Rating: Summary: The Tightest Game in the World Review: Age of Empires two is one tight game. PERSONALLY, I Bought it for the History Lessons. They're pretty tight. But Seriously folks, seriously, it's a great game and anyone in their right mind should by it right now. ALSO, I bought it for the SKIRMISHING options. Geez, they're TIGHT like me.
Rating: Summary: The best strategy game out now. Review: AOE2 melds gameplay and strategy in a way no other game like it has been able to. The days of 2D isometric gaming are far from over, the visuals in AOE2 are amazing and beautiful. This is a game anyone can pick up and play, with a very good tutorial, you'll pick up the controls quickly and then begin really playing to increase your strategies. Overall this game is great and with the upcoming expansion pack, AOE2 looks to keep up the great gameplay.
Rating: Summary: Challenging and Time Taking Review: This is a middle age war addicts heaven. 4 ages, many buildings and countless units. The campaigns are very hard. I bought the game personaly for the skirmish options. This game is timetaking and hard and should only be used by people who like strategy games at least mediocre or more. Definetly not for part time strategy users.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: I really love this game. Other games like Civilization just can't compete with it. There are some flaws, like sometimes you can't play senarios because before you can do anything, it says you lost. And sometimes it wont let you play on the internet, but all you need to do is restart the game, and its up and running. The interface is beutifuly set up, and is surprizingly easy to play, if not easy to win at. It is overall an aewsome game.
Rating: Summary: Fun and challanging for the whole Family Review: I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he plays it as often as he can. He is very picky about computer games so I was very happy he enjoyed it. What I did not expect was that my 9 year old daughter would also enjoy the game. She plays it as often as he will let her! What more could I ask for in a computer game?
Rating: Summary: Great Strategy game Review: This game is hands down the best strategy game out there. The AI is much better than that of AoE1. There are better troops to pick from, the troops are much smarter, and you can organize them much better. One of the main differences from AoE1 that makes this one better is that you can make castles, by far the best defense building you can have. I have spent soo many hours playing this game my grades dropped. You can also spend hours playing multiplayer or modem to modem with friends. If you like strategy games put this at the top of your list.
Rating: Summary: Medieval Madness Review: A great game that gives one the opportunity to participate in medieval warfare, a la Braveheart, but unfortunately not Army of Darkness. AOE 2 features some of the great battles of the middle ages, including William Wallace's insurgency against Edward I, Joan of Arc and the turning point in the Hundred Years War, the Mongol horde of Genghis Khan. Highly recommended, as one will get a flavor for medieval warfare. Making your own campaigns is another fun feature, and you can add various characters, including Charlemagne, Robin Hood and El Cid. If you have not played this game, do yourself a huge favor and play now!
Rating: Summary: Age of Empires II: The "King" of Strategy Games Review: Age of Empires II is the best game that I have ever played. I've bought lots of games, like Lords of Magic, Lords of the Realm II, Warcraft II, and Starcraft. But there is simply no comparison to Age II. It has excellent graphics, great detail, sound fx, music, campaigns of historical accuracy, an awesome campaign editor, and easy online game play. It has many features new and different from Age of Empires and is definitely worth the price. For the forty dollars I payed, I got at least four hundred hours of entertainment. It is, undoubtably, an excellent strategy game.
Rating: Summary: Nice game, but almost the same as AoE 1 Review: This game is a huge improvement from AoE 1 in graphics and gameplay. The troops are smarter and line up smart (like longrange weapons in the back) and they line up in formations. But its the same concept as AoE 1, attack, defend and build larger armies. The AI (artificell intelligence) is quite stupid and you can fool him easily. But still its a good waste of time.
Rating: Summary: Age of empires 2: the age of kings Review: This game is extraordinary! Beautifully rendered 3d graphics(for a game with the same overhead view as C&C: Red alert)and awesome AI make it even better! Unlike the first Age of empires, Your soldiers are now more likely to join a nearby battle the stand around like idiots. You can Even assign formations to your soldiers like flanking, where they split into to groups a few hundred feet apart. Or staggered which is pretty much self-explanatory. There are some cons though. There are some slight AI issues over the water and you can't assaign formations to your navy. You also have a population limit. Hopefully someone will release a patch that gets rid of that. You can choose from one fo 13 civilizations. they are: Franks, Goths, Britons, Celts, Chinese, Japanese, Mongols, Vikings, Tuetons, Searacens, Persians, and two others but their names elude me. You can select your map of choice and how many enemies and allies you want on your team or against you. The battles are brutal but fun to watch. It's like watching braveheart all over again. There are several modes of play to choose from including Deathmatch, Regicide, Conquest, Time, and a few more. The gamelay is great. But to enjoy it to its fullest you should have at least A Voodoo 3 2000 PCI, But its beautiful on a Pentium 2 with 300 mhz and a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP at the 1024 setting. This game has tons of replayability All in all this game is a worthy buy. I reccomend it for anyone who wants a break from all other Stratedgy games.
