Summary: An awful, awful game
Review: At first, the game looks interesting. I thought,"Wow, looks like another neat game from maxis." I already have simtower and simcopter, so I was looking forward to the next one. But when I played it, I thought Maxis had flipped, for 3 reasons:

1.) The graphics are horrible.
2.) The humor is stupid and childish.
3.) There's no freedom and this little guy won't leave me alone.

Take my word for it, this game is for the birds.

Summary: Check out my solution for running on Windows XP/2000
Review: Back in Xmas 2002 I dusted this off for an 'hour or so' and I had forgotten what a blast it was. Anyways, I had some technical issues with the game not starting so I investigated the problem and found a solution. Check out my solution for details: http://www.adamhearn.co.uk/games/themeparkworld/tpwwin2kfix.html

Not everyone has got it running with my help but I've personally had 100% success rate (many machines) - just follow the instructions carefully! Lots of people tell me it works as well!

As for the game itself, yeah it's not exactly modern but still looks good todat. If you get a busy park the engine can have problems keeping up - getting a bit slow/chuggy and cleaners/guards sometimes get 'confused' on where they should be etc. A good 4/5 methinks.

Summary: Not enough freedom
Review: Roller coaster tycoon never came out for mac, so that's why I ended up buying Sim Theme Park. It was different than Roller Coaster tycoon in some good and bad ways, so I'll tell you them and you could decide if you want this.

Pros:

You can click on the ride button and ride any of the rides. Even the custom made ones like roller coasters.

You can walk around the park just like you would at a real theme park.

Cons:

Not enough freedom. Once you build all of the rides, in all four parks, that's it.

Everything would disappear when I won a key to open up a 4th park and I would need to reinstall the software. A major con. I never opened up in Space land.

So that was the pros and cons. You could decide what you think about it before you buy.

Summary: STP is a lot better than Roller Coaster tycoon!
Review: Roller Coaster Tycoon is a boring game. This game is so much better! On;y 2 and a half stars!? You can ride your own rides, walk in your own park, create your own rollercoasters, the graphics are great and you get 4 different themes. The only complaint I have about this game is the little black ball that always pops up and says to lower your price or something, but luckely, you can turn him off. If you want a real roller coaster simulator, skip Roller Coaster Tycoon and buy this.

Summary: Its ok
Review: This game is awesome for the first 10 times you get on and play it. After that it becomes routine and you know how to do everything but its the same basic scenario. The parks change but its the same thing over and over. After I got to Wonderland there was no motivation to get on anymore because I knew Space Zone would be the same thing that I had already done 3 times. This game is fun but after awhile I just sold it and bought a better one.

Summary: Was fun until I joined this century computerwise.
Review: Sim Theme Park is a GREAT game to play. You can ride the rides and wander down among the people to watch over your park. However, make sure you don't start out with 98 and switch to XP because then the game is going to collect dust. And just when you're completely hooked on it. *sigh*

Summary: Very Fun
Review: I really liked this game. You start out with only one park because you have to earn the keys to get to the other three parks. It is fun because you get to buy the different rides, sideshows, restaurants, etc. You can hire people such as a janitor, entertainers, researchers, gaurds, and others. You must keep your customers happy too. If your ticket price is too high, your customers will just turn around and go home. It's a lot of fun to build the park and manage it. But if you are one of those people who likes to manage every single Sim, don't buy this game because you can't manage where the customers go or what they do. In my opinion, this game is really fun and you should go ahead and buy it.

Summary: don't spend anything, it's not worth anything
Review: It is just boring you think you saved something on it when you lose it. Is that good gaming? NO! You can only go to the kingdom you start out with, you can't go to any others that's what it did to me when I played it. So if you get it you must have seen good reviews this one's bad. Trust me DON'T get this game it's not worth anything!!!

Summary: Windows XP users BEWARE
Review: I bought this game because my daughter had played it at my sister's house. She kept begging me to bring her back to her aunt's house so she could play the game. Unfortunately, I wish that I had read the reviews on this site before ordering it since it does not work with Windows XP. And the customer support site is so bad that I hesitate to call it 'support'. They give 'hints' on how to make it work on XP, but none of them worked. I tried emailing them for help, but kept getting messages that the support site had 'moved'. Since I had kept the box, I am going to send it back. I really wish the EA would get on the stick and come out with a version that can be played on XP

Summary: Sim Theme Park
Review: I am yet to find an Electronic Arts game that does not provide me with hours of entertainment. However, with all the "Theme Park" simulation games on the web, I advise you to chose the Roller Coaster Tycoon Games.
Why do I advise you to chose the Tycoon games?

*The Roller Coaster Tycoon has better, more realistic, and more playable graphics. Of course if you are one who enjoys the cartoonist preception of the characters, this will be an okay feature. However, I recommend looking for screenshots of this game to see if you like the graphics.

*Sim Theme Park clogs up your computer system much worse than Roller Coaster Tycoon, so unless you have a pretty fast system, be prepared for some freezing, where with Roller Coaster Tycoon you can pretty much play with out annoying slowness.

*Sim Theme Park gets boring fast with its last of great rides, themes.

Don't get me wrong I love simulation games. (They are my ultimate favorite) But I sincerely recommend the Roller Coaster Tyoon Games. They cost less, have better reviews, better graphics (in my opinion) and more rides and themes, and in addition, they don't freeze up your older computer as much as Sim Theme Park.

As with most people reviewing this game, check out the Roller Coaster Tycoon games, I guarentee you cannot be disappoint with them.
