Summary: Horrible Game
Review: I don't think I need to go over all of the bad points about this game in this review. All you need to do is read the rest of the reviews. All serious gamers pay attention to the one and two star reviews. These guys seem to be serious gamers themselves and have pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Summary: Demos=Sales
Review: I first found out about Real War on a demo I got. I really Thought it was A great game so I went to amazon and purchased it.
I like the realism characteristics of the units that arent only real and used in the US Military, But are so realistlicaly captured on this virtual battlefield. The game is really great and I hope it becomes a Bestseller!

Summary: The name should be Real Lame.
Review: I got frusturated with this game while playing it. Controlling your land most sea units is not difficult at all. It is similar as with any other RTS game.

Controlling air units was a bit difficult. The air units move rather quickly, and for fast games, controlling all your units at once becomes a laborious task. A plane may be on an airfield, carrier, or in the air. Unless you are good at tracking all of your planes, it is difficult to keep up with all of them at once.

The only good point in the game that I can think of would be the Briefings. The movies at the beginning of some of the misssions get you into the patriotic mood at times, and that is about it.

Summary: it rocks
Review: I got the demo, and its cool. Its the best game I've ever played.
Its similar to red alert but the interface kicks, and you can do air to air combat and theres no stupid minerals to dig up. It has real looking tanks (M1A1 and T-80U MBTs) and lots of cool planes.
All of the units on both sides are in existance ( many are U.S. and former soviet Union ). The nukes are an especially nice touch. BOOM. Get it. I went to this web site for the U.S. military game thet its based on , and there are a lot of similarities especially in the interface. Buy it.

Summary: Not what I was expecting from the hype.
Review: I heard about this game early on, from several preview articles. I was really excited to hear a real time war simulator for the public was being released by a company that had developed real time simulators for the military. What a dissapointment this is! Definitely an arcade experience. I'm giving it 2 stars based on the fact that its highly unrealistic... and that I was expecting REAL WAR. If you like RTS's just for a beer and pretzel fun time game... this is fine i guess... if you are anything of a serious war gamer... STAY AWAY!!! Stick with Operational Art of War or any number of fantasic war games produced out there instead!

Summary: Don't Believe the Hype!
Review: I only wish I had read the reviews for this game before I wasted $40 on it. This game is laughable. Sure, the cinematic clips are awesome...but if you want a war movie, go and rent a DVD. From a GAMING standpoint, this 'Real' War game is a joke.

Good luck with the 4th Campaign mission called 'Allied Shield'. It is much too difficult of a mission, and hearing the Full Metal Jacket drill sargeant mock you after each failed attempt, you'll be left mocking yourself for purchasing this disgrace of a game.

I will never buy a game by S&S Interactive again.

WORST RTS EVER

Summary: Not a Bad Game
Review: I thought Real War was a fun game. It can be fast paced and challenging and does require a certain amount of strategy. It does not however have the jazzy graphics that many other current games display so if that is your primary motivator....look elsewhere!

Summary: Skip it - not "Real" at all
Review: I was hugely dissapointed by this game. I have been looking forward to a RTS using real life units, etc. and this sounded like it. Instead what I ended up owning is a sub-par fantasy RTS. It should not take a group of 4 attack copters each firing missiles 10 passes to kill one tank. In addition to the lackluster gameplay and realism, there are major configuration bugs. Im not sure how this game made it out of test. For instance when I upped the screen resolution the mouse pointer dissapeared. And when I turned on 3D accelerated graphics many units become invisible. It is very difficult to select one of your units when you cant see them and then to tell them to attack an enemy unit that is also transparent. I wish I could get my money back - I completed the first mission and will probably never play this poor excuse for entertainment again

Summary: UH, IT SUCKS
Review: If you are expecting an AGE OF EMPIRES that is more modern and up to date... try again. Hell, this is just a one on one stupid who can build their base faster SMARTER game.

It requires no skill level to managing resources (other than power) and absolutely is way too fast (even on slow level) to try and manage your entire army.

Flat out, this game sucks. I bought it at E-Boutique and was very glad cause I could take it back. STAY AWAY. It even didn't install correctly and took me 2 hours to figure out that I have to say "NO" to directx 8.0 install... its not intelligent enough to recognize I have it and skip the install.

IT SUCKS! IT SUCKS! IT SUCKS! IT SUCKS! IT SUCKS! STAY AWAY OR BUY AT OWN RISK.

WAIT FOR EMPIRE EARTH... I have played the demo and that will at that will be well worth the wait.

Summary: Excellent Strategy Game
Review: If you are looking for an excellent strategy game, I would suggest this one. You can have access to cool weaponry and vehicles like: F-117 Stealth Fighters, Aircraft Carriers, Tactical Nukes, Navy Seals, etc. It is also a very challenging game, which I was glad not to find another pushover. You have to set up camp and build "supply depots" to get your resources, which regulates how fast you can build items. You get the different items by laying down certain camps (for example, you get the land strategy center by laying down a soldiers tent and vehicle yard). Long story short, it is a great game.
