Summary: Eh.
Review: I thought it was too difficult to control and it ran very slowly on my system (PIII 500mhz, 256 MB RAM). The idea is good, but the game needs some more tweaking to be really really good.

Summary: Consult An Animal Trainer Next Time
Review: I was really looking forward to Black and White. I had read a few things about it beforehand, and it all sounded pretty good. Civilization style management PLUS training an avatar! Woo hoo!

Well, as it turns out, they only gave you one way to train them... by hitting them. If you like what they do, you pet them, but when you don't, you have to smack them. And sometimes, you have to smack them hard. I played this game for about 10 hours straight when I first got it, and went to bed depressed. I woke up the next day and played for a couple more hours, and the same thing happened... the more I played, the more depressed I got. I'm not much of a blood & guts gameplayer, so I thought maybe it was just me being a softie. My roommate, however, feels no compunction about chasing people and things around and shooting them in lots of games... and he had the same thing happen. We were both moping around feeling like very bad people for hitting (yes, full blown open "hand" slapping) these very expressive creatures. It's not a matter of tugging on their collars or tweaking their noses, but you really BACKHAND them. Anyway, I couldn't deal with it, and stopped playing after about 3 days. I still can't imagine how Peter Molyneaux & Bullfrog spent 2 or 3 years making this game and obviously did not ONCE consult an animal trainer. Heard of Positive Reinforcement, guys? Yeesh. If I can get my cats to stay off the cupboards and tables, I can sure as heck get a hyper intelligent monkey to listen to me without hitting it.

If the characters were less well done, and didn't cry and look at you like they have NO IDEA why you are hitting them, it might be better. They really don't though. I wouldn't hit a child that [had an accident] in a corner, I'd show them where to do it until they figured it out. Took me all of two weeks to do with my 10 week old puppy. If only they'd given you a more patient option in B&W.

If you want to create worlds, stick with Civilization. If you want to train an animal, get a puppy. And if you're interested in sadism, get this game.

Summary: OH MY GOD! IT"S BETTER THAN I THOUGHT!
Review: Man, This game is totally awesome. You control village,
you rule the world, man. YOU do anything you want as you become a Mighty God.

GOOD POINT: tottally great 3-D graphics
So much fun, it's like raising a stupid child!
BECOMING A GOD

BAD POINT: Gets some trouble when I play multi.
Controlling village is SO HARD!

They want food, children, buildings... hell.......
but anyway it was OK.

Buy this game I recommend it.
(If you don't like being responsible and really frustrated
I don't recommend it)

Summary: Full of Regrets...
Review: What exactly is the requirement of this game??? I have a P-III 1 GHz, 640 MB RAM, and GeForce-II 32 video card and this game still performs like a crap! Auto-Save in this game cannot be trusted at all!!! When it says game saved, and 20 min. later when the game crashed, you will never be able to load to the point where it AUTO-SAVED! Instead, you'll have to start everything over... I don't how they've QA this game when I see some design fraud in the game saving. This is very easy to duplicate and they should of caught this before they ship this game out.

Summary: To All Of You Whiny Gamers Out There...
Review: Simply put, did you ever consider the fact that perhaps the reason this game is the way it is (ie. pretty intensive, lotsa' maintenence etc.) was intentional?
Now you know how god feels while watching us live out our mundane, monotonous lives...doomed to make the same mistakes over and over again.
This game is nothing short of divine intervention!

Summary: HORRIBLE HORRIBLE GAME
Review: This game is the worst piece of [junk] i have ever bought, not only does it take around a week to each level, you can't even cast miracles from towns that you convert!!! this was the most boring game I have ever played! sure its fun... until the second level where you start having to micromanage your towns which takes time away from your creature, then you teach your creature which in turn takes away from micromanaging your damn towns. you're probably saying to yourself "oh, but so many people have written good things about it" well im guessing that many of them haven't played past the intro.

Summary: Good Style of Gameplay
Review: When I was deciding whether to buy this game, I was discouraged by some of the reviews on the site- generally by comments about how interacting with villagers was 'boring.'
However, any fan of a game like Civilization or Age of Empires should find the villager interaction interesting. You can create the village and supply the villagers with resources- or (as I did) have a competition with your friends to see how many houses you can knock down with a single thrown rock. The possibilities for villager interaction as well as the highly sophisticated creature AI are extensive and not to be tossed aside. Unless you are concerned with the moral implications (which is very reasonable) I would get the game and play God. Its a lot of fun, believe me!

Summary: I loved it so much I bought it twice!
Review: A few months ago I bought this game ...and I was thrilled. I loved trying to decide whether to be kind or evil. Just like in real life it's much harder to be good, but I just loved the little helpers, and all the miracles that you can work. Then, after a short life, the game found its way into the hell that I call my brother's room. Anywhere you step it's a foot deep in God knows what, and I never saw that disc again.... :(

Then I bought the game again! I loved it so much that I figured that i just couldn't live without it. So happy gaming and if you have the chance to get this game please do. Trust me, you'll find it just as much fun!

Summary: Great start, fizzles quickly
Review: At first glance, Blacka and White looks like the everything-killer. The graphics and sound will crash your jaw through the floor. Creature interaction is wonderfully entertaining and challenging. The story is good and the interface is ingenious.

Unfortunately, this all wears off after about 3 hours. You will soon discover that the game simply isn't fun. You are forced to manage your whiny villagers endlessly and unless you train your creature just right, you will be picking up after it's obnoxious little self for the majority of the time.

All in all; a great start trips on it's own AI-encoded toe and falls crashing to the ground

Summary: Not the best strategy game...
Review: At first the thought of becoming and playing a deity appealed to me greatly. However, after awhile the game became dull, repetitious, and so boring that you no longer want to play. I persisted and after spending hours and finally beating the game... I felt this big emptiness...
