Summary: Age is a Factor...
Review: This game is meant for small children,7-16. This game is very easy to use. The problem is that if you are a first time simulation user, who is a young kid, you will be confused. Well, lets start.
-First, the annoying little guy who is constantly hastling you about things may be trying to make things better, but sadly, it aint helping. There is no option to turn it off. The first time a young child hears one of his damp jokes, he/she might laugh. After that, it is blaintly annoying.
-Second, buiding pathways, making roller coasters, and making them agree with eachother is a hard task.

And the pros:
-Very simple, if I explained it to you.
-Fun. I find that it isn't as addictive as Sim City 3000 Unlimited.

Overall:
5-8 year olds= This is good.
9-15 year olds= Stick with Roller Coaster Tycoon.
16+ year old= Try Roller Coaster Tycoon and Sim City 3000 Unlimited.

Summary: Not a substitute for a roller coaster ride
Review: If you're buying this program with the idea of building a roller coaster and then getting to experience it, you will be very disappointed in the graphics in the "try-out" section of the program. If, on the other hand, you want to try to create another type of Sim City, you'll like it.

Summary: Good for the first 30 minutes...
Review: When I first played this game, I loved it so much. I just couldn't pull myself away from the computer screen. I loved it so much that I even blew the [dollar amount] and bought it. I played non-stop for about an hour, then ran out of things to do and quit. I never brought it out again. [...]

Summary: Sim Theme Park
Review: I found this game to be very addictive. You get to make four theme parks. The first two are the easiest. The other parks are at higher levels, and I found them difficult to maintain financially. There are no cheats for this game that don't involve editing game files, so making money is very important. If you keep losing money, you will go bankrupt, and the game is over. There is ample help in this game, in the form of what appears to be a talking black ant. He will give you tips on what you should be doing. You can also use the camcorder view to walk around your park as a patron, but I found that this gave me severe motion sickness! The game is still enjoyable without using that option, though. The graphics are cute and cartoonish, as opposed to completely realistic, so if that bothers you, you probably won't like this game. Personally, I thought the cartoonish style was fun.

I have to respectfully disagree with what others have posted, when they said that riding the rides was not fun. There is only so much simulation you can do with riding a carnival ride in a computer game. I found the effects for the most part to be what I expected, and riding a rollercoaster you made is definitely fun. In regards to it being hard to make money in this game, that is true if you don't know this tip that I found on a hint web site: you should concentrate on having having lots of drink and food shops in proportion to your rides. That's where you really make your money in this game.

While I'm giving this game five stars, based on my own feelings toward it, I can think of four reasons a person would not enjoy it. If you don't like the cartoon-style graphics, as I mentioned before, you might have difficulty liking the game. The ant guy who helps you does get really annoying, but you can switch him off in options. The third thing is my personal pet peeve, which is the janitors can never get the place quite clean enough. The fourth thing is the biggie: this game comes with NO manual. None. It comes in an empty cd case, without even a front cover. So I'm not surprised that many people here can not figure out to build the coasters, because it's not like you get any help from a manual. Personally, I did find this game highly intuitive, so I didn't have any problems learning it, but reading the other reviews tells me that others did not have similar experiences.

By the way, I have not yet played Roller Coaster Tycoon, so I can't compare this game to that one at all.

Summary: A great game, but poor programing
Review: I tried to play the game. It was starting to get good, exept the game crashed. I was very disapointed in the programming of the game and how the creators created it, to not being the best game ever. Beileive me. The game is good, but has very bad programming. Save your money, and buy Rollar Coaster Tycoon or maybe even SIM coaster.

Summary: SOOOOO COOOL
Review: SIM theme park is great. It`s tons of fun and is never the same game twice. You get to run a whole theme park. There's even real life puke. You get to buy and set rides. Hire and fire staff. Research new things. Set the cost of food, the ticket price, and the sideshows. You can even build roller coasters and ride all of the rides! This is my favorite game yet.

Summary: Disappointed in the general public...not the game.
Review: I just bought this game one week ago, and it's all that I can think about sometimes. Not because of the intricate graphics, or the numerous rides, but because it *is* hard. Most of the reviews written here are from people complaining about how hard it is, or that it's not as flashy as other games. Seriously, is flashiness the point of Sim games? Well, partly, but there is the underlying notion that it is a game of skill. If you ran an amusement park, do you think it would be an easy job? I find this game absolutely fascinating and hope that the sour reviews will not defer some of you from purchasing it.

Summary: Boring
Review: I had this game a couple years, at first I loved the game, but then I became annoyed with the stupid ant thing that kept repeating everything again and again. Maybe its just my computer but the words on the game are all jumbled looking and I cant understand the ant. There is only four worlds, which by the way are all the same but different scenary, and they dont give you enough money to buy everything you need. Theres not enough options for this games, theres like 5 different rides, 4 concession stands, and you need like 20 janitors to keep the park clean. Nobody want to ride the ride because they are to expensive, but you will lose money if you lower the price. The game takes forever to load and even longer to get off the game and do something else. Save your money and buy something worth it.
