenty of cool new challenges here - accumulating and maintaining star power to remain at the top of the fame game; the puzzles of attempting to figure out capricious instructions from directors, producers and fashion photographers; dealing with stalking by an obsessed fan. By adding this type of goal-based element to The Sims has refreshed the franchise without compromising its open-ended gameplay and thus re-invigorating a 3-year old game (which needless to say, is quite elderly in computer years). There's a few minor bugs which I won't go into here, but at least on my end they seem to be fewer of them than in Unleashed. If you've felt that the franchise has started running out of steam, Sims Superstar should change your mind.
Rating: Summary: Fun! Review: This new expansion pack is really cool. Your Sims can become movie stars, musicians, or supermodels. The only problem is...it's very hard to make your sims famous! First of all, they have to suck up to a LOT of people in order to have celebrity friends. Then, they have to perform well EVERY TIME they work, or else one of their precious "stars" is taken away. (There are five stars...they have to get all of them to be the ultimate superstar.) This game is really fun, but I wish that it was easier to make your sim a celebrity.
Rating: Summary: Great game but the price is bad Review: This game is great and has a ton of new objects. We can finally all live our dream and become a superstar. A butler can also help you out and help run the house. The only problem is that you can buy this game for less at many other sites or stores. Buy this house somewhere else.
Rating: Summary: DO NOT BUY! Review: This Expansion Set is very buggy. Many people are successfully running it but many are not. Check out some of the fan forums at places like TSR Sims Forum and even Maxis' own BBS at their official Sims site. It looks like a great expansion if only it will work. I am yet to be able to send a Sim to Studio Town without it crashing and corrupting my house files. If you have had any trouble in the past with Sims expansion kits before, WAIT UNTIL (and if) MAXIS RELEASES A PATACH! DO NOT BUY UNTIL THEN!
Rating: Summary: GO SIMS BABY! Review: The Sims Superstar is my favorite sims game. It is the Bomb! It has alot of better stuff and the [butler] take cares of babies and the house. I am dieing of what will they bring next? Maybe it will be for Cars i really hope so and a free garage for 1 car.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good, better than than hot date Review: I think that although it's time for a sequel, Sims Superstars is pretty good. It's a lot better than Hot Date, the children actually get to do stuff. The new objects are good too. The butler just makes everything soo much easier including having children.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: I just got this game and it's great! You only get bugs if you download those #$%#% hacks from Fan Sites. There are new Mini Games when you get in the advanced parts, also you can have a spa and have the sims talk to all the other sims in that spa! Hoe cool is that? When your sim gets all that fame, and money, you can hire a personal Butler that will turn on Servo (Living Large/Livin it Up) or hire other staff! He will also do some other cool things like baby sit, take care of your guests, and scare of the obsessed fan!
Rating: Summary: What's the point?? Review: Ok..I have to admit, for awhile I was addicted to the sims-- I mean totally addicted. I had all sorts of crazy dyfunctional families living in the most bizarre houses and wearing the most bizarre clothes I could possibly find. All of my sims were at the top of their career ladders with tons of friends and lots of money. But then I realized... something was definitely missing. The games just werent fun anymore. I even bought Unleashed, Vacation, and Living Large to add something..that missing ingredient. But I still haven't found it. And The Sims now sits on the shelf all alone..and I dont think I ever want to play it again. The little objects are "amusing" for awhile, but then everything becomes too repitive. A game is supposed to take you far and away into a whole different world, but the Sims is almost exactly like normal day life with a few strange objects, perfect weather, and never-aging people. No matter how many new junk Maxis piles into the expansion packs, the game will never have a point. And please, if you already got a lot of Sims products, you really need to stop buying these games. They become a large expense, take up a ton of computer memory, and get pretty boring in a short period of time.
