Summary: Fun, but loses interest fast
Review: This game has alot to it, but not enough to KEEP you going. After building a few zoos with various animals, you really have no control over it. The scenery is intriguing, the animals look realistic, but do not act realistic, nor do your customers. Its not as easily manipulative as such games as Roller Coaster Tycoon, etc. Im glad I bought it, but its been gathering dust since a few days after it arrived.

Summary: Close, but buggy, and the fix isn't.
Review: There's no excuse for this game to run that slowly once you have more than about 10 exhibits and 500 guests.

What's more, when reloading saved games, the exhibit numbers get incremented by the number of exhibits each time, and the game appears to slow down accordingly as well, including scrolling and accepting clicks.

This makes it unplayable.

It's fun until it starts to choke, then it's simply annoying.

The choking on size was NOT a problem until after I loaded the "fix". Before I loaded the "fix" it would only crash, not slow down.

If this gets fixed, it will be a good game.

Summary: Can you be the zoo tycoon?
Review: This game is really attractive. You can build your dream zoo with the tolls it provides. When you are installing the game, it will show a guildline for you to help you to understand the game clearly. My sister like this game very much. But she likes to kill people. She first build a fanstic zoo, then delete all the gate and let the animals escape, then all the animals will escape and fight with people. Although it is a bit cruel, but I think this is a interesting and funny way to play the game again when you are tired of building a normal zoo.

Summary: An enjoyable game
Review: While the price of the game stumped me at first ($35 at Walmart) the game proved to be worth its cost. Simple to navigate and easy to play, once the game has completed its rather lengthy install. My only problems with the game: long install, and tends to crash my computer if I don't enter the game from the desktop. But neither of these problems are worth keeping me from the game, and downloading add-ons for the game are simple and worth the game itself. Little violence, comedic relief (around the end of October in the game a witch flies over, the same with Santa around the end of December) and excellent graphic make it an enjoyable game indeed.

Summary: Fun - but full of bugs that the patch did not fix...
Review: As a fan of the other "tycoon" games, I did enjoy playing this game. Although, as you figure out how the game works and what is necessary to succeed, it becomes less and less challenging. I run this on XP and even with the patch, the game still freezes or the people start to "loop" and can't move. Hopefully another patch will be released so I can continue to play the game.

Summary: A Big Disappointment
Review: I really wanted to like this game. I did. The concept was good, the features seemed exciting, and I thought that I would spend many weeks enjoying the game. I was wrong. The game play is awkward. There is a patch on the website that helps a bit, but it doesn't fix everything. The zookeepers and maintence workers do their assigned tasks and then wander off into the undevoloped areas of the park, and then when there is a problem you have to hunt them down and physically move them to where they should have been all along. I have a pretty decent computer with more than double all of the requirements, but the game will still crashed on me. Stick with Rollercoaster Tycoon and its add-on packs, and if you complete all of the theme parks there, then keep searching for a new game. Don't think that Zoo Tycoon will be the fix that you need until more Rollercaster Tycoon add-on packs come out like I did.

Summary: Really Fun
Review: This game is sooooo fun! I played it with my friend, and we played it for a relly long time. I reccomend it if u like animals, or if you have other "tycoon" games.

Summary: Not Much Creativity Invovled At All
Review: Zoo Tycoon as a game is not very fun. The only part about it that might be fun is the fact that the game does not take much time and that it is very easy, especially if you have the strategy guide which is very helpful, but if you have don't expect to be using much brain power when playing this game. Overall I would give this game about a 71%. I'd recommend Roller Coaster Tycoon over this game any day. RTC is at least a bit challenging and some creativity is invovled with it.

Summary: Everything You'd Imagine
Review: Zoo Tycoon seperates itself from other "Tycoon" games. Lots of great animals, including ones you can download of their site. A must for tycooners looking for a different tycoon game. Build reptile houses and primate houses. Breed the rare Giant Panda and recieve an award. Have lions and tigers. Polar bear galore. Gators, birds, monkeys, camels, elephants, kangaroos, giraffes, yeti's, reindeer, hippos, cheetahs, leopards, and MORE! Build your own zoo for fun or take the challenge to become the real Zoo Tycoon!!

Summary: Theme Park mentality needed!
Review: People who love RCT should really get into this game (altho it does come off as a rip-off of the RCT style and engine...who cares, makes it easier to play!)
The one thing myself and my friends did notice right away when playing...this game can be HARD! There is a lot of things you need to concentrate on all at once and learning the types of foliage and terrains and the likes/dislikes of the MANY animals is more difficult than a basic knowledge of roller-coasters and go-carts to me.
However, it does take the experience of running a Theme Park like RCT to do well in this game. You are responsible for budgets, marketing, in-park revenue (souveigners, food, etc.), and staff. Adjusting prices, adjusting attractions, shows, and so forth.
One thing that is GREAT about this game (I know everyone wished RCT had this) is the freestyle version! Aside from playing several challenge scenerios, you can also start with a blank piece of land (with terrain and budget of your choosing!)and have fun! There are also plenty of free download add-ins for this game online!
Once you get a handle on this game, you will instantly get hooked and love it...it just takes a little patience at first. But sooner or later, you'll be breeding lions just to sell them so you can open a new ice-cream cart
